Inspired by the Colorado Floods of Sept. 2013, "Rise" was written just days afterward while the floodwaters were still subsiding. It features guest performances by fellow musicians from the Planet Bluegrass Rocky Mountain Folks Festival and Song School including: Kai Welch (Abigail Washburn), Tim Burlingame (Sweet Talk Radio), Megan Burtt and Danya River.
