DIY Barbie Dining Room Table & Chairs | How to Make Dollhouse Furniture | 1:6 Scale | Handmade Craft

Here's a Queen Anne style dining table and chairs set DIY craft just in time for Thanksgiving dinner. There was a little bit more trial and error with this one as I had no idea how I was going to make the curved leg shape until I did it, failed, and did it over again... and again. What is crafting if not problem solving? I made a similar chair in my previous Ruby Red Siblies unboxing video which is what inspired this craft. While researching I noticed that the chairs at the head of the table had arms while the others did not, something I probably should have noticed before now but didn't, so I made sure to include that little detail. And a note for the youtubers that take inspiration from my crafts soley to half-ass and bank off of, it's not about adding details for the sake of details, it's about including details that make sense. If you're looking for inspiration, look to the real world. It's the best source.

What a cool project! Back in 1972 when my great uncle built my Barbie house he went through several trials before he was satisfied with the dining chairs. He was working in plywood with a scroll saw and an Ethan Allen furniture catalog. The table is a 4" plant pot with a plywood top. Your dining furniture looks remarkably like my mother's actual furniture. You're very skilled!

This was really clever! I would've liked to have you talk through the video, though. Did you put thread or wire into the frame of the chairs? Could you tell us why? Thanks!

There is wire in the chairs to help with stability and it also allowed me to angle the back and legs of the chairs. Real chairs tend not to be totally upright but usual curve around or are angled slightly backwards, so I like to make chairs, benches, etc. with an angled back for comfort 😉

Thank you. Sorry, I don't have anything for sale. But if you are looking for a Barbie sized dining set there is a brand called "My Fancy Life" or "Gloria" that makes pink and white dining sets. Some people will purchase those and spray paint them more natural colors.
