I have a newer version of the box, where it looks like they got rid of the plastic part of the tumbler altogether. However, your video did give me the idea that there might be some visible clue for alignment, and using a good light and magnifier, I was able to see that there is a metal shackle around the tumbler that has a visible gap in it. If you set the code so you are right in the middle of that gap, you get the same result. It is much harder to see (not sure I could have done it with the naked eye), but still possible.

You're the best man. I bought a Machir portable security case from Walmart on clearance and whoever bought it first programmed it and then returned it. The plastic behind mine was black, but I was able to find the grooves and get the box open. You're the best!

Totally worked! Thank u so much! I could even see the groove only on the right side of a couple of the numbers when I couldn’t see it on the left. It’s been two years since I set the combo on two different boxes having opened/closed them maybe twice initially. Yet the grooves were still there tho I’d rarely opened the box! I’m done with this brand/style of rolling lock box tho to store anything important or valuable. My daughter will enjoy having it to put toys and dolls in tho. Thanks. This video was a big help. I was able to get my lockbox open. I keep my pendant charms for making memorial charms for people who's pets have passed away in it. The pendants are little glass globes, and I keep them in the box so I can keep track of them and so they don't get broken, along with other supplies(pet charms, beads, feathers, leather cord, super glue, etc)
It's so hard for me to follow any kind of direction when it's told to me on something public that everyone tries to follow, but this simple direction is most definitely one of the easiest ways to follow one simple direction. So again, thank u to the individuals who have given such simple directions on how to unlock/ reset a vaultz lock box I figured out how to do so on such an embarrassing first time locking my lock box and not remembering what I set my first time passcode to in my lock box... I have owned this lock box for a good 2-3 months now and haven't even tried to unlock it due to not being a good listener or someone that pays somewhat good attention to anything lol but I must say a big thank u to the individuals who gave such awesome in guiding another first timing individual in following one simple direction.... Worked great on an old MMF Manufacturing cash box my daughter played with as a child. It did not have plastic, it had metal that was still grooved. Hard to see, so I used one of those little screw drivers from an eye glass reapair kit and I could 'feel' the groove. They all lined up at the combination 612, but it would not open. So, I moved each of the pins forward one at a time, and somewhere on the "back side" that I could not visibly see, it engaged with the locking mechanism, and worked!!! Thank you! No weed or cash, just play money my daughter used to use. :P

It was because the actual position was farther behind where I could see them, so advancing them as a group, one click at a time, finally worked! This is probably one of the most helpful videos EVER!!!! My daughter is almost 29 and she played with this cash box when she was around ten years old. She has a daughter of her own now, and I want her to play with it. Now she can. Thank you!!!

Therefore, I had to move each wheel forward, one click at the time (thus as a group), until the box opened. Thank you again for your brilliant video!!

Thank you it worked for my VAULTZ pencil case! I had locked it from scrambling the code and accidentally let go of the slide lever for changing the code!

just did this it worked. You hold a flashlight on the side of the dials to see the inner reel. keep turning each number till you see a "groove" in the white of the dial, thats the correct number. Did this on all 3 myself and found the combo. Was a brand new box but someone set the combo anyways.
After trying and trying to get my Vaultz lock box open even taking a screw driver and hammer to it. By using your tip I was able to get it open!!! yayaaaas! The groove on the plastic wheel looks like a black hyphen.
YES YES YES! This works! I have vaults cash box as shown in picture. My son did something and I couldn’t open it! I used the flashlight on my phone and looked for the “groove” on each digit! You will have to use a light and look for a small indentation on each wheel. THIS WORKS! Thank youuuuuuuu

This worked! I bought an old briefcase - think men in black style briefcase - and one side was set to 000 but I could not for the life of me figure out the other side. The dials DO NOT have as much space next to them as the box in the video has but if you push the dial over hard enough with a safety pin or whatever you're using, you will be able to see the notches. I tried many tricks on RUclips. I am able to unlock using this. Run the paper (in my case I used a flat blade) up and down the sides, as shown. It will have a smooth run up-down if its not the right combination. However, it will feel uneven/ bumpy when you turn the right combination. I unlocked an old Samsonite suitcase with metal combination keys, where the sides of the dial are tight and spaceless just like the suitcase dial in this video. Also I did not even watch the full video, I stopped and tried it on my suitcase after watching it for 1:02 secs.
Great video! I just bought the same one at a local swap meet for almost free because he did not know the combination. After watching this video, I was able to open it! You just have to slightly move the dial with a small flat screwdriver to see it.
Thank you for helping my caregiver to steal my medication. I just woke up to find it gone. I know you can't help what ppl do with the info you give & your trying to help ppl that actually have items they need & can't remember the combo it's just a shame there's ppl in the world that prey on others😢

The newer ones lack these grooves, but can still be pried open with a hammer just the same extremely easily. Wouldn't recommend storing anything important in one of these.
If you have a good light and a magnifier, you can look down the side to the axle for the tumbler, and you can actually see the metal collar around it which has a gap for the correct number. It is much harder to see than in this video, but works without prying the lock.
I saw this video trying to find the 3 code combination of my cash box. But until I saw another video where they explain to open lugagge lock. I could understand how to open my chash box. That happens when the numbers of the indentations or grooves are set but it won´t open yet. So there you need to add one number to every dial and try to open it, but if it doesn´t, continue doing it until the lock finally opens. Really helped me.

Great video! I just bought the same one at a local swap meet for almost free because he did not know the combination. After watching this video, I was able to open it! You just have to slightly move the dial with a small flat screwdriver to see it.

The newer ones lack these grooves, but can still be pried open with a hammer just the same extremely easily. Wouldn't recommend storing anything important in one of these.
If you have a good light and a magnifier, you can look down the side to the axle for the tumbler, and you can actually see the metal collar around it which has a gap for the correct number. It is much harder to see than in this video, but works without prying the lock.
I saw this video trying to find the 3 code combination of my cash box. But until I saw another video where they explain to open lugagge lock. I could understand how to open my chash box. That happens when the numbers of the indentations or grooves are set but it won´t open yet. So there you need to add one number to every dial and try to open it, but if it doesn´t, continue doing it until the lock finally opens. Really helped me.

Worked great. Though, on my Vaultz, the plastic was black, not white. Same principle applies. This will not break your Vaultz.
