WETA definitely one of the BEST NZ ROCK BANDS!!! Can't believe it's been 20 years since this came out, inspired me and many others, excellent live band, hope they put together a WETA Bio/Docu, bring on the FEB release! Thankyou WETA/TOKONA - RIP e hoa
Their 2001 tour with Shihad & Fur Patrol still rates as one of my all time favorite concerts. Wish they had released more music but Aaron's passing makes me cherish the Geographica album even more. An NZ and musical treasure to me, 20 years on still love you guys.
Hey brother hadoes from Vivian street days the valve my hart still bleeds was freinds with tuma and Antony Aron’s brother wats a sad good bye ✌️ my teen Rockin days was weta tadpole shihad fur patrol etc whe rock shop was Marion street and head like a hole smash out there sing on the roof top was watching from Tiffany’s slash liks roof myself to catch the view
They released an album Geographica in 2000, which is being re-released this month. They broke up in 2001 and went separate ways. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weta_(band) The lead singer, Aaron Tokona passed away last year sadly.
They split up in 2001 after recording their album. Then breifly reformed in 2008 before splitting again. The lead singer unfortunately passed away last year. I would've loved to see these guys live but I was too young for to see them!
I used to watch them in the front bar at the espy in st kilda in the late 90s. Had no idea they released anything. They were known as a great live act.
mmm, I don't think so. I bought Natural Compression in 1999 on CD and just started listening to this song off it again this last week, and it's the same as on this video. Maybe you heard a pre-release or cassette version, or maybe you just remember it differently ..

Aaron had some mental health issues. There's an interview on RadioNZ, awesome listen.

Yeah the version on Natural Compression and the version on Geographica have distinctly different sounds. This sounds like NC version.
What is a ju and how do you get one?
Apart from being Japanese for the number ten, I don't know what it is.
@@pauljordan4452 ju is short for juju which can be interpreted in different ways
Ju is wat u make it to be a feeling of wat Eva
@@DoomRizzst Thanks mate. Apparently it's a West African religious object.
Got the Juju lip , means poking your bottom lip out and being in a huffy mood
