Thank you for sharing this. Recently, I experienced a pulmonary embolism (PE) about a week ago in May. Additionally, I had pneumonia approximately 20 years ago. Currently, I have blood clots throughout both lungs, with the most severe ones on the left side. Interestingly, this episode began while I was riding my bike about two weeks ago. Prior to that, in March, I visited the Emergency department due to chest pain, and at that time, I was diagnosed with costochondritis. In January, I broke five ribs during a skiing accident. The pain was so intense I was bedridden for a couple of weeks and mostly immobile after that. Given my symptoms, I suspect that my PE may be related to deep vein thrombosis (DVT), especially since I experienced intense pain and occasional discomfort in my right calf after breaking my ribs. EDIT: for clarity
Sorry to hear you’re going through this. They should do some testing to see if your clots were provoked by anything else just to be sure. Hopefully not and the lack of movement is all that is to blame. Good luck with your recovery.
@@MelsHealth Thank you. Yes, they're doing more testing over the next few weeks to diagnose the causes. I watched a few more videos: I am sorry that, years later, you are still having breathing problems.
Wondering how u r now. I’m not long out of hospital for a pe I collapsed they took me to hospital I required oxygen and spent 6.5 weeks In hospital with the pe and anaemia I’m home now. My anaemia is good the blood clots r gone and just inflammation and scarring left on lungs which causes still low o2 levels on walking round touch wood im ok now when sitting
Hi, I actually just recently made a follow up video of what is going on with me now - ruclips.net/video/uiS17DRrhGY/видео.htmlfeature=shared In short, things are still going on for me unfortunately. The clots did eventually clear which was shown by a CT scan but I recently had a follow up VQ scan which showed the blood flow never returned to a large portion of both lungs. I am waiting for an appointment with a respiratory specialist and will do another update after that. In general I have slight pains every day, I get tired very easily and I get out of breath very quickly.
Hi, I didn’t have any DVTs no. I had ultrasounds the first full day I was in hospital but they didn’t see anything in my legs. I also had no signs or symptoms of dvt; I wasn’t swollen, red or warm anywhere. I was out on a bike ride like everything normal until I suddenly had severe breathlessness so no other warning sides prior.
@@johnlloydencabo.pacardo997 My chest was very tight yes. I had pain the the top left part of my back near my shoulder blade mainly. Just all round very difficult to breathe. Everything was very tight including my collarbones, neck and jaw.
Hi there :) I had shortness of breath noticeably for about 3 months or so but I went for regular walks and light bike rides to get some fitness back. To this day (16 months out) I am still fatiguing really fast and get some form of pain everyday. I do have permanently damaged lungs so it is likely I will always feel some form of discomfort but I am a world away from when I was first diagnosed, I am a lot better. - Hope you are ok!
@@MelsHealth I hope you can help me too🥺 I had covid back April 23 2021 severe covid i have type 2 diabetes heart failure kidney failure Gerd and last august 27 2021 i tested positive again with COVID-19 and leaved me DVT & PE hope you can Help me🥺
@@AkosiGab21 Hi, I started going out for short walks the week afer I came home from hospital. It was really difficult to walk short distances so I had a lot of rests. I would walk around the block for around 15-20 mins with lots of rest stops. It greadually got better over time and I was back to riding my bike about a month after.
I wear a RoadID bracelet. It has my name, my wife's name and phone number, that I have a PE DVT, on Eliquis apixaban and my blood type. Emergency responders at least want to know if you're on an anticoagulant.

Do you wear a bracelet saying that you are taking anticoagulant?
I don't have one no, I have thought about it. Do you have one?

I would especially consider a bracelet saying you're on anticoagulants, seeing you post numbers on the FB Embolism to Exercise page. ❤️
