This video almost made me cry..Living there was some of the happiest years of my life. My mom was a 'can can' girl {coctail waitress} in the Bucket O' Blood Saloon, they may still have a poster of her in the saloon in her can can dress...she made them for all of the coctail waitresses, and my dad was a Deputy Sherriff and volenteer fireman...I think most of the men that live there are. The house you showed on the video that's white with green trim with the little picket fence across the street from the big blue house was where I lived...on 'C' street. There used to be an identical house like the blue one, right next to our house, but it was leaning towards our house so they eventually took it down. It was so close to our house that I could barely fit between them when I was 12. We used to sneek into the old house and throw water balloons down on the tourists in the summer. We used to sled down the road right next to the house and kept our horses on the hill right behind the house. We also used to take our sleds down the 6 mile canyon. We used to cut down our own Christmas trees too, and pick the pine cones from the pinion pines. Red Candy Store used to give all of the kids sugar canes for halloween. There used to be a gas station next to the Nazarene church that my dad used to own. It's a gift shop now, I think. Road my horse all over those hills, from the Carson River to the outskirts of Reno. My last name used to be Savage. My Grandpa told me that it was our ancesters that built the Savage Mansion. The front of the school fell into a mineshaft several years ago. At the time we only had a basketball team that my cousins played on in highschool..the Virginia City Muckers...not sure if that's what they are still called. I have an uncle buried in the cemetary there. Some of the museums used to play recordings of my grandpa playing honky tonk piano. I saw a Marshall McBride sign on this video...His family owns the Bucket O' Blood Saloon and he was my cousins best friend. There were places we used to be able to get under the boardwalks and we used to stick sticks up through the cracks to scare the tourists. I'd really love to go back some day for a visit. Thank you for the video!
All right thanks for your feelings I as well live there in Virginia City back in 1979 and 1980 my father lived on d Street just below the bucket of blood parking lot and my grandmother and grandfather had a house built around 1850 and the old Mexican mining Mill on B Street in fact we had an art gallery there it was called a Bromund art gallery , has some great memories living there with the family planning a trip next year visit my father's grave thanks for sharing
Oh and forgot to mention some of my grandfather's paintings are hanging in the bucket of blood saloon I believe he donated them it was to help raise money to form the cheap posse
This video made me cry. I lived here from 1969 until 1972. This brought back so many memories. A lot has changed since I lived here but a lot hasn't. You went right past my old house. It's on C street right across from the big blue house. The little white house with the picket fence is where I lived. My dad used to own the gas station next to the Prespetarian church. It's not a gas station anymore. He was a Deputy Sherriff and my mom worked in the Bucket O' Blood Saloon. They used to have a poster of her in the saloon..it was about 10" by 12", yellow and it was a charactature of her in her 'can can' dress...she made those dresses for all of the coctail waitresses that worked there. Living here was part of the best time of my childhood. Thank you so so much for bringing back such awesome memories
This was a very interesting walk. I've never seen wooden sidewalks like that. They have a lot of wooden houses and buildings, and then some red brick buildings too. The one red brick church with white trim was beautiful. I liked this walk and you did a great job of showing it to us. Thanks!
I was a great little tour especially when you came to the end when you're leaving c Street and you panned over up the hill this where we lived on B Street I seen our oldhouse which was built in 1850 on top of the old Mexican mining Mill, then at the end of c Street you hit a white building used to go have breakfast there it was owned and operated by Billy Cole and his family yes the good old days thank you for sharing that brought back some great memories

Not that I know of
Okay - Thanks 😊
virginia city good
Thanks -H
You need to come visit us in the UAE one day 👍...
That would be fantastic. -H
So this is the real Virginia City? It was never this hilly in the 60's TV show Bonanza.
It's almost like Hollywood doesn't always do its research. :-) -H
That's because it wasn't filmed there. It was filmed near Truckee, CA.
Great walk! Liked#53 New Sub here:-) Full watched.
Thank you so much 👍 -H
Could a person who have lost everything in life except a Social Security Check and a VA Pension Check make it in Virginia City, Nevada.
That's a tough life anywhere you go. Best of luck and sorry to hear you've had a hard time. -H
