This City of Art of History, fortified by French military architect Vauban in the 18th century, is today a UNESCO World Heritage Site precisely because of its remarkable group of fortifications built between the 18th and 20th centuries in order to improve the town's defence system.
In winter, Briançon turns into a favourite destination for ski lovers as its ski area is part of the famous Serre Chevalier ski resort.

Another one of your walks I enjoyed to be a part of. You really start to give me back some long gone memories of walking through a nice place. Thank you for taking us with you on this nightly trip through Briançon. I was a bit confused about the possible time of day you made these recordings. I thought to have heard the clock strike nine times and I saw some people sitting in a restaurant. So this seems to be that it was not taken in the middle of the night. But still so quiet and so few folks on the streets amazed me. Thanks again for your good work. I really enjoy it.
