How To Check Furnace Actual Capacity vs. Rated Capacity

Checking actual furnace capacity can help determine how well the furnace is actually performing as compared to its the rated capacity. This is a simple test that can be performed relatively quick with the right tools and every HVAC/furnace technician should be aware of its value. In this video we utilized two Testo 605i smart probers in conjunction with the Testo Smart app. One major component needed is airflow, you must measure the air flow or look it up in the furnace airflow tables as we did in this video and enter it into the app.

That's for sensible heat only. The equation using delta enthalpy should be used.

Would you please share with me the brand of the 'coffin box' or filter box and stand assembly that the unit is sitting on? I really like that design and the brand I am using for my clients doesn't look at well built as that one. I install 5" filters in my units that I install and that looks like a great setup.
