Finally able to put all these Dark Wolf Ultra or Black Knight II BFS reel variants to the test.. we'll compare the shallow spools against the DWU and 2022 22 Shimano Aldebaran bfs XG and start off with the deep spool...

Thanks for sucking it up and doing a valuable video even though you are still sick. I'm hoping it isn't covid, that can take a long time to get rid of.
For you and your subscribers, I'll mention that I have been doing some cast testing on the $20.00 green reel and while it is about as good as the better reels on weights of 4 G and higher, I simply cant get it to cast 3.5G and lower without constantly backlashing. That is a shame because I wanted to give it and a UL rod to my nephew who uses 2G crappie jigs to catch Peacock bass in south Florida.

Love your work BnB.I have cast these reels extensively and unless you are into tiny bfs stuff,the deeper spool one fishes better.
The brakes because of surface area are stronger and you have more range.
Also the shallow ones if Birdsnest the line goes behind the spool something chronic The deep spool one doesnt.

Thanks Charlie for the test, for me, I'm throwing mainly 3-5 g lures so looks like the Acura's will suffice. The aldebaran handles everything a lot smoother in my opinion but yes it's expensive. From your tests I'm wondering if the brakes or magnets are all calibrated equally between reels?.... Hmmm 🤔

Apparently the deeper spools require less braking dial... I'm guessing more metal closer to the magnets already

Does the shallow spool on Acura have no advantage in terms of throwing distance of the 1.7 gram lure over the deep spool? More or less the same distance (middle of the street?) for the shallow and deep spool?

The shallow spool works better than deep spool for the lighter baits.. it's not quite as good as the Dark Wolf Ultra but gets the job done

Very useful video Thank you. I have 4 DWU all unused. I will sell 2 and pick up a couple of Accuras. How do you tell the difference between the 2 types of DWU. The box on mine
states kl-50sl.
