    Unlike 99% of these videos, most of these were very clever, and a few I'll actually use to run cables tomorrow. One improvement, though, is for the applications you're using a half-dozen or more: You can use velcro wrap/strips to do the same thing and not waste anything. For the side-by-side cables, you can wrap all four with ONE velcro strip, and then thread ONE zip tie around all of them in an extended figure-eight pattern. This way you're only actually using one tie for each, and if you leave some extra, you can always "unzip" it later.
    Thank you for the vids, especially the rugged cable label ideas. Clever!

    Wow, very nice. For those that might be as OCD as I am at times, these are great tips to make it organized and pretty. I think someone suggested the flush cutters for trimming the ends as they can rip you apart if you aren’t careful. I have an equipment test bench at work and am changing zip ties out for velcro strips for just that reason. Looks like you lost out in a cat fight when that happens and is a terrible look with a polo in the middle of summer.

    Anche se qualcuno si lamenta che alcuni pezzi sono ripresi da altri vecchi video, trovo che questo nuovo sia molto interessante e rilassante. Mi hai dato bellissime idee per etichettare i cavi di una casa/azienda che andrò a realizzare all’estero. Amo l’ordine maniacale e i sistemi di fissaggio/etichettatura fatti in questo modo sono molto meglio di tanti altri “professionali” che si trovano in giro, perlomeno nel caso di modifica dell’impianto, puoi sempre mantenere una certa coerenza estetica (nessuno noterà mai se hai cambiato modello di fascette).
    Complimenti e grazie! Sei una fonte di ispirazione continua.

      You said that a waste since u want to finish ur job faster and then get the coin dude. I’m would gave a technician more coin if they work like this for 1 it is an art and 2 it is more easy to troubleshooting if any problem occurs if the technician not same anymore

    • @JerzZDog
      @JerzZDog 4 года назад +66

      @@berlinsusanto5748 You have no idea about my work ethic. Cable management is one of my pet peeves, I cannot tolerate a rat's nest of wires. I started in the business when I was 8 years old working for my Dad who taught me to be proud of my work and do a job such that I would be willing to put my name on it... and I did just that. Every electrical panel I've ever wired has my signature on it. They are works of art. All wires and circuit breakers are labeled for easy troubleshooting. Wires are dressed neatly along the sides with 90-degree bends into the circuit breakers. Service cables are curled into their connectors symmetrically. Romex runs are unrolled from the reel, flattened out and run parallel to each other. I take the extra time to loop the wires and use the screw connectors on switches and outlets rather than use the tenuous connections that the stab-connectors provide. I can accomplish cable management with far less material and yes, time. After all I WAS in the business to make a living, not to make the zip-tie manufacturers rich. I worked with my Dad for over forty years, when he passed I moved on to become an IT professional and the work ethic he instilled in me remains.

      JerzZDog 1 what kind of technician bend wire 90degree without keeping in mind that not all wire could be bend 90degree (the most basic wiring principle in electrical degree)? 2nd ur work is a masterpiece if it the connection have fix number of port and not compatible in a 3rd country including mine. Since many people just make a temporary port plug and then add more when they need it. 3rd since u know art, are you forcing ur thoughts bout “masterpiece”, “beautiful” etc etc to other an universal standard? Dont u know everything could be called as art? I know you are a “professional” on this problem but please respect other cz maybe ur skill can only be use in an area with so many good resources but not everywhere. Like many technician in my area, they could use all the same wire color for wiring without labeling it and arrange the wire on wall to make patern is it a junk in ur mind? Come on dude.

    If you want to lace cable then waxed string is cheaper, less plastic waste and much, much faster. I laced miles of cables in a nuclear control panel as an apprentice. It didn't take long and would have been quicker if we weren't larking around when nobody was there to watch us.
    The label idea is a cool way to use the trimmed ends, but writing directly onto the cable or a strip of pvc tape with a biro or white marker has always worked for me. Otherwise, a bag of alphanumeric tracer sleeves are cheap and just slide on.

    Like these ideas, and the labeling approach is neat and novel, BUTTT, if you're going to go that route, I'd just invest in a label maker with different tape widths. That way you can use different widths, adhere it to the cable tie, and better secure it with the clear heat shrink tubing. I think that would be better cost effective and time effective while also minimizing waste.

      A complete waste of zip-ties & time...if your using heat-shrink tubing...why use zip-ties. The next tec who has to add cabling will make be pissed...

    Time and Materials is Money. Nice to put a Razor Sharp end on the Wire Ties. They make a cheap tool, to cinch the tie, a half twist, with the tool and cut the cable will lock it in place. Also that label maker has a special flexible label for wire and tube. Here’s a tip, if you are wiring a control panel that has studs or bolts holding the panel platform, use the yellow insulated ring terminals on the studs, run your cable tie, through the crimp part to secure your cables. Also I carried paint markers in pretty much every color. I would color code the terminal blocks, to the color of wire attached at that terminal.

    The labelling ideas are great; I’m gonna seize it. The other are probably overkill unless you have to run the cables on the outside of a wall or something.
