- Our friend Memo dropped by with his very cool old school 65 El Camino done Memo style. He wanted to keep it close to original stuff with an upgrade motor, paint and a few other things but this is simply old school cool.

I have owned a bunch of El Camino's & Ranchero's, this one is very clean & old school original, dude did a terrific job bringing it back to life, nice!
I had a 65 El Camino in high school in the late 80's. That was a fun car. Had a 327 with a powerglide, and yes it had the floor shifter and the Chevelle center console, and Chevelle low back bucket seats. I did upgrade it to power steering, but it was drums all around.
No compromises when you drive an El Camino. It needs to make a return.
I bet it will be dorky as hell if they ever do bring it back...

I absolutely love these subtle restomods. I always use that mindset when I'm restoring my bikes. This thing is an amazing build though, 100/10 in my book.

Yea no way. It sounds just like the 327s I've had. All show and no go. Barely chirp the tires.

I bet it’s set up low compression and there goes the torque. My 68 impala 327/275 would walk that truck.
I can't wait to finish my '65 El Camino, yours is very nice! Mine needs a lot of work too and i'm working on a very limited budget so I hope I can finish in a couple years and drive it forever!

Your El Camino is so right. Love all the original SS interior from the Impala seats Malibu console and steering wheel. Plus that 327 sounds great
Nice, really needs a man pedal (clutch and manual trans), I had a '65 Malibu SS (327/4-speed) that was one of my favorite cars ever.
Absolutely I had a 65 with a 4spd I kind of ruined it by carrying some heavy stuff . Had it till 76 it was a gear head’s delight all sorts of LDS rear ends and other stuff was available like Hurst shifter how fun was that to chirp the tires in all 4 gears I always had a hot blonde next to me and gave me a reason to put it in 4th
This thing is sick! Love everything about it. Something about those old school poverty hub caps that just do it for me.

@@Mathfuw Thanks for asking... It Starts, Runs & Drives👌🏾 I haven’t done anything else at this point, I have a kid in college & a few other things going on... I did buy a new Complete Wire Harness from Southwest Performance; it’ll get rewired in the next month or so...

That car is perfect! I love the color and the fact its got a 327. But Memo, there's no way that little mouse makes what you claim. It sounds every bit of 400HP. We can bet if you're interested... I'll put my house up against your pink slip.

Nice Elco, I had a '65 Malibu SS (home built L72/4-speed), mine was dark green, black interior, black wheels with '68 dog dishes, one of my favorite cars (shouldn't of let get away)

My first car! Or truck... mine had a 327. 3 speed on the column , it was gold color. Someone stole it and crashed it into the neighbors firebird😢😢. Absolutely love your El Camino Moe!
Nothing wrong with a clean catalogue car.
Love the exhaust noise. Loud is good and exciting but this kind of subtle growl is what I'd aim for.
My first car was a 64 Elcamino, I wish it was half as nice as that one.

Gotta Agree with Bobby Bentley.. 500hp streeeetch. 327 with just dart heads. I have the same year. 350, Vortec head , flat tops, Comp 268HE cam (not crazy). No stall with 700r4, 3.73 posi. If I launch it hard like he did just smoke and hard second. I am probably 350hp possibly.. Nice car though .. Like the interior !
