Amazing craftsmanship. I cannot wait to see the finished product. Carvin is rapidly becoming THE premier builder in the world. Not only their guitars, but the pro audio and amps are killer. My V3 head is the best sounding amp I have ever owned, and that's no small claim.
gumbynotpokey from the Carvin Forums here....... WOW, WOW and WOW. I am again stunned by the amount of hand work. GREAT VID BRO and WAY TO GO Carvin. :)
That was a lot of fun to watch TKK. I've worked with wood for over three decades and can tell you that the steps that they are doing are the correct ones. I noticed that a couple of people posting comments claimed that there are "short cuts" in their processes. In wood working there are sometimes multiple ways to achieve the same end goal. Not all of them are "the same" steps, so people mistake these for "short cuts" when they aren't.
really how hard would it be for a major company to do it, but no, it has always got to be the other people who are dedicated and actually care about viewers, great job man, love the footage.
The footage is great, well lit and steady. Have been on the Fender factory tour which was good but you can't see the CNC machine etc. this close. Truly hand made, can really see the value with labour/craftsmanship involved. Thanks TK
I tell you in High School I was always in band and had to play hand me downs I have so much Carvin equipment from all my years I would let Carvin take it all for just for a Show Room Guitar just in 2005 I was disabled and now I would do anything to own a Carvin Guitar and I do not care what they say I injoy your Channel.
This type of work is becoming rare in The States. Everything seems to be made over seas. I compare this company with a Harley Davidson on workmanship and quality it cant get any better then this . I don't care what company you bring up it cant. Carvin The Harley Davidson of guitars!!
Wow, I'm still impressed by the awesome work by Carvin! I was floored when I saw my carvin guitar in the case for the first time. The level of detail work on that guitar is beyond everything I've ever seen before. Compared to Suhr, Tom Anderson, Gibson, Musicman and so on. I've owned a lot of guitars.

When i was an apprentice i was told by the joiner that the glue was stronger than the wood, and after glueing many headstocks back together i have to agree with him.
Do you use basswood ever? Misha Mansoor says his bodies are cooked ,are you familiar with what he is talking about? Does it mean the moisture is cooked out?
Move to the area where a guitar factory is and start as a sanding guy. PRS is always hiring sanders. It's the only way in. These companies promote from within.
First I would say you must love it to the core. I thought I did too, but then I got a reality check of the minimum wage to start and the work load is punishing. I did it for 2.5 years and quit because we were treated like robots. Go to school if you want to, but the company I worked for had on the job training.

Wow, did not realize all the hand work done on these carvins, quality builds, thanks TTK another great video
Your coverage of Carvin is second to none. You have the best Carvin factory video, and now this? Too awesome! And that drop top is SWEET!
Best guitar build update video I've seen. Glad I live CA. I got one of each DC6/7/800 already spec out.

Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. This series is the best thing happening on youtube right now. I LOVE every single update. Great work to you, and to Carvin!

Very cool video. I own 13 Carvins, so this is like seeing behind the magic curtain for me. Can't wait to see the rest!

i love this format of following One guitars construction. makes me excited about what it's going to look like when it's finished
Interesting process. I've never seen a top bookmatched & glued to the body like that. Very efficient.

I love this the Carvin guitar videos. I have ordered a DC127 myself and waiting for it to be build. This is really good.
Joe Chen do they still build those
Totally loving this Carvin build. Looking for more! Cheers!!
I cant wait to see this guitar come home and get the demo!!
Man this is great Carvins are top notch man!!! TK I cant wait to hear this baby!!!
Great video. This will be a keeper for your collection for sure.
hermosas guitarras!!! Amigo luthier, por cada guitarra hecha, planta un árbol.
I have a second carvin that turned out awesome. I only changed the pickups.
This is too good. I was in the Carvin factory's area this weekend-closed on Sunday apparently.
I still cant believe they do all this awesome work on custom guitars, and the prices for them arent super high. I cant wait for my DC800 to be done!

Im looking forward to the paint.
Thank you for this Tone King. Thank you thank you thank you.
Incredibly insightful
Mr King. Great video! I hope the quality exceeds your expectations!
Amazing how strong the glue is to hold a guitar together.
This is an awesome video series!
Hey TTK, when can we expect the next installment of the process? I really want to see the rest!
When i was an apprentice i was told by the joiner that the glue was stronger than the wood, and after glueing many headstocks back together i have to agree with him.
vainparasite yea it is and that is amazing
Carvin knows how to do it up right. How many people were counting Robert the band saw operator's fingers?
Is there a next video yet??? I am drooling here... lol
Very nice TK..
Do you use basswood ever?
Misha Mansoor says his bodies are cooked ,are you familiar with what he is talking about?
Does it mean the moisture is cooked out?
Rock on Bro!
Any chance Carvin will be partnering up with a European distributor any time soon ?
Robert is a god!
very cool!
Hey Tone King. Don't suppose you could do this with ESP Guitars could you?
whens the next video? my dc727 will be here next week
Didn't the tone king request an inline pointed headstock? I'm seeing a reverse 3x3 pointy there.
not all their model have the same top thickness. From what i understood, the st300 have a thinner top
I want the director's cut long version.
When is the next one?
Are your woods kiln dried?
How does one get a job like this because I would love to do this as a career
ybe go to a luthiery school/ work with a local tech for awhile, then start sending out applications.
Awesome thank you dude.

Yeah, they are constantly having to hire new people. I worked there for 2.5 years. Low pay and slave driving. Runs people into the ground. A bad mix.

So if they mess up, they redo the whole body?
hey Gibson! taking notes?
Please buy a Microphone because of noise from working machines i can't hear you well.
I guess you don't know how mics work. Lol. That would amplify the noise even more.
If you use small dynamic mic with wind/noise reduction that you attach at your T-shirt. It will be better
Nope, wouldn't work. The level on has to be very high to pick up the voice. It would amplify all the noises around Jeff.
Pertamax!!
dat stache
All the wood to choose from for the body and you pick Alder. WTF!!!
I know carvins are made well and all that jazz, but I am seeing some REALLY shitty "shortcuts" on some of these steps. Needs better management imo.
Клей недомазал!
i received my carvin and it has a generic whammy bar. all their pics and paperwork say floyd rose. im very disappointed
This is a fake post. Carvin always stands behind their work. I have been buying from them since 1988.
