Uncle Griff, lol, you are truly a blessing! I'm fairly new in this business and I lacked confidence before my 1st signing. God allowed me to run across your videos and after watching 1, my confidence shot up through the roof. I love your transparency and appreciate you sharing your wealth of knowledge through your own personal experiences. I have your videos on repeat and the more I watch them, the more my mind is at ease. Thank you and God bless you. Please don't stop doing these videos! They are not in vain! Blessings!

This is good advice. I am notary in Central Virginia and happy to take a last minute signing if I am available. From what I can see from the Facebook post is that people are still trying to get the training under them. I've been doing this for 10 months. When I first started, I went over every document. Now I just make sure to check the names, the print looks good, and the 5 major docs are pulled to the front.

Last-minute assignments could be either a headache or a Blessing depending on multiple factors such a the size of the package, the Lender requirements, distance, level of experience, and such. Always a gamble.

"People only pay you for the problems you solve, not the ones you create". Uncle Griff, you have given me the statement of the century. In this business you're being hired to fulfill a need, and the client expects you to do that efficiently, timely, and professionally. I'm learning. Keep teaching! Great video.

I get a little choked up sometimes watching you. What comes from the heart, touches the heart. New NSA in Ohio. Appreciate your honesty, guidance, encouragement and all the things you have added to my life. Im off the click-bait, quick money crazy train. I'm part of Griff's party people now! My kids say "Hey party people it's ya man, Griff" 🤣🤣 the cutest thing! I sign #9 tomorrow. Ive had to go back twice (I forgot a non-borrowing spouse's initials on the mortgage on one and missed the last page initials of a loan mod for another signer) watch those initials and the tax forms closely now! I'll keep watching and learning from
    Griff, the GOAT

I appreciate this topic. Working full-time I would give an honest answer. Not every job is for everyone. If you're Full-time, then you signed up for this. Late docs are my achilles heel... I agree to orders in advance so when they show up late -- it's a problem for me. Once I get my mobile printing set up -- GAME ON!

Ty so much for this Sermon today!!! I was sitting in my office this morning, I am up everyday on the "ready" I am running around here talking about "I stay ready - so I never need to get ready" smdh! But I shy away from the work, because I doubt myself. I just keep practicing and studying -it's just time to do it. Crazy thing is my first assignment was a reverse mortgage application that I didn't even know I had no notarial acts to do ....sigh that is discouraging I feel that was pertinent information I should automatically know, anyhow I had/have a mentor. Just felt under knowledge in this field so I study ALOT!! people think I am in Med School at this point. I just feel it's time to go and work - You were/are very needed and inspirational (thank god I found you, Denzel Washington's motivational speech was not working lol). Thank You So Much For This.. From a complete Stranger in this weird World we all live in God Bless!.... I'm going to just jump in.....again and stay the course.

Yes I do I try to go over the docs before I go but since I’ve started 2 years ago I pretty much know what is expected of the signings but I’m not happy about last minute if the money is good I’ll do it!!!! I love to have a day to mark my doc with colored sticky notes

I take last minute ones when I'm available. I took one this past week as a matter of fact, and I didn't get the documents until about 30 minutes to meet the signer. Fortunately it was a small seller side package and I was 10 minutes from the signing location. One time I took a last minute and the signing company advised it was canceled. It's just the nature of the business

As long as you are committed to providing value you can make money in any business. To often I hear notaries complain about someone is low balling them when they don't even have experience. Take whatever signing you can get to gain experience and work your way up ! The notary business is a "grab and go" business opportunity. But most people would rather sit and complain about what they not going to take and miss there blessing.

Very helpful. That has been my concern, I've not received a signing yet that has been before 5:00PM. These evening closings have been ranging from $160 to $245.00 at 9:00 and later. It's just so dark and it's really curvy backroads out here in my part of VA. That's was my biggest draw back. Not money hungry, I'd really rather feel confident enough to do these last minute signings. You've opened my eyes. I will keep accepting them as a business owner. Thank you!

Mr Griffin, there are always so many gems in what you share. You may not even realize how helpful is your perspective and experiences. Thank you! I have a question. With all the signings you do, it seems you’re making more than $5k a month. Then I heard you say you’re working a full time job and doing this on the side?

One point is...if you don't have mobile printing you may need more time. If you out on a signing and get a request for the next few hours...you would need time to go home and print, review, and then make it to the client on time.

On the 3 closings at once (and the 5 closings in one) did you enter 3 (or 5 on the other closing) different entries in your journal?

I prep my docs on my laptop, rather than by hand. One big fear I have is not having the time to prep, in addition to having to write everything at the closing (without time to prep on computer). That, plus having to enter docs into my electronic journal at the closing table. Have never seen a video on this topic. Been at it a year or so and want to get faster at closing. Avg is an hour or so.

    • @GriffinNotary
      @GriffinNotary  3 года назад

what does prep entail for you. for me I am adding the current date and my expiration to the docs. adding my "do not sign" to the RTC and "no date" to the Note. If there is a name change on the docs. Meaning "Earl J. Jones" then is changes to "Earl Jones" to indicate that so the docs are signed properly.

With longer I would get worked up because it's like I can't tell what's happening 3 days from now but in real time I know more certain, if....the printer is good, the paper is good, the car is running good, the weather is good, my hair looks good. HA!

    • @GriffinNotary

I can't recommend how far a person should travel. That is completely up to them. Everyone lives in a different area, dealing with different traffic flows, has different car types, different tolerance with driving. That kind of advice I don't give.
