You have such a charming personality: happy, funny and creative. I remember in the beginning you were a bit shy, but not now! Your channel is another You Tube "hidden gem".
@@SowtheLand😅be found out that videos between 25 and 35 minutes are my favorite ones . I’ve actually studied my watching habits for many years. Videos that are shorter than 17 minutes, I rarely bother with… Over 45 is too long😂
We just recently got a local place to buy raw milk, grass fed beef, and pork, with other variety of homemade goods. So this kind of thing is becoming more popular. Imagine running a small homestead store right on your own property with Lorraine's home canning and bread making, your wood working, honey, etc.
Hi, Jason! I love your videos no matter the length. There’s a lot to be said for the quality of your videos. Thanks for all your hard work putting together your high quality videos. I absolutely love your greenhouse door. I can’t remember seeing one like this before.
Great job bracing those water pipes! It will be secure for yrs now! I am a new subscriber & I am enjoying the great content! I grew up on a 100 acre farm we grew all our own produce & meat.
I admire your tenacity in doing the work well. You have gained so many skills and seem willing to try new tasks as they present themselves without much hesitation.
Looks great! I’m excited to find that they sell end wall kits. Also, I, in my experience have found that it’s best for everyone to wear safety glasses when working with wiggle wire.
Advise from experience...On the pipe bracing, remove the sharp parts sticking out. One of these days, when you're distracted or in a hurry, one of them is going to attack. Lumber is mean that way. Been watching your channel for awhile now, started when y'all were at the other property. Subbed after 2 or 3 videos and have all notification on. I'm also subbed to the podcast, enjoying every one.
Loved this video,,,,the highlight was the JOY I heard/saw as you were packing up a customer's order from your organically raised birds! So wish we lived closer!! Thank you for sharing all that you do!
The braces look good. You're quite clever in making things look good. That greenhouse is huge. Didn't realize. Good job. And that is good quality material.
Suggestion: Cut the angle tip tops off the braces. You will get tired of getting things caught or banging buckets on the tips sticking out to catch things.
Your super powers: doing news things, explaining the process, and skillful recording it all with a sense of humour (🇨🇦 spelling). Thanksgiving is Oct 14th (since 1957) here due to our shorter growing season.
Just asuggestion, i carry a sharpie marker with me or have one close by to mark things, for box tools i also mark them with a Capitol B/S (Broken /Surplus). That when they go back in the tool box I know which one to grab (if i haven't removed it from the tool box, i can see the mark and not grab that one). Works with a little spray paint also. Saves time also when you need to grab tools but don't want to use your "good tools" ( i.e. lending them out to you brother in law that never returns them)
In the back of your mind, consider a space in your high tunnel for a table and some chairs; scrounged from someone else's discards would make them all them better. Maybe two sets, one for each end. Come some of those cooler, damper days your high tunnel maybe a good place to do garden work or read a seed catelog or simply hang out a bit.
❤ I'm really liking that wiggle wire application instead of the options I've used. Way better for not tearing plastic and getting it done quicker. Great tip to roll under for not trapping the rain!
Awesome Jason and Lorain🎉 Jason, you're so handy. And Lorain you so good in the kitchen and the garden. I love that y'all work so well together. Selling your own meat now🎉that's awesome news
Well m'dear. As a retired plumber I have been hoping to see you fix those water tanks together with connecting pipes, one at the top and one at the bottom so that they can operate as one. Relying only on the pipe connecting outlets is surely going to put a strain on it. I think you'd get more efficiency linking them so that they operate as one. I'll keep hoping!! But hey, I love your fun videos, and I thinking you are doing a great job on growing healthy animals. They and the grasses all look great to me. Keep up the good work.
I hope your knee is OK. I would imagine you have quite the bruise! I love watching your videos because you do quality work and explain things as you’re doing it, thank you!
Very nice Brace job... wise choice. I could NOT figure out the high tower door.. until.. OHHH it has ZIPPERS! 👍 Love hearing the turkeys gobbling in the background. 🦃 😊 Note: Chicken hearts are hard to find.. I sautee them with butter and Vermouth.. Mmmm. Eat em like popcorn. 😋 Yes!
Where I used to live, the back of the house was south-facing, so we ended up with a little micro climate that gave tomatoes into November. It might have been later, but I really got tired and stopped checking on them.
You should build like a little false wall recessed in about 4 feet so you have a nice 4 or 5 foot overhang. The wall could be only like 8 feet tall so you have venting at top.
High tunnel Looks very nice though All your work does , it doesn't go unnoticed . I wish you and Lorraine the very best selling your meat the store brands are not as good as organic pastured raised . The love you and Lorraine give your animals tells me everything I hope and pray one day you can sell your meat on line. I pass thru NC (east) once a year would be so worth travel west on my way back home to pick up your meat and haul it all the way back to Florida ☺❤
Today was my avg first frost date, this year no frost yet and still 65f 2 hours after sunset. You may find you need those vents on the end sooner then later, Still love the way you chose to do the beds , are you keeping them lots of short rows now you had a season to see how it goes? With that pole in the door/tarp you can hang a rope and a pulley on each end and use a pull string/rope to roll up and down the door if you get feelin fancy lol. Great job sir thanks for the vid , hope you n family had a great day.
Just an FYI, you either have some dust or a dead pixel in the upper left corner. It’s either on the lens or the CCD. When you have the background either white or blue you can really see the spot.
That door looks beautiful. Congratulations on your first sale. If I was around, chicken necks, liver, and wings would be my favorite. Part from the chicken. Too far away live in South Africa in Stellenbosch. Wine country and I don't drink wine. 😂 Have a great weekend and God bless ❤🙏
I realize the gardening pressure has been on getting beyond $5 tomatos to growing enough food for more self sustainability in at least specific food items. With a sealed greenhouse - high tunnel I sure would love to see you all do three things these next 6 months: 1) Work out a seed starting area within the green house. 2) Begin to grow herbs, perennials, and spices from seed of both the grocery store spice rack type as well as the items not found in a grocery store. 3) Begin to learn how to start items from cuttings. You've got the meat production infrastructure and systems starting to roll. It's time to step up the vegetation based items while still maintaining a budget.
Jason, You are very organized and do a good job on everything you do!
hey, thanks!
Jason, always keep the two most handy tools on any homestead, a Leatherman and a good Father-in-law! LOL
You have such a charming personality: happy, funny and creative. I remember in the beginning you were a bit shy, but not now! Your channel is another You Tube "hidden gem".
I am glad you have good father-in-law. He is a big help.
The braces for the water tanks look great and more secure for sure! Awesome video, thanks for sharing!
the best landscaper/farmer/plumber /homestead in youtube.... longer videos please ....
how long?
@@SowtheLandI think 30-45 minutes is great
@@SowtheLand I'd watch all day lol. If you want to cut down your editing time....an hour? Ish?

30 minute videos would be fantastic but I understand if you do not have the time for the extra computer work that would make. ❤❤❤
I love watching you and Lorraine work. Always something interesting and never boring.
Your father in law is a good help to you. You are blessed to have him
Congratulations Jason, Lorraine and Penelope on the growing success of your farm raised meat. Keep up the great job. 👏👏👏

You need to plant one for the crow, one for the mouse, one for the bug, one for the house.
It just occurred to me, but one of these high tunnels would be a great place for your kids to camp during the gardening off seasons lol. 😂
You keep a very neat and clean homestead!!! I really enjoy your posts

I think 20 minutes is perfect. Any longer and I usually go past because I don't have the time.
Great job bracing those water pipes! It will be secure for yrs now! I am a new subscriber & I am enjoying the great content! I grew up on a 100 acre farm we grew all our own produce & meat.

yes that looks great on water pipe support

Looking great! You may want to close up the ends of that pipe with expanding foam or something to keep wasps out.

How AWESOME it is that you're selling your own meat!?! Thanks Jason for sharing. ❤

Great addition. You got the other end no problem. It a opportunity to show your skills. Good job Jason
I so love your humor. Have you ever put together blooper real yet???????
and I am not even trying to be funny 🙃

Those zippers.
You will have to keep them lubricated.
Use white petroleum jelly.
It they are not lubricated they will jam up and break.
