I miss this band! They were great! I got to see them live several times, always put on a good show. I still have all 3 of their albums and still play them.
I was working as a manager at a Sam Goody music store when a promo copy of this CD was sent to the store a few weeks prior to its' release date. It looked cool, so I threw it on the CD to play throughout the store. Holy shit! My mind was blown! Such a cool, unique sound and Aimee has such a great voice. The CD didn't leave my car's CD player for months after that. It took me a minute to realize that Aimee was also in Human Waste Project who had seen live with Coal Chamber a few years prior to the release of this CD. Pretty cool. The Start should have been huge. To this day I still own all of their CDs.
Nice! I don't have any of their records but back then I was still on a quest to own the entire Bad Religion, NOFX, and Pennywise discography. So I was distracted haha. I think this was five or so years late. Or early, depending on how you look at it. Late 2001 was the beginning of the Nu-Metal/Butt Rock era so they didn't stand a chance against any of that. If this came out in late 2005, however...we would be talking about this band ruling the airwaves, not My Chemical Romance, 30 Seconds to Mars, or any other emo mall band in 2006. It's the same with the late 90s. Put this band in with all the fantastic chick rock bands that started coming out in 1996-1997 and everyone would add this right to their Veruca Salt and Fiona Apple records, myself included haha.
i got into human waste project weeks ago, and E-Lux is such an incredibly under rated album and i love the whole thing, Aimee is such an under rated vocalist and im addicted to the album, im getting into theSTART's stuff at the moment and this song is pretty awesome
Seriously probably in my Top 10 Favorite Songs of All Time! I remember standing outside of the Troubadour telling their manager, “WHY ISN’T THIS SONG JUST MASSIVE?” Good to see it up here - never actually saw the video before! Love Taproot’s original drummer :)
Ever hear of the band Snot? Jamie Miller (guitarist in The Start) was the drummer to that band. They were a killer band! Sadly their lead singer died after a few years of starting the band so they only had one album
Can’t find this album anywhere anymore. Came here to say I’m grateful for at lease this song to pop up on RUclips. Saw them life with sugar ray in like 2002 lol
In the summer that it was released I heard the song about four times on my local alternative station & after that, never again. Song should have been bigger.
I love this song. Wish I could find their cover of Cities in Dust still. Surprised the hell out of me that I loved it as much as I did, but I lost it long ago.
Hard to believe it's been 20 damn years since I saw/heard of this for the first time. I was a freshman in college when this came out, where has the time gone?
I hate that the Shakedown album isn’t on Spotify 😩
It breaks my heart every time I look for it too. None of the realllly really good shit is there...

This song deserved to be so much bigger! For me it brings back some great memories.

Time flies! Was that when Lunarclick opened for them? I was definitely there.
This band and this album got me though some tough times as freshman in Highschool.
This band was soooo dang good, and I was a death metal fan. Tells you how good they were

I used to follow them to all there shows in LA. I remember when they would invite all the audience up on stage! Such great shows

Ebay has several and Amazon has them as well
The start is an awesome band and Aimee echo is such a lovely person... She is my friend in Facebook and I feel proud about it... 😊
Miss this band.
they really were just amazing live, this was the soundtrack of my youth.
This song was hard to find in the days when it was released
This song fucking ROCKS and it's a damn shame they've been largely forgotten. Makes me sad.
This was the best lineup, they had the most energy and they were the most fun to party with :)
I got The Hard Drive CD when I was a teenager and this was my favorite track on it. This and Glimmerman were on it and The Start is just awesome!
I friggin love this song.

those days were so prolific with great songs. imagine this being released now
omg the Start were one of my favorite bands. So glad this is here
I heard of The Start through Johnny Wolf of Canada, today... I'm a new sub, years late....
This is actually a better quality video than the one of originally uploaded.
Hard to believe it's been 20 damn years since I saw/heard of this for the first time. I was a freshman in college when this came out, where has the time gone?
That voice and that mufuckin BASS!!

Lil sweetness…
how is this song not on Apple Music/Spotify
Easily could have been Harley's love song. This band should have been big!
why is this STILL NOT ON SPOTIFY 🫦😫😤
