I can’t believe how amazingly well Sally did with the farrier. Considering how skittish she was initially, afraid to even come close to you to allow a touch! You have really done a wonderful job teaching her trust.

I remember when Sally came to stay with you. She was so so guarded! I remember you spending a lot of time trying to help her get comfortable with you and the herd. She is so loving and kind. She takes care of everyone. I am so glad to see her real self come out.

Sally has the most expressive face, I just love her! Okay I have a few observations/questions. It sounds like when the farrier is rasping the hoof that it is much harder than a horses hoof - is that the case? It's hard to tell if it is just due to the audio/recording. Also, a question about the frog size. The farrier wanted to see a deeper/thicker frog. How would that be achieved? More contact/impact/stimulation on variable surfaces like you would get from trail riding/general work? Or is that achieved through diet or topical products? I also noticed she did the same sort of "mustang roll" to finish off the front of each hoof like is done with barefoot horses. I thought that was interesting. I have zero experience with mules or donkeys but just love them to pieces. Thanks for sharing Sally's mani-pedi with us!

Kudos to a woman who has the grit to work as a farrier.. I'm not a farrier, however I have been shoeing my own horses for 25 years, and just acquired my first mule, and 9 year old, green broke, with size smaller feet.. and so far she has tried to bite and kick me while working with them..(She's a bit spoiled I'd say) but I eventually will get her tired of fussing, shape those feet, perhaps shoe them, and then start with some saddling and round pen work with her

That was a nice visit with you and Sally. I learned about horses vital signs during my horse therapy this week. I may have mentioned, that for now, I'm primarily working on stress reduction and recreation during horse class but I plan to resume Horsemanship focus again late winter, after moving, as the Lord wills.

You know how I love Sally!!!❤ Ever since my friend's mom rode her mule, Judy, I have loved mules!!! That was over 40 yrs ago when I was in my 20s. Her mom said riding Judy was smoother and more fun than any horse she ever rode. I'd love to see you work with Sally and ride her some!! We should get Tyler from Broncs and Donks to come break her, huh!!😁 You said you watched that RUclips podcast too. I love some of the places they go, but I'd be terrified climbing those rock cliffs on mules like they do! I'd be scared of sliding and flipping over backwards. Please show more of Sally, she's so beautiful!! And she sure loves you! Gosh, her gorgeous eyes and eyelashes!🥰 Have a great weekend👋

My mom and brothers had a mule and his name was Riley he sadly passed away last year due to old age and terminal cancer he was about 13.2 hh, we were supposed to get two male pack mules this year but due to being abused and aggressive towards other horses my mom changed her mind, the mules are located in North Carolina
