    Very impressive! Especially the quietness of the incline. Also, the running feeling is good! The sound of the steps is the pounding of the deck and it can mean shock absorption so I won't mind it.

    Thanks so much for the updated review. Your reviews are always the most in depth and well put together. You mentioned the warranty as 10 years for the frame but I thought sole offers lifetime warranty for frame motor and deck on their products. 8:05

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  3 года назад +9

      You are correct. The warranty changed on the 2021 model to 10 years rather than lifetime for frame and motor. Online it still says lifetime warranty - but it is listed as 10 years in the manual when you purchase your machine. Most manufacturers have gone this route because after 10 years, it's really hard to find parts for older treadmills. We consider this to be an issue of supplies and not a reflection of reduced quality.

    CANADIANS BEWARE : I bought a new F85 got it delivered today. No touchscreen/wifi/Netflix …..that part wasn’t made so apparent to me by Sole when I purchased it. For some odd reason, we pay the same as the US for the new F85 but we don’t get the smart features. Doesn’t make sense as to why but there it is.

    I just got delivery of my Sole F85 and I'm shocked that none of the review videos I watched prior to buying came close to describing how utterly useless the 3rd party apps enabled screen is. After a couple of hours with the screen, I realized that it should be non-contributory in the decision to buy F85 over any other treadmill. The screen design seems like something out of a pre android/iphone era. touch screen responsiveness is not so great. I couldn't sign in to my youtube because the 'server failed to connect to google'. Navigation around the apps seems awkward at best with no dedicated back button. The screen froze within this same 2 hours I used it and I had to restart the machine. when I tried to console myself that at least I could mirror my phone (seeing I would prefer navigating the apps on my phone rather than go through the pain of navigating on the sole's screen), then my shock became compounded by the fact that my phone's youtube page actually was way bigger than the sole's you tube screen (unlike my phone, the sole's screen seemed to condense the video to the center of the screen, wasting a lot of edge real estate). Again, I am yet to even try out the treadmill itself and I figure its gonna do great, but if thinking of going for F85 because of the screen, please DON'T.

    First real thorough review that I have seen of the newer model, thank you! How does the treadmill respond to changes in speed? I have read several complaints about the motor lagging the inputs when increasing or decreasing speed, have you noticed this or does it respond quickly? Also, what software version are you running? You mentioned in the comments below that you have not been having software issues which is good to hear. This seems like a great treadmill even with the quirky adjustments for speed and incline, but the many software complaints are a big red flag.

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  3 года назад +4

      The speed adjustments are slower than on other treadmills. It isn't really a lag like the machine needs time to respond, it's more that the settings have been calibrated to increase/decrease speed at a very steady pace. It makes it easy to keep running in between changes but can feel sluggish if you're doing HIIT or intervals

    • @abradic
      @abradic 3 года назад +1

      @@TreadmillReviewGuru Ok, that sounds better than some of the complaints...even someone claiming it's an injury risk which is being overly dramatic. I always look at the Horizon 7.8 AT as the other possibility but just have this feeling the SOLE is better built, more durable treadmill, and it sounds like their customer service is more responsive compared to Horizon. Wish you had addressed the volume.... I just recently purchased this machine and am having a terrible time trying to figure out how to adjust the volume when you're watching something. There are no buttons on the machine for volume other than using the touchscreen I believe. It is very difficult in the middle of running to change the volume if what you're watching changes volume or someone walks in the room and starts speaking for instance. I have four children and let's just say that happens a lot. That is one thing I am thus far super disappointed in this machine regarding. I think I can get past most everything else but no volume button is particularly frustrating.

      NordicTrack has some of the softest cushioning we've felt on treadmills. I would check out the NordicTrack X32i and X22i, they have the most amount of cushioning from the brand. The NordicTrack 2450 and 1750 have a nice amount of cushioning too, not as much as the incline trainers, but there's still a lot of shock absorption for the joints and the decks fold up.

    I watched your review after purchasing the F85 (fully acknowledging that the homework should have been done first), but I was very happy after watching your extremely thorough review, with my choice. I focused on Sole because I did not want a treadmill that came with a subscription service. As a rookie, the setup of the machine was more complicated than I would have expected. If I had to do it over, I would have paid Sole to put the machine together. I don't recall if you mentioned the ability to mirror your mobile device to the machine, but I may have missed that. I will definitely check out your web site the next time I'm looking to make an exercise purchase to see if you have reviewed it.

    I’m 6’6 and have a ceiling height of 7’7, which would give me 5” of clearance with the step-up. Is that enough room to not bonk my head? How much of an incline could I get out of it? Thanks! Always love the reviews.

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  2 года назад +1

      Great question! At 6'6" it's going to be tight for overhead clearance. You should be fine at the 8" step up height but when fully inclined, the deck lifts to about 14" off the floor, which will bring you right to your ceiling height. You can use it and just modify your incline.

    One feature that I see is the tablet/phone mirroring ability. Is that similar to casting from your tablet to the monitor? I am interested mostly in syncing with Zwift run. But it looks like I can watch Netflix on the 10" screen and then run Zwift on my tablet mounted above. Do I connect the tablet/Zwift for speed feedback through Bluetooth connection? I understand that the Zwift will not control the treadmill, just looking for speed/distance and heartrate feedback to the app. Thank you in advance, nice video...

    I don't get these fitness company's that install Android tablets in their machines and then try to limit the functionality. This is the same exact situation as the Echelon EX5-S (which uses an Android tablet). There's a proven workaround for the Echelon (to give the user full control and install apps that don't require the Google framework) and there seems to be one for the Sole (although I need to research it more).

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  2 года назад

      That's a super good point and we wish that fitness manufacturers would do the same and give users full access to the tablet. Surprisingly this is one of the more user friendly machines where the tablet actually comes with more apps than just the manufacturers subscription service. Machines like Peloton, NordicTrack and ProForm lock you into their app. Totally understand where you're coming from and would love to know if you have a follow up with the Sole work around. It depends on what you value. For those who don't want to pay for iFit training content, the Sole F85 is a great treadmill. If you enjoy training content then the F85 may not offer what you're looking for. The new 10" screen has seven external apps - and some preloaded programs - but it doesn't offer the same quality of training content you'll find with a subscription. The touchscreen won't display other platforms like Peloton classes, iFit routes, etc.

    Undecided with f80 and f85. From your reviews 3.5 motor in f80 is just ok while f85 has 4.0 and 375 weight compacity is great but f85 400 max weight is better. I'm 6'3 280 and not sure what to go with. Another thing is am I wrong... Does the f80 have a more comfortable track for shock compared to the f85 or are they the same. Disregarding the touch tablet with apps with f85... I'm more concerned about the other things and if it makes sense to save a few bucks and go with f80.. Please advise.

      The F85 has more cushioning than the F80 and it is noticeably more powerful. You can't go wrong with the F80 - but we love the new F85. If cushioning and power are considerations, we'd recommend the F85.

      Hello again. Do you recommend any other treadmills that have a 385/400 weight compacity and 3.5/4.0 preferably motor? The Soles especially f85 scare me with reviews with console issues /malfunctions. F80 has shaky reviews as well. The Horizon was even worse. I'm very hesitant to make a purchase now. Is there another brand that you can recommend that will hold up and can fold, 22x60 track? Please advise and thanks in advance.

    I’d love to see a treadmill with no subscriptions or screen. I use my iPad for content. It can run any app, is 12”, and has all kinds of connectivity.
    And I can take it with me anywhere. Why would anyone want a barely functional touch screen?

      I completely agree. The Technogym MyRun has got it right. Minimal good looking console and you optionally bring the display and your content/apps. I wish more treadmills were like this.

    I am in the market for a treadmill and it is between this F85 and the TT8 from SOLE but the only difference is $300 dollars more for the TT8 and the TT8 UNFORTUNATELY does not fold up at all. I was going to buy the NordicTrack 2450, however on Instagram it came up in my feed and I clicked on it and read about 8 or so maybe 10 people max reviews or opinions and I have never seen so many people so upset at a company as if this product cost them their lives. I mean animosity at it's finest but people get mad at the smallest things in this day and age. So I understand a complaint here and there but man people are pissed off at NordicTrack and their "Lousy Customer Service'. Parts are not available, techs are booked 2 months out or more and no one gets back to them so they can schedule a fix for their particular problem of the treadmill and on and on. So as a consumer I see this and a RED FLAG comes up in my mind to avoid NordicTrack and it now is upon me to make a more informed decision, hence why I found this RUclips video and I watched like 5 videos so far from the TreadmillReviewGuru because spending $2,100 + tax + $200 more on an extended warranty for a 5 years is about $2,500 out the door on a machine I am going to walk on when I could go outside and walk for FREE!! The only reason I want a treadmill is because here in California in the area I live in gets too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. I live in between Palm Springs and Temecula and the weather out here is insane and it rains like 10 times a year on average but for my safety I can only walk so many days under the right circumstances and the rest have to be done on the treadmill. I walk about 5 to 8 miles daily....... And furthermore it gets dark now at 5pm and it gets cold even sooner than that. I want to be able to walk at anytime including 11pm and get it as many steps as I possibly can to lose as much fat as I can, burning calories in a 24hr period. If Kristen reads this, what treadmill do you recommend between the SOLE F85 and the TT8?? I just want something that will last me a good 10 to 15 years and that is not flimsy like the Echelon Stride S model that cost $1,600 and it wobbles as I watched your video and you only weigh 125lbs. Finally I walk about 150 to 200 miles a month. I don't care much about running but I will entertain the idea of running about 5 to 6mph as I used to do if the treadmill doesn't hurt to run as it does on the concrete sidewalks do even with the best shoes out there. Thank you in advance to Kristen or anyone who responds to this long drawn out post. Have a great 2023 everyone who reads this!! ( Should I also wait the first couple of weeks of January to buy a 2023 model treadmill as well? )

    NOTE: This product works exactly as described. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxguEIMc_Qwab-3QMTpF6jaRL80hiOOsIN It originally earned a four-star review due to a minor defect (see below). However, the manufacturer's customer service rep (Lita) went above and beyond the call of duty and deserves five stars now. I wish I could give even more!I purchased this item which arrived quickly. Assembly instructions were easy to follow. There was only one problem: One bolt did not screw into the hole properly. I called the company. Their customer service rep (Lita) was terrific! She took all my information and submitted a request to replace the defective part. I'm hoping to finish assembly and start using this treadmill soon. (Fingers crossed...)FOLLOW UP: Lita called back to inform me that the company will send a replacement part AND a technician(canyoutalk)  to install it properly. AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Thank you!!
