I'musing my 280m for gb n gba primarily, and absolutely having a blast with it, but cant wait to get this in the mail for experimenting and tweaking for ps1 and n64 to try and milk out a good library of games that have stable enough fps to be playable :3 Are the android n64 emus able to save setting/optimization profiles individually?
Thanks for the PSP footage. Impressed with the state of this console right now. Makes the wait for delivery even harder. Looking forward to trying out some hidden gems that have have been showing up in the vids.

@@JaeTea100 I have just had GOW ghost of Sparta running fine with a little tweeking on my blackberry key2 on PPSSPP. So I hope the retroid pocket 2 will run it no problem. I have never played it before. Ha
this look slightly more powerfull then my x18, yet far from a real upgrade (a downgrade in some aspects even) but its an amazing device and definetly a inevitable success, would definetly love to see more devices in this form factor (for me personally, a touch screen, dual low prof analog stick, both on the bottom, and widescreen, for more modern stuff with cloud gaming and android gaming)

At last! I have to say, I was VERY close to buy this handheld. It's always been a fight between raspberry Pi and this in my head. I was expecting better performance for PSP but this machine is impressive. I decided that the one with similar arrange of controllers and OS WITH almost perfect performance in PSP, N64, Dreamcast, PS1 and everything underneath will be the one for me. And I believe we are getting veeeery close guys!
I have the same doubt. Which one is better for PSP, n64, ds, ps1 and DC (3D games) emulation? RP2 or PiBoy DMG (with raspberry pi4). I’ve ordered RP2 and I’m waiting for it, but I really would like to know which one is better
Leo González it seems to me (I’m no expert) that the PiBoy is more powerful, since runs a board design to be an efficient computer, which is suppose to do everything easier and customizable, but I have to say, looks and buttons lay out are important too (to me at least) and the retroid is almost perfect, I think that is the design that should be the standard for any handheld.
LOLDEMOS sure, I agree with you. Other big issue is the price. PiBoy seems to be much more expensive. (Maybe I will it buy it for Christmas and compare, hahaha)

these examples of emulators running are great and all but I hope in your review you're going to mention all of your settings. I would have preferred if you've done it in this video to show if you've chosen to put frames skip on certain games and run other games on certain resolutions. I'm sure you didn't run every single game on this list, your Dreamcast list, or DS with the same exact settings. Maybe that's something else you can add to your Google spreadsheet?
@Matt Depends what you want to play. I play quite a bit of Dreamcast on even the retroid pocket 1. Capcom vs SNK 2 works great, Powerstone is good, Resident Evil Code Veronica is alright but video cut scenes are impossible to watch, I played through the entire game of Tony Hawk 2 on it the other day on Dreamcast emulation. Got my retroid pocket 2 today, will have to see if they run any better.

Same, watched the DS one and couldn't find them either. Maybe he uploaded it with the intent to stick them in and just hasn't gotten around to it? Idk. I would love a code, and definitely intend to use his links to support the channel when I eventually buy.
They are tiny little 6 letter/number codes drawn over the top of the gamefootage, you're probably not going to see them at less that 720p and better off if you watched on a computer. Someone else has timestamped in the comments so pause at those moments and search the screen to see what I mean. They were only valid for a single use though.

@@SenzuBeaner I have a s20 pro. It can run almost every system flawlessly including ps2 and gamecube. The thing is if you wanna emulate ps2 or gamecube, you should use a powerful android device.
I checked my settings document and I don't have anything special listed for that game. It just worked. The only thing I can think of is it put skip buffering on and see if that does 30/30.
I wish it were easier to buy. Currently the only thing I can seem to do is order one that won't ship out for a week from China (so let's add another month to the shipping calculations)... oh and their Paypal interface doesn't work properly, so my only choice is to give them a credit card... which is not something I'm excited about doing. Other than all that though it looks like a great little handheld and I want one.
IDK how there'd be a PP issue. I used PayPal on them before their first shipments on August 5th and maybe charged about one to two weeks later. Then had to push my order to August 25th 'cause of order change for 2nd generation fan suggested color schemes, and managed to get follow ups via tracking & contact until my devices arrived by September 16th. I know I'm speaking anecdotally, but their service it usually been more prompt than others I've had in the past.

Hey I'm trying to get KH birth by sleep, I can only find the zip file version, do I copy this to SD card or need to unzip it first and put in a KH folder within PSP folder? Please help
You'll need to unzip it, PPSSPP to my knowledge doesn't allow you to use zipped ROMs. You can just make a folder on your SD card for PSP ROMs and put it there, navigate to it in the main menu of PPSSPP and all ROMs in that folder will show up.
Maybe you’re using a different emulator than he’s using? Or is PPSSPP the only one? Did you ever get it figured out how to make it as good as the footage this video?
I really do hope that this can be overclocked for better performance, and that we eventually do get an Android 8 release for it to increase performance even further!
Honestly impressed that it handles Crisis Core and Birth By Sleep this well. I've got a few questions regarding the settings used to play Birth By Sleep, though. Do you have the CPU set as standard or accelerated? Are you using 16 or 32 bit colour? And lastly, are you using the data install function at all?
Incredible, is there any way you can test the full limits of this thing? Like could it honestly play a game with a PS2 emulator or even Gamecube? Would be interesting to know this things ultimate limits.
It can barely play Dreamcast and PSP. You would need triple or quadruple the power to even attempt a GameCube or even more for a PS2 emulation. The closest you can get to that on the go is a high-end mobile cell phone. Something with a snapdragon 855 or higher (Even then you won't run every GameCube game or PS2 game because emulation isn't perfect on those systems yet)
Besides, there aren't a lot of options for PS2 emulators. Play! is still very much in early stages, and the other one allegedly stole code from PCSX2, so it's a no go for me.

question: when you add different or better emulators onto the rp2 such as flycast into the system. will the rp2 ui boot side see it automatically and use it or can direct it to use a specific emulator? or will you have to run it on the adroid side instead? i like the ui side where i just want to scroll thru systems and see games.
Is there any way you could do this exact format except for like a GPD XD+ or (maybe) even a hacked Switch? Testing PSP will be fun to watch but even more interesting would be seeing how well GameCube or maybe Wii could run on those. I know they're not perfect and I'm in no position to request specifics but I'm debating which one would be the better one to buy when it comes to emulating most things efficiently
heya! I was wondering if you tested the game Megaman legends the misadventure of Tron Bonne and legend of legaia for the ps1. A long time ago I played these game on my cellphone but was having performance issues with Tron bonne. Legend of legaia on the other hand has this wierd glitch where it crashes when you enter a mirror in Conkram. Which is very annoying especially since it's almost near the end of the game and you need to enter the mirror to progress.
Could you check some android games in your full review please? i would like to see how stardewvalley and dont starve run before my Retroid Pocket gets here! Thanks

Turning off Frameskip on Daxter got it running almost at constant 30fps.

Can the vita emulate ps2 games? Or at least gamecube?
@@SenzuBeaner No it can't. Vita can run PSP and PSX games natively, and everything below that (SNES, MD, GB, GBA, GBC, MAME etc). But that's it.

Can this emulate any Sega Saturn games? That was THE console of my childhood.
Unfortunately not, probably not in the future. Saturn is pretty complex to emulate.
@@pfroo40 Saturn isn't that bad to emulate, just can't on this device because it doesn't support opengl es 3.0 which is what the emulators need.
A handheld that can play Sega Saturn and Dreamcast almost perfectly, is the ultimate for me.

I believe their plan is to release an OTA update for Android 8/8.1 sometime toward the end of October.

For KH, I have everything set to stock. You need to leave the starting area and the performance drastically improves.

Sadly its sold out on their site, and resellers are over pricing it more expensive than a 2nd hand switch light in my country

question: when you add different or better emulators onto the rp2 such as flycast into the system. will the rp2 ui boot side see it automatically and use it or can direct it to use a specific emulator? or will you have to run it on the adroid side instead? i like the ui side where i just want to scroll thru systems and see games.

Is there any way you could do this exact format except for like a GPD XD+ or (maybe) even a hacked Switch? Testing PSP will be fun to watch but even more interesting would be seeing how well GameCube or maybe Wii could run on those.
I know they're not perfect and I'm in no position to request specifics but I'm debating which one would be the better one to buy when it comes to emulating most things efficiently

heya! I was wondering if you tested the game Megaman legends the misadventure of Tron Bonne and legend of legaia for the ps1. A long time ago I played these game on my cellphone but was having performance issues with Tron bonne. Legend of legaia on the other hand has this wierd glitch where it crashes when you enter a mirror in Conkram. Which is very annoying especially since it's almost near the end of the game and you need to enter the mirror to progress.
I would like to know if this device can run the following games: tekken 3,panzer front,panzer front ausf b. thank you.

How are you changing the max fps? What are your setting for GOW? I get about 7fps

Can I see how you config setttings in God of War: Chains of Olympus? Best i Can do is 24/60 fps and it look like slow motion movie :(
