I am confused. An equitable right must be registered in the land charges registry, but to be a registrable land charge, it has to be equitable. This feels like circular logic and occurs at 2.15 and 5.55 in the video. Please inform me where I misinterpret the lecture.
It’s not circular. Only equitable rights in unregistered land have to be (and could be) registered. Also puisne mortgages are an exception as they are legal rights which are registrable.
This is very helpful! Thank you for your hard work on this channel!

Hi Abubacker. The material on The Law Simplified are based on the English Common Law.
If I buy a house with an unregistered lease, what problems could it cause me?
A major concern would be the lack of protection against someone with a registered interest such as a right of refusal or charge on the land.
Do you know how long it takes to remove a unregistered lease?
