Pictures of You, Just Like Heaven, Fascination Street and so many more from The Cure.
More groups like this during that era are:
Depeche Mode, Erasure, The Smiths, New Order.
Depeche Mode - Violator, is still one of my favorite albums
The Cure was also inducted into the Rock n Roll hall of fame..the are truly unique and innovative
Lots of great songs by The Cure. Good choices for next song to check out include "Just Like Heaven" and "A Forest".
Ahhh, such good memories. Love this group.... they were like my gateway drug into alternative music in the 80's/90s. 'Charlotte sometimes', Into the trees, Love cats, Fascination street, Show me, show me, show me' are all greats.
"Just Like Heaven" is their best song!!
Amazing song but I don’t think anything beats Disintegration
@@mtcnaz Just like heaven is the best pop song from the cure, but any songs from Faith and Pornography Albums are the best songs Robert SMith ever wrote.....
@@jean-christophelebachelet5926 I love both of those albums, I can’t argue I just think that disintegration may be the best guitar music ever created
Yep that's def my favorite
nah the title track off disintegration is
That “look” is legit Robert Smith. He walks the streets like that even today
One of my all time favorites
Hard to believe they've been around for 43 years and still going
Love the cure! They are definitely not metal, but Robert Smith, who really is the Cure, always has that goth/ emo look. Other cure tunes:
Just like heaven
Close to me
Fascination Street
Friday I'm in Love
Lovecats
Boys don't cry
Lullaby
Letter to Elise
i like their early stuff the best, "Boys Dont Cry' is a great compilation album of their early years
An all time favourite band of mine.
The Cure's 2019 Glastonbury set was epic.
I don't know him, never met him even, but Robert Smith strikes me as a very unassuming, humble guy with a beautiful soul.
Cool reaction, liked it 👏👏
Many many great tunes from them:
"The Love Cats" , "Boys Don't Cry" , "Pictures of You" , "Just Like Heaven" , "Lullaby" , "Friday I'm in Love" , "Disintegration"
The Cure was so fun and had the goth look going on and this band has great songs fantastic grooves and very unique vibes.
High school sweet hearts, I think. And there are many other great songs she has inspired. And I do believe he is the inspiration for Edward Scissorhands.
Here is a link to a great live version of their song "Just like Heaven" ruclips.net/video/qWDNNSSukzc/видео.html
They sing one of my happy songs -"Friday I'm in Love"
God, I still love this song so much.
I love The Cure, this song stirs such deep nostalgic feelings in me for very personal reasons.
Check out the song "A Forest", it's an amazing Cure tune. Also? You really need to react to the band Journey & "Wheel in the Sky" & of course you probably heard it but "Stone in Love" as well. Fantastic backdrop music for the 1980's, Journey was always in the top 10 hit list on every single Rock chart.
And this is exactly how they sounded live... some great records from this band over the years
Oh, if you're going to do The Cure, you should go to the beginning and listen to: Boys Don't Cry
Primary
A Forest
In Between Days
Close To Me
Just Like Heaven
Pictures of You
I love the Cure.....they took the sound of the 60's and put an 80's spin on it.......Great group...The Ziggy Star dust and David Bowie look was so great in the 80's. And that's how everyone dressed.......well not everyone....it just was more creative back then......lol....
Classic Love Song. Classic.
This band has put out some really good music.
Now you are getting into the jam of my youth. You should really dive into Depeche Mode. They are the royalty of this category with over 100 million album sales. Much like Pink Floyd, they made albums, not singles and received VERY little radio play. When you are ready to check them out, start with "Enjoy the Silence" as it was their most successful and commercially accessible song (the live in Berlin version is good if you want to see them live- recommended). They still tour and sell out stadiums worldwide.
RIGHT ON, THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES
Great song! Maybe not the best track to start them off with, but definitely a great song. I'll have to recommend "Disintegration" and "Fascination Street"
When I lived in Boston in the 80s, the Cure was a staple in the CD player
Saw these headline Glastonbury in 2019. They were amazing.
They get into the rock roll hall fame great music
Thanks for this one! Could you please do Depeche Mode - Enjoy the Silence?
"Disintegration" is my favourite album - a masterpiece ! Greets from germany.
One of my favorites by The Cure! I suggest, Fascination Street and Lullaby.
Love, love, love this song‼️ 🎶🎵❤❤
The group 311 does a really nice cover of this song.
Just Like Heaven 2019 Hall of Fame performance is the best
311 did an amazing cover of this song. It was on the 50 First Dates soundtrack.
Lullaby is my favorite. It’s got a very creepy feel to it, but in a good way.
The Smiths and The Stone Roses, two other great bands!
I grew up in the 60s and 70s listening to the rock and folk and disco from that era. When the 80s came I never really got much into the hairbands other than a couple of them like motley Crue or Cinderella. I was more into groups like Peter Gabriel solo, the Smiths, XTC, Kate Bush, the Cure and bands like that.
Ain't nobody's business by Taj Mahal
Watch me fall from Bloodflowers. I really enjoy that one.
Social Distortion - Ball and Chain. Or anything from the album "Social Distortion"
A lot of great 80's music listed below, but I will add a couple bands to your list I think you'd like a lot.
Squeeze - Maybe describe them as new wave pop meets post-punk pop
Biggest US hits are _Tempted_ and _Black Coffee in Bed_ but have have a long career of many great songs.
ABC - A pop, synth and soul fusion
Biggest hits are probably _Look of Love_ and _Be Near Me_ but they have a large catalog of quality tunes like Squeeze above
90s , ok 89 but seen them on this tour in 90.
Self-love in the 80's? Check out "I Touch Myself" by The Divinyls.
LOL... Definitely.
Great Song 👍🏻
On The road again by canned heat
If you'd like to try some live Cure, I recommend 'A Forest (live 1992)'.
Ya that’s there look
Great tune!!! I have a clip of me playing this on guitar with a live band on my channel.
Checkout THE SMITHS HOW SOON IS NOW
yeah, the Cure aren't metal, they're essentially the archetypal "Goth" band. More depressed, less angry than metal.
One hundred years, Doubt, give me it, Shiver and shake, The kiss, Splintered in her head could be angrier than a lot of metal songs, in the intention and feelings
They have some other good songs I like their late 80s stuff like Lullabye, and Friday I'm in Love.
DMB - WAREHOUSE
If you’re reacting to The Cure and The Cult I’ll definitely be subscribing to your channel try The Cure - A Forest, you won’t be disappointed
Copperhead road by Steve Earle
Adele did a beautiful cover of this song. Totally different. Doesn't sound like the same song.
When I was young by Eric burdon
Loved The Cure! I'll confess though, when I see the song title "Love Song", it reminds me of Tesla's song, too. Give Tesla - Love Song a listen. (a totally diff. song)
Summer in Paradise by the Beach boys
Most people have assumed he was gay. If you saw him in public you may not recognize him.
Mercy Mercy me the ecology the soul perfection version by Marvin Gaye
Always loved this song. Didn't care for the overly moody video
Matter trust by Billy Joel
Please react to Globus - Orchard of Mines
39-0
Not a huge fan of this tune Just Like Heaven is much better in my opinion this comes across a bit sappy there are so many great tunes by them though. Dont get me wrong its still a decent song just not in my top 20 for the Cure.
