#HadesII #Part3
Of course Reto gets a unique conversation with Chronos for reaching him way sooner than the game expected him to
Chronos is not prepared for speedrunners.
Funny enough, that isn't the ONLY unique thing he says. He does control time afterall.
i love the devs talking about how they had to add a special dialogue on Hades I cause they never thought players would finish the first run lol
I love the “contain yourselves” everytime you see aphrodite, its always funny.
Yes the Eris thing is ridiculous, but... I think you reaching the final boss with that stupod thing and getting it to half health on first read is bonkers! Absolute god gamermaster Reto!
19:17 Chronos really just went “Too fast. Too soon.”
36:36 HOLY SHIT THEY HAVE ECHO TOO!! I was wondering if they were gonna have her after seeing narcissus, this is awesome
Can’t wait to see the other weapons! 56:45 Also, your keepsake leveled up after the Cerberus fight and you got another 1500 mana from it which is why it said it ran out twice
I view the silver wheel keepsake as just allowing you to use your magic early game, and then dump it when you have a boon that regenerates your magic.
you can echolocate the real hecate if she says a line during the clones phase which i think is pretty cool. didnt happen this time but last episode her voice came from the left and the leftmost hecate was the real one
This might be the closest thing to a low% speedrun we see for a while! It inspires me to keep trying Thanatophobia mode in Rogue Legacy 2.
Eris will eventually stop hanging around Oceanus and move to the fields, and then eventually she'll get bored of ambushing you there too and wait in tartarus instead... and then she'll bugger off to be annoying elsewhere that isn't during your runs. For now ya kinda just gotta grin and bear it
Oi, she's just trying to help people not rush through the place and instead enjoy the views! She's a very nice and thoughtful lady, and if you think otherwise you'd better not be anywhere in range of her Adamant Rail... >:P
i mean she buggers off to elsewhere but it’s definitely an elsewhere that impacts your runs lol, i love 120 damage missiles (lying) (😭)
@Cilan_tro "what do you mean +100% damage" -me, about to be shot into Swiss cheese
@@LordDragox412Wasn't that the gun weapon from the first game or am I remembering the name wrong?
@@Linkbond It is, she has it again now that Zagreus has been time frozen. You can even see her holding it in her sprite.
Which makes sense given Aspect of Eris was one of it's aspects in Hades 1.
man i cant get enough of the spinning laser bois, they just go "*YIP--- EEEE*" every time and its amazing
I can see how the mana trinket could be a utility tool to spam early magic without the need for early mana regen. Though for skilled players (and in general) it would be stronger if that reserve was only utilized if your own mana was too low to cast the spell on it's own. Ensuring you don't need to be as wary about using mana early on if you'd rather save it for a boss or later in the run.
I do wonder why the trinket regenerated during the third zone, though I am glad it did so with the upgraded 1,500 mana serve.
This run is another reason why they call you Reto the God. Very nicely done.
Not gonna lie, I assume Chronos has a Phase 2, like Hades, but almost beating the first phase on a sight read is wild. Reto 'God Gamer' McGee is truly here to play. Look forward to you successfully killing Chronos next episode. Death to Chronos!
Death to Chronos!
Iirc, that was how Hades went too 😂 Death to Chronos!
I read someone saying that the Eris curse is after the 1st boss fight for the first three runs, after the 2nd for 4-6, and after the 3rd for 7-9. I'm not sure if that's accurate but I haven't seen anything contradicting it.
I only got cursed by Eris once after the first boss, and then she never appeared again in that manner (she still appears outside of the curse)
It's based on how you're doing with morons for the first one I think and with whenever Hermes comes back for the second one. Don't know about the third.
I met her for the first time in the Fields. (After the Sirens.) It was probably in that 4-6 run range. (I lost a few early runs to Hecate.)
I just watched the other two videos and was like: Awh man, now I gotta wait? And suddenly BOOM, third vid! Off to watch it I go, thank you for the content
I wonder if Arachne is going to spin a red hoodie at some point.
Didn’t hades 1 have a way to switch keepsakes mid-run? If they bring that back The mana keepsake would be a good one to switch to late game
Yea you can unlock the switching trinkets in the cauldron. It just appeared for me but i can't cast it yet
very true, if it is indeed back that is huge
You can soon remember to get trinkets from everyone including boons before you click them.
loving the series and hope it continues
just noticed that when you take out one of the band members against the sirens, that instrument goes away while they're immune. Really cool little detail
Apollo is my favorite god so far, I haven’t gone for Aphrodite too much but I guess with the daggers she’s actually busted. I’ve been using the axe mainly and maybe it’s too long range.
with the daggers damage is frankly a little silly since they will practically always hit the close range trigger
@@Retromation have you tried daggers with hestia attack? There’s an additional boon from hestia that does damage after the fire goes to 300 and daggers stack it up so quickly
The attack from the axe works with aphro's close range
I have chosen you as the place to get the hades 2 story and gameplay.(Dont like this kind of game myself but enjoy watching it) So i would be bummed if it got cancelled before the end of the story atleast.
More more more 😊 your videos are helping me through tough times, thanks retro!
Lesgo hades 2. Keep up the good work man!
Chonos voice sounds like the: "ummm actually" Meme 😂
I think the idea with the silver wheel is once it runs out you should have some mana regen
Ah yes my daily lunchtime retromation goodness
Next time you get to the chronos fight, you should try pausing
Hades 2!!! Looks super dope!
I finally figured it out, Reto. You were right about Narcissus. At first It felt like Andy Sandburg doing a nick cage impression. But I realized it’s a nick care circa raising Arizona doing an Andy Sandburg impression 🤯
i found something but i don't know if its consistent, after i found eris for the first time and spoke to odyssues about her, he said that if i see her a bunch of times she will get bored and u wont find her again, next run i had she wasnt there. hope this helps.
Anyone else notice as u kill the sirens the music loses what ever Instrument. They were playing for the song so I wondering if you kill the singer first if it's just the guitar and drums
Doesn't Scylla stay closed at one point, until the others die?
Death to Chronos
Loved the Hades episodes, keep it coming. The game is too good not to make vids on! :)
Starting to see the series today(win first for no spolier of the final fight) hyped for some crazy builds
Yay for the strife "blessing". Fun watch reto lose without doing it on purpose.
The blessing of strife just seems like an overall bad choice. If the devs want you to stop at certain bosses for the story, or perhaps because they don't want you getting to far into the game, then just either end the run forcibly at certain checkpoints or just don't allow players past a certain point in game? Because all it does is make learning harder for future runs.
I can agree to it being a silly limit tho not fully sure I side with ending the run right away, as if you had something good going, it'd feel like a waste having to start from the scratch over an arbitrary progression limit. Also unsure it'd make future runs harder to learn since it appears like everything will be the same (enemy mobs & their move set), you'll just have a feeling of not being as vulnerable as before. Overall if progression-blocking has to occur then it may just come down to the player's personal preference. As I can also see it being fair to end it early and not waste one's time in order to get to the un-impeded runs faster.
Yeah
Letting you know 🎉
You mentioned that thing about soothing Cerberus and i started thinking.... And then I rewatched the fight and noticed the third head to the left was glowing. THE ONE ZAG USED TO PET IN HADES 1.
Could it be related? I didnt saw a comand during the fight but it's worth a shot investigating next time. Maybe you were right about soothing him
After the Chronos fight my theory crumbled lmao
That glow was just from the Dite boon
I got to chronos room w 1 hp and never met her untill after. Im kinda mad i have to expect that bs now
The not cronus sounds like the narattor
It's probably the same actor. He plays a lot of different characters. Off the top of my head I remember he is also Hades, Zeus, Poseidon, Achilles, and Charon. Logan's an absolute legend.
Is it possible to NOT talk to Eris and avoid her “blessing”?
nope
Damn…fingers crossed it’s just an early access thing or there’s a plot resolution at some point. That does indeed really suck.
@@Retromation I've not encountered her there in any of my runs, so there _is_ a way to get her to not show up. I suspect she only appears there if you beat Hecate on your first few runs, as a fail-safe to reduce the odds of players missing huge chunks of the story progression by blasting through the game on their first run.
Eris doesn't always show up. I suspect whether she does or not is tied to how many runs it takes you to beat Hecate. Much of the story is delivered over repeated runs, so it makes sense they'd include a fail-safe to reduce the odds of over-skilled players succeeding on an early run and missing a lot of the story.
Calm down you little demons 😂😂
BOOBA AWOOGA
wild that they put a boon called holocaust in the game
I gotta ask retro does thou remember me mayhaps :3
pair of social relationships
Narcissus, is that you?
Hi
Fourth
I think the curse is a bad game design. Why not let good players win, I don't get it
Real good players do still win. Dude got final boss to half health on a sight read with +100% extra damage intake on run number 3. It's still possible, and it won't even be long before there are fresh run speed runs once the fights are practiced enough. It also has pretty satisfying payoff down the road when you get to certain story points.
@@DangerzoneDuggar I stand by my statement. Why make the game easier over time by cursing players.
I'm gonna wait before buying this.
I'd agree if this was a typical, mindless, hack-and-slash, dungeon-crawling rogue-like, but I tend to rather enjoy the story, dialog, and interactions throughout the game, so looking at the curse from a story telling perspective makes it not bother me as much. Plus, it makes for good content seeing people's reactions when they realize what just happened.
