Arguably the best silhouette break up pattern you’ve done so far. When you move you lose your outline and the colors and patterns work close and at distances. Amazing.
This is a really great example of macro and micro patterns working together to work at multiple distances. The colors are pretty spot on for this environment too. Still, I was able to make out human silhouettes for most of them to see him. I don't think anyone would notice him if they didn't know to look, but if you know what you're looking for it's rather easy.
The private sector has always been king of camo. In WW2 troops bought duck camo from Sears to use. It was authorised much later by the War Department. The Officers did not care about regulations before they got approved. They wore them also. Grandpa still has his Duck camo with a 101st Airborne patch on it.
Brent, this IS the Best Camo I've seen yet for our Texas area. I study these videos when you put them out and this was very very challenging for me to find you (almost 2 hrs studying). You Done Real Good in this Camo.
@@Brent0331 I'm thinking of getting 1 Kryptek Highlander Boonie Hat as well as 1 Kryptek Mandrake Boonie Hat someday with matching Kryptek Camo MOLLE Pouches 2 attach 2 them & Solid Color Clothing that are an exact match or as close 2 an exact match as they're ever going 2 get 2 the colors on both patterns!
@@Brent0331 I already have my 2 full Camo outfits picked out so I don't need anymore full Camo outfits than 2 & the 2 Camo outfits I picked out 4 my self are mostly Russian SURPAT the original & mostly the old school US M81 Woodland 4 a bit more variety!
I was searching for a good camo pattern for hunting in North Texas and the Highlander pattern came highly recommended so I bought a few things and couldn’t be happier. Blends in very well with the browns and sage greens and tans in the fall/winter.
It really sucks under IR. Old school woodland from the 80s/90s works much better under nods in my opinion. Marpat is worthless as well but the chocolate chip desert camo blends in well under IR. My guess is that after 9/11 the emphasis wasn't on hiding from peer adversaries and instead on blind as bat hajis 🤷♂️
@@SkeezyFPV I'm pretty sure 95%+ of Kryptek buyers are using the camo to look cool and hide from birds, not Spetsnaz, so the Highlander pattern should serve them very well.
@@terpdx not a single camouflage will hide you from artillery and the armored personnel carrier thermal imager. Combined arms combat is scary and that's another story. But in general, this camouflage is not worse than many. Denying reality just because camouflage looks like a toy is snobbery.
@@SkeezyFPV So the pattern actually doesn't matter that much under IR. The inks and material used is what really matters there. You can buy the same chocolate chip desert camo from three different companies and they might all look completely different under IR.
Great pattern! Seriously impressive!! I love camouflage effectiveness videos! You are definitely the master in this category! Keep up the great work!😎🇺🇸💪
I re-watched this and only found you once at the 4:30 mark. I love this pattern for Indiana as well during fall/winter/spring. It's definitely my favorite pattern and for nearly half the year it's the best.
If you did these for 1 hour it would still be just as much fun. If you did longer ones you could have 2 or 3 man teams, decked out in the same or different patterns, hidden in the same scenery, and see who gets spotted more often. I'd keep scorecards for those. This is the most badass cool series of videos!
SON OF A ................. Dam, I was even pausing the video for more time. This camo is good. Fits the environment very well. I'm going to save this in Watch later and look at it again over the weekend. I don't forsee any different results. I seen ZERO, GUESSED ZERO.
This was the hardest one byfar. I only spotted you twice and one of them was just a wild guess. Probably the most effective camo for this time of year.
first one was excellent placement of the body. Second one was easily spottable (tree cancer phenomenon) Third one was decent for directional concealment towards the camera, as your darker silhouette blended well into terrain height difference and many would have mistaken you for a tree stump. I suggest going near a fallen tree for this kind of concealment, it really works well with dead trees beside you for additional big-picture blending Fourth one was excellent overall Fith one was easily spottable because of dark shadows, suggesting doing that position in a ditch, if no shadows are naturally available that might hide your darker silhouette. Sixth one was excellent usage of dead wood as blending into the surroundings (very close to third one, but much less spottable) Seventh one was unnatural silhouette and thus easily spottable. Eighth one was again tree cancer phenomenon and thus easily spottable Nineth one was excellent usage of shadows and well done despite the close proximity to the camera. Spottable but very well done. Only suggestion: using the ditch in the middle of the screen for less height variance between shooter and surroundings. Tenth one was strange, but fine. Suggesting a three yard shift left for again less height variance between shooter and surroundings and more cover by underbrush Eleventh one was excellent. Sorry, if my english doesn't explain it well enough, I'm not a native speaker. Given the fact that this isn't a Ghillie suit, but only classic camouflage clothing, I'd call it phenomenal. Insanely effective at breaking up the silhouette. Light and height changes in terrain are somewhat visible, yet this is true for anything short of a well-made Ghillie suit and prepared/concealed ambush/sniper position. Very good camouflage, very good skills. Man almost invisible.
I have possibly 2k worth of kryptek gear in my closet. It is not just the best fall winter camo for mid america, but the bar none best cold weather gear I have ever used. Kryptek is the shit.
This pattern sure works great in the Northeast Kansas Fall/Winter woods as well. I have a set I wear for deer hunting and have been very impressed with them. Great vid!
I picked up a northern leaf 3D ghillie suit from military clothing for deer season this winter. We have a lot of grays in western PA and I had deer walk up on me while sitting next to a tree numerous times. Needless to say this was my best season ever. They would come within 10 yds from me and only get spooked when I go to aim my bow. That would've worked nice where you're at Brent.
Yeah, Highlander is the best military pattern you can get, but you're not going to beat a good hunting pattern. Realtree's Xtra patterns work flawlessly here in northern Indiana and from what I've seen the 3D suits work even better - what pattern do you have for your 3D "leafy" suit?
Man! That was impressive. Would love to see vids for their other camos; especially Mandrake (although I'm sure that is equally impressive for it's intended environs).
ColtCommander45 Yeah I mean even the first couple seconds where he’s just sitting there and talking you can see how well it blends. Seems like an awesome pattern and now I’ve got to look into more (and see if they make a greener one for up here in PA).
Thanks for upload videos where you rely on camo rather than cover... i'v seen videos where people could be wearing bright neon pink but you wouldn't see them because they hide in dead ground, which of course isn't really testing the effectiveness of the patterns. Great channel BTW.
Excellent pattern! Thank you for doing a video on this one! 😎 If possible it would be nice to see the other Kryptek patterns such as Mandrake. Thanks again.
Wow I think this is the first video i didn’t spot u most of the time ( just because green hardly ever matches) in fact I guessed wrong ever time great video and awesome camo

Same here in northern Indiana. The only better pattern for our area is Realtree Xtra, but if you're gonna go with a military style pattern Highlander or Mandrake are the way to go.
Really good for this environment, as I see it. Nice break up and color match. A little "shiny" sometimes when hit by direct sunlight but else super good. Maybe a candidate for the desert trip, if the suitcase is not all ready full?? One of the "Christmas presents" as far as I remember, so I have been looking forward to this test for a long time. :o) Nice Day!!!!!
Yup, sure was one of the Christmas presents. There's only one more of those left for me to deliver from that batch (MC Tropic). Suit case is too heavy as it is already for that trip.
Sweet. I have a feeling 'Nomad' would be a slight touch more effective due to the lack of green in the environment. But never the less, Highlander does a great job.
