After over a year of release, could someone comment on this monitor versus HP Omen 27i? I am struggling to choose in between this two. As far as I learn, on RTINGS they are pretty similar as a nanoIPS 1440p 165Hz monitor. Omen has a really stunning and metallic design plus the RGB. However the Dell S27 really gets much more attention on the retailers as well as much more reviews. And it has a much better ergonomics. Overall I think reliability and persistence is the most important factor for me as I am spending four hundred dollars on it. Any user or professional level comments would be greatly appreciated :
The HP OMEN 27i and the Dell S2721DGF are very similar. They're both 27 inch IPS monitors with a 1440p resolution and 165Hz refresh rate. The Dell has better response times to deliver clearer motion with less blur trail behind fast-moving objects. It also has significantly better ergonomics because it can swivel and rotate to portrait mode, and it supports HDR. Hello! We noticed a few of your questions and will try to answer them all in one spot! 1 and 2) Dell's UltraSharp monitors each have an sRGB mode that limits the colors to the sRGB color space so that colors don't look oversaturated if you don't calibrate it, making them better for photo editing. The S2721DGF doesn't have that, so colors are oversaturated and inaccurate before calibration. 3) While we officially haven't used the S2721DGF for photo editing, it's not something we would recommend because it has disappointing color accuracy, and the UltraSharp monitors have much better accuracy.

Same. I upgraded from a 1080p 144hz TN and at first is it worth the £300 in the UK, and it definitely is, I wish I upgraded to 1440p IPS earlier to be honest, but glad I ended up with this monitor.
It’s THEE best 1440p gaming monitor hands down atm. 1440p, 165hz, 1ms rt, HDR and both free sync and g-sync capable? Nothing beats this.

Mine has only the corners when it comes to the black light bleed even when hdr is on, it’s not really that noticeable. Not sure if I should get a replacement but this monitor is incredible.
900:1 contrast ratio isn't great, but not terrible either.
A super color supersaturated monitor, OMG....Too red
I own one of these monitors, response time in "fast" is no where near quick enough with plenty of overshoot at 165hz. Fast is good enough for 60hz but superfast is the absolute best all round setting for 60-165hz range. If you can lock 165fps in game then the Extremely fast setting is the best. Can't help but feel you've made a mistake in your script somewhere
Can't wait for the ps5 and xbox series x reccomendations. Thank you.
i've heard for next gen consoles that - LG 27gl850, ASUS TUF gaming vg27aq and Dell S2721DGF are very excellent monitors. Do keep in mine that ps5 does not support 1440p, but I heard someone say that that isn't the case, but idk for sure
@@Flootyy I wouldn’t recommend the LG 27GL850-B due to the fact it can only support 100Hz over HDMI with freesync on
@@ross9927 So I have to disable free sync to have it run at 120Hz? And what about the Dell s2721dgf?
@@Flootyy To my knowledge of reading reviews, the LG 27GL850-B is capped at 100Hz with Freesync over HDMI - source rtings.com. This or the Gigabyte-G27QC-A for office use and Xbox Series X and PS5 gaming? The Gigabyte is $299 and the Dell is $309 right now. Thank in advance.
Yeah I wouldn’t expect an actual response back atleast for a year at most 👌👌😂😂
The XSX and PS5 support 4K@120Hz HDR, so you should buy a LG C1 or something for them.

That said, it might help to check out our full comparison here: www.rtings.com/monitor/tools/compare/hp-omen-27i-vs-dell-s2721dgf/13727/16485?usage=3623&threshold=0.10

They both stack up well vs the Dell & Samsung, @ $600 & $480, respectively.
One is an IPS panel, the other is VA. I prefer the VA for better contrast, and uniformity (S3220).
I got the s3220dgf, the colours are very good out of the box without much calibration needed, backlight uniformity is excellent to the point where I think the monitor is turned off if it's showing a black screen. Contrast ratio is good for games and movies. If you consume a lot of media then I think VA is the way to go. Overall very happy with it.

Monitor gives off noticeable eye strain
I just bought the LG 27GL83A-B in great discount - beautiful monitor but I quite did not win the panel lottery and unfortunately have some blacklight bleed, mostly in the left bottom corner. It is ok when I am gaming but not so pleasant when watching dark scenes or playing some dark themed games. I still can refund it and take the Dell S2721DGF (also in the sale right now, little bit more expensive tho). Should I do it?
What did you end up doing my guy? I am interested in both of those but can't decide
@@jamesdixon6903 I stayed with the LG. The blacklight blees is only visible when the screen is mostly dark/black so it't not really a problem. Is it just me or did this analysis make it clear that if you're a photographer it's not worth buying the ultrasharp line?
The professional line and the GAMER Dell 27 (S2721DGF) IPS QUAD HD 165Hz have very similar percentages of srgb
