What Blu-ray player are you hooked up to? I can’t seem to figure out how to get my Sony 4k udh 3d player and the atom to play 3d. Its split screening the image and I don’t have any other options that I can find
Dangbei doesn't break anymore than Epson, Benq, etc. They use the same DLP chips as everyone else so whatever the reliability of the chip is the same. Optoma is probably worse in terms of reliability.
Very nice review. How would this projector work when just projecting on to a white wall surface? Another words it's great that a $900 projector can look like a million bucks when projected on my $2500.00 Stewart Greyhawk G4 120" gain 0.9 projector screen(full control of ambient lighting). Now back to reality. There are two parts to the projection on the go problem, compact quality projector you can throw in your suitcase Dangbei Atom (check). Now where is the equivalent pack it up projection screen you can fold and put in your suitcase, with same quality as the screen you guys hang on your walls? I would be happy with a pack and go easy to erect 100" screen that can quickly be set up on your hotel room dresser or coffee table, on a conference room table etc quickly and easy. Now we're getting somewhere. How good generally speaking would the Dangbei be when projected on a relative smooth (not a bunch or ripples or irregularities) matt like finish white wall surface with good control over ambient light, like in a Hotel Room. It would be good if you guys did a special on easy pack screens that will fit in your standard sized (27" x 21" x 14") check bag luggage for airlines. There again $5K Projection Screen, great ambient light control many projectors are going to look good. So what, most people looking to buy a $900 cheap projector are not going to have an expensive permanent wall mount projection screen. They'll be using white walls in their house or in the Hotel room for their projection needs. maybe a white sheet of big foam board for watching sports games in the covered patio in the evening or at night while barbequing etc.
I've had a Dangbei Atom for about seven weeks now (which I bought!) and can confirm that it does indeed project a gorgeous image on a "proper" projection screen as well as on a flat white painted wall. As the Atom is not an ultra short throw projector, ALR screen material might not be the best choice. That said, I've been using mine with a 110" floor-rising ALR screen and the image is beautiful. My 100" Elite matte CineWhite screen might be marginally a better match for the Atom but, without a side-by-side comparison of matte vs. ALR, it's hard to reach a definitive conclusion. Both look great as does the image on a white wall.
Hello JENN aka Mrs B the Installer.😊
Best review of this I’ve seen.
Thank you guys. Very nice and fair review.
Hey B, could you do a projector review across different price ranges? under 100, 100-250, etc, etc?
What is the screen being used?
Great review. Can you show set-up options for the best view? How close to the screen does it need to be, ect?
Would it be just as easy to connect a bluetooth soundbar to the Atom since it has BT? Also, would there be any audio/video lag?

Have you done the cinebeam q
Its a chinese Dangbei. They make good laser projector but I don't know if they would last and break

Would this work in the backyard at night
Thanks
Can you connect it to a soundbar via bluetooth? I don't think so.
Yes, Atom supports to connect to a soundbar via Bluetooth or HDMI.
Hello from France
Can u project it from a side? Hmm

HDR not supported on HDMI input correct?
Correct. HDR is only supported on HDR streaming content with this projector.
