I have loved this song for many years now. My husband and I both loved John Hiatt. My husband passed away almost three years ago. I recently moved to be closer to my children and as I was cleaning out my storage unit, preparing to move, this song came on the radio. I just sat down on a box and cried. I also said thank you to John Hiatt and thank you to my husband. I have no doubt he was there in spirit as I began this last transition. This song got the two of us through some good and some bad times...and I think I was being told it will be okay.

Imagine my surprise when my co-worker came in one day and told me he had a great time with his family the night before in Broadripple watching from the front row his uncle performing and then hanging with him afterwards backstage. I said, who's your uncle and he said, John Hiatt. I absolutely freaked out because I'd been a fan of his since the seventies, and I had no idea I had been working with his nephew for two years. This was right around the time he had released his celebrated album Bring The Family so this was very serendipitous for me. John Hiatt, if you read this tell Mike I said hello.

as a kid, grandma would take me to the plaza theater in Englewood NJ--it is now a performing arts center--i bought the least expensive balcony seat for Hiatt knowing i could move down---down i did--when he closed with this song, i was front row right--right there--wow!
