Alex Gray's first ride on a CI MID

Minutes after picking up his new 6’7 Mid, Alex Gray took this beauty for its maiden voyage just a few minutes from our factory. Off to a great start it seems. He’s riding with 6.5” center and 3.6” sides from our CI Mid set of fins.

There are so many low-intermediate surfers who watch these clips of pros killing it on mid-lengths thinking that it's the surfboard that makes it happen.

They’re actually pretty hard to surf well, and you need a good face to make it float well

I’m one of those low-intermediate surfers and I gotta say mid-lengths are the only reason I can surf most days while my long boarding friends can’t. Why? It’s because waves are semi-catchable max 4 days a week (not blown out or dumping), in order to learn you need to push wave count, for wave count you need either paddle fitness or very very catchable waves, and to catch most semi-catchable fast-breaking waves on those you need a board that can turn faster.

Good point. I think the bottom line is that too many people aren't mastering the fundamentals on their beginner boards before "graduating" to their next surfboards. @@jeffn1384
