    The Glock is a beast.
Its quite long and thin, but it is thick and VERY sturdy. It feels like a sharpened billet of high carbon steel in your hand.
Regarding the release "button", it gets better with practise. Whenever I get a new knife I put it by my keyboard and "desk pop" it for a few weeks (like a fidget toy). With practise you can learn to put just a tiny bit of pressure on the plastic release part, at just the right angle, and you will effortlessly get the knife to come right out. The first 100 times are miserable high effort affairs though. Worth noting that because its an all polymer sheath, the lower the temperature, the stiffer the plastic. Im sure its a pain to get out at -20c, and that is most likely why the Finnish army use an entirely different release system for the M95 Peltonen. As for throwing sparks, I have not tried but I reckon a few bashes up at the handle, near the bottle opener would be a win once the paint is worn off. Maybe even take a file and make a little semi circle indent like people do when modifying the British Army Jungle knife.
That said, I love this knife, and it will certainly last a lot longer than me. There is also a good video out there about a mod for this knife. You can pop the plastic cap off the end (which you remove to attach it to your rifle), you can tap it, and once you have a thread, you can screw in a bolt, and use the inside of the handles as an emergency store for matches etc, and the bolt as a glass breaker.
I totally hear you on the kabar btw. I own a leather one (wall hanger) and a modern kabar with a polymer handle (which I actually use). Apparently the the plastic handled Kabar is stronger, but every time I use it, some part of my lizard-brain warns me "its just a rat tang, be careful not to bed it". I love them, but damn they bend pretty easy.
I think both knives are a product of their times historically. They are answering one simple question: How do we manufacture the best possible military knife at the lowest possible cost, using the materials available. These days we have more access to steel, so I guess thats why the Kabar is a rat tail. Love them both though.
I heard the donkey in the background .... hilarious

For those of us who remember this knife from 16 years ago....
The factory edge was never that good you had to modify it yourself but once you did it was the sweetest thing on earth.

Good demo and accurate. They are extremely great value blades! I have the model 81 and have beat the heck out of it carving and batoning little logs and lumber for campfires. It stands up very well indeed. Mind you, the finish will wear to the steel on the blade in parts, but what do you expect from hard use!

same cost here in USA , about 40 to 50 dollars , fairly reasonable for a knife here when many decent blades here cost around 100 dollars, i carry the bitty spark steel and flint , it comes with a cord attaching them together, very inexpensive and light, no knife needed

I ve had my eye on it for some time. But I just cant do it. The steel looks like a piece of sharpened rebar. It can do nothing buschcraftwise. Just stabbing and maybe throwing. Very mixed feelings about this one :)

I was surprised with how fine the edge was on this knife, it's a good edge for many tasks including woodcraft. If it was a 4 to 4 and a half inch blade I would be quite happy. Take a half in or so on the handle and it would be handier in my opinion.

The Glock 78 has been out of production (for the public at least) for years. By the way you explained the sheath not closing, it sounds like you got a fake. Real 78s are rare to come up on eBay and usually sell for 70-100 US$. They say the only way to tell is by the plastic feeling cheap and not like a Glock plastic. I have a 78 and an 81 and what you describe about the sheath closing sounds nothing like what I have. The "Glock Perfection" that is their slogan doesn't fit what you described about the sheath. They say the fakes are made of a harder plastic, not the heavy rubbery type that the pistols are made from. I have seen quite a few failing videos where the user was testing a fake. This was true a few years ago with fake Gerber Strongarms. All the best, Mike.
