Also, that was in early 2011, right in the middle of a violent upheaval. There's a reason why they stated that when they first wanted to go to Egypt, it was considered unsafe for tourists. Things have changed - for tourists, not necessarily for the better for Egyptians as it came at the price of a brutal military crackdown. Most of the interior of the Sinai and maybe some other areas should still be avoided but in the more central regions, it's much safer these days.
We went travelling for a year and 6 months in decided to visit egypt for 3 weeks. We kept changing our mind because of fears, our family were nervous about us going, but eventually we went. We ended up staying 3 months there, longer than any other place. It had its (harmless) problems but was one of the most incredible places with the most brilliant people, landscape, learning curves....it will always and forever be in my heart. That's hard to realise when all us westerners see about these places are the terrible things on the news. But that's a twisted, limited, minority view. Keep your minds open ❤
Flying The Nest honestly, cairo was probably one of my fav cities EVER - it was like stepping back in time (you must visit the zamalek area and also eat at a gad restaurant) but we bumped into some people in luxor by accident and they rented us an apartment on the nile on the west bank for 2 months! Indescribable. Best temples: habu (at dusk) and karnak (at dawn)
Alexandria my city is having its own pleasure. Seashore, yacht travel, Palaces, museums and special local food such as kuskus in milk and honey with cream, nevertheless all types of fish and sea food
Never travel to egypt alone. At the very least have your boyfriend / brother / father with you and go with a good tour guide. Most of the stories I've read are about sexual harassment and people hustling for tips for any small thing they help you with.

I couldn't agree more about the media putting a certain 'image' on a place, you truly have to stay open wide :) I have never seen an Egypt vlog before, so this was super eye opening, and as always, thank you for sharing your experience! I enjoyed every moment of it, so happy that you are getting more and more recognition ❤️
Egypt is very safe. We went in February of 2017 for 14 days and had a great time. We also went on a tour. I hope you get to see Abu Simbel as well as the pyramids.
As an Egyptian who lived through the prime of tourism, the revolution and destructive situations, I could tell you that Egypt has always been safe, however, we can all agree that media was exaggerating situations and yes incidents happened but they always happen everywhere all the time, it was just what the media wanted to display the most for whatever political reasons, I am happy that you could safely visit Egypt and yes the psychological state plays the biggest part, I hope it becomes even safer and safer
Indeed, I recommended my friends against visiting Egypt during that time, however, I am saying that the impact on tourism shouldn't have lasted all these years, my brother was one of the guys who had to protect our own homes because of lack of police!!! I am talking about the media exaggeration and that tourism has been ultimately destroyed for many years after that @@hassouss4512
Victoria R yes, and i can easily say it’s safer than istanbul, paris and the US. in istanbul all my father’s money was stolen during a visit to istanbul with seven of his friends. two shopping bags and my phone got stolen in paris. the US i can say, because a lot of my relatives who are US citizens say so. i have lived in egypt my whole life, and no, I haven’t had anything stolen, haven’t been groped by a man, haven’t gotten food poisoning from local food, and i can safely walk in the streets as a woman at 12 am. so keep your ignorance and your little media bubble aside. damn y’all blindly believe all your fake western media it’s embarrassing.

The Palestine that you refer to is currently not yet exists, in order to refer it as a country it must have a territory, population, government, recognition and independence. It has the first four but it is still not independent since Israel is the current ruler of Gaza and the West bank. In addition, the electricity and water provision to Gaza and West bank are provided by Israel (mostly without paying for it) . So meanwhile, Palestine as a country does not exist. The nation Palestine does exist but it has no country.
I absolutely loved watching this and can’t wait to follow the series. I have been obsessed with Egypt and Egyptology since I was a little girl and always dreamed of visiting one day. I went to Cyprus around 14yrs ago and noticed day trips to Cairo with flights only an hour long....I jumped at the chance! It was totally manic but we got to see and do so much in nearly 24hrs. I would love to go back one day and spend more time exploring but never thought it could be possible, it’s so lovely to see you do a series like this as it will no doubt spark my enthusiasm to go again. Your emotions at the sight of seeing the pyramids were exactly like mine, you can’t help it, a dream come true. Enjoy guys xx
Living here, loving it, feel safer here than Dublin where im from. People are really lovely. If you ever get the chance come to this beautiful country. The Pyramids are amazing and the Museum is incredible.
You're welcome Krysti :) Have you ever been to Alexandria ? The most ancient and metropolitan city in the Mediterranean sea or Hurghada in the Red sea ?
Its sad that almost all the foreigner can come easily to Egypt with and without visas, but for us Egyptians its way more difficult. You need a visa to go to most countries and the embassies usually refuse, especially European countries and of course your country Australia
Jess’s reaction when she realised the pyramids were in the distance would be my reaction too ! I’ve always been so fascinated with Egyptian history and it’s at the top of my bucket list !! sooooo excited for the rest of the episodes 😍😍😭
I’m actually from egypt and just came back from a trip!! The media makes it seem so much more dangerous than it really is, but i’m soo glad you guys liked it!!!
YAY‼️‼️‼️ 🇪🇬 EGYPT‼️‼️‼️ I’m so happy that you both have made it there finally!!! So excited to see new videos when you get a free moment❣️ Be safe & enjoy!!👏🏻🇨🇦👏🏻
Just wanted to tell you--I have always wanted to go to Egypt, but I was a little nervous...I found your channel while searching for travel ideas and was inspired by your Egypt vlogs! So I booked the trip! Now we've just returned from an incredible week in Egypt, and I wanted to thank you for the inspiration to GO!!! Love you guys :)
Thanks mate :) hope you can get out there one day! Absolutely loved our trip and can't wait to show you more of Egypt to try and convince you to go ;-) haha
Egypt is amazing and safe. Such friendly and kind people. Lots of fun stuff to do and so full of energy in the atmosphere. I was never tired , i was always energized being there. Btw My husband is Egyptian 🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬
First of all, when you pronounce the letter P in your language then you may be able to convince. In Arabic you do not have the letter P, so you use the letter B instead Your knowledge ... ignorant Muslims. The land of Israel was conquered by the Romans, and the Romans changed the name of the Land of Israel to Palestine, which would not be the mention of the Land of Israel anymore. But what to do? The Land of Israel was promised to the Israelites from the name of our God. So no matter how much you try to say Palestine and not the Land of Israel. The Land of Israel belongs to the people of Israel forever and ever

Wow! Looks fantastic. Looking forward to seeing more of this trip. Our son was there in May and we did worry about him but he had a great time. People were so friendly and he ended up getting his diving ticket because it was so cheap. One day we hope to get there. Enjoy it all!
“It’s so unfortunate when you go to such an incredible site and it has been ruined by the media” Exactly. Anything beautiful now days can be ruined my the media.
It's true . Better when u come to egypt to arrange ahead of your visit a travel buddy or find good friends .this will help u a lot . Exploring is fine but it will be very useful to find company because we know our country , first struggle that part of educated people only knows English . Part of toursim companies are not professional , so many things you need to cross over to enjoy your trip which you won't find in any other country .but just please find a good company before u come .wishing everyone safe and happy trip to Egypt . I am senior mechanical engineer traveled abroad a lot having many international friends .loving my county :)
I am so happy I came across this vlog - Aussie who has dreamt of Egypt for almost 25 years and I finally booked for next year (travelling with Intrepid Travel!). CANT WAIT!

i finally found someone who appreciates and has at least a bit of excitement to come here thank you some much for showing my beautiful country god bless you and enjoy
Hey guys! This is amazing!!! Thank you so much (from Dee - wife of Matt -), we are there in Sept this year and I can't tell you how inspiring your video is for me personally - we're going to see Egypt because it was my mum and my life long dream, she never got to go before she passed but I am so happy to be getting the opportunity to. We are a lot older than you two so I can only hope we have the get up and go that you have!! We certainly have the excitement at least!! I too will cry when I see the pyramids!!! Thanks again
Thank you so much for making this vlog. My fiance and I are planning our honeymoon for July 2021 and I have always dreamed of going to Egypt. I was an archaeology major in college and missed my change to dig there in 2011. We are finally going and my family and friends are so nervous for us. I am going to show them this vlog and hopefully this will put their minds at ease. We were not originally thinking of doing a group tour, but now we are considering it. It looks like you had a wonderful experience. Thank you again!
We can find Dio in Egypt in Cairo, Jotaro punched him and Dio flied away. Now he is lying in a shop without leg,he Is waiting That somebody gives him the leg. Only JoJo's fan
Came from Egypt in January ! Loved every second even tho it was freezinggggg, enjoy guys ! Just a tip would recommend Uber’s as taxi’s have a reputation of ripping you off. Cairo citadel and the old city of Cairo (old city of fustat) was as amazing as the pyramids. Try and get some basic Arabic down pat because they do tend to charge more. Excited to see where you guys get around too !
OMG EGYPT looks amazing!!! That light show reminded me so much of James Bond in the Spy Who Loved Me (enter Jaws ha ha). Super envious of you both right now. Egypt is at the very top of my list for life goals. Have an amazing time xx
it will be more exciting if you visit Egypt by your Self a whole year won't be enough to see all the amazing things in Egypt i am Egyption and if any one want to come i am ready to show him every thing in Egypt just contact me and we will be friends
You two visit Egypt to its hotest monthes of the year. I think Aswan and Komb Ombo will be like an oven. Cover yourself very well and creme your face. Two bottles of water for each will not be enough. When you went to Israel I thought you would go next to Egypt. Now you are there and I am excited to watch your traveling. Thank you so much for all your videos.🕌🌻🌻🌻🌻
@@craig9563 I don't know how they speak in your country, but "guys" is used as the "you plural" in most English dialects and when used in that context it is not gender-specific. I'm sure you're aware of this, I suspect that you're just trying to make somebody who appears to not be a native English speaker feel bad.

There is no Capital city of a state called Palestine, because no independent state of Palestine has ever existed. Palestine has no currency, no stamps, no capital, we do not know what form of government it possesses.. it has no defined borders, no Army. Palestine was the name of a region occupied by successive nations, part of it is in what is now Lebanon, part of it is in what is now Syria, part of it is in what is now Jordan, part of it is in what is now Israel and the Israeli territories.. The leaders of the Palestinian people have promised that not ONE Jew will be permitted to remain in any future state of Palestine. Apartheid - which is a very good solid reason that no state of Palestine can EVER be permitted to be created.. So Palestine is a lie, a figment of the imagination, a State that will not ever be permitted to be created. What the world does not need is another Gaza and Gaza is the tangible example of why Palestine can never exist.
I AM SO EXCITED FOR THESE EGYPT VLOGS!!! ❤❤ I also 100% agree with how terrible the media is!! They really make soo many people scared! Jess every time you get emotional I always tend to cry! SOOO CLOSE TO 100K FOLLOWERS EEEEEK LOVE YOU BOTH!

Hi! First let me tell you I really enjoyed watching this Egypt series. My fiance and I are looking to travel to Egypt but we are getting mixed reviews about On The Go Tours. What made you go with On The Go tours instead of other travel tour guides? Also, what month did you all travel to Egypt in?
Anglo cultures are fear-based. As a European, it always amazes me how scared people from Oz, USA, Uk seem about other countries. As if civilization ends at their borders. 🤣
When I told my family I was going to study in Cyprus they thought I was going to a warzone or something because of the Turkish side. Americans don't like to think about how dangerous the U.S. actually is in comparison to other countries.
Shut up idiot i am irish aussie ive worked in Palestine and live in brazil now. Heard of belfast. Scared Sydney is more unsafe moron i know 17yrs in law enforcement
When I visited the pyramid I literally cried because I’m standing in front one of the very thing that we are all taught in school but never get a chance to visit.
I'm so glad I found you guys! I've been binging your videos for like a month straight and you guys consistently make the best travel videos on youtube! And I say that as someone who watches an unhealthy amount of travel vloggers! Can't wait for the rest of the Egypt videos! More exclamation points!!!
Really so happy for you . Please don't miss to visit Alexandria , the bride of Mediterranean Sea as we call it . U will find it different from all of Egypt . Sure u will enjoy it all . It's our big balcony on the sea in the north with Greek , Italian city style , personally it's the best city in Egypt than Cairo even .
in winter beautiful than Cairo not in summer time where its very much crowded streets&beaches , but I recommend tourists to visit North coast instead of Alex in summer time
I could really feel the awe and the feeling you'd get when you see the mystical pyramids for the first time. I would totally tear up too! Such a nice series. I hope me and my wife can visit Egypt soon as well. Visiting Turkey a couple of weeks ago has revived my passion of history and explorations! :) Subscribing to you guys
You guys are both so so sweet, dare I say cute, not intending any disrespect. I love your energy, positivity and how open you are to all the different cultures have to offer. May you always enjoy all your travels and thank you for sharing. 😍😍

Diaryofa40something i advice you dont visit egypt .its not safe .many stealing .this guys in video its not true
Living here, loving it, feel safer here than Dublin where im from. People are really lovely. If you ever get the chance come to this beautiful country. The Pyramids are amazing and the Museum is incredible.
did you finished the museum ?
I'm from Egypt 🇪🇬 hope you guys loved it here! You're welcome here anytime ❤
Go snorkeling in egypt red sea coast
Sharm el sheikh or marsa alam is beatyfull
And the town of asuan in upper egypt is a must visit too
Beautiful place with so much culture! Maybe one day i'll be there.
Love Egypt from Brazil 🇧🇷
Brazil is a trash country
Egypt is also somewhere I've wanted to go since I was little! So excited for the rest of the series!
Nour Hafez Egypt is slowly introducing a pre-visit visa
That’s because the world is run by colonisers 😩
That’s because Australia is a garbage country

Thanks Mom & Dad :)
Egypt is amazing and safe. Such friendly and kind people. Lots of fun stuff to do and so full of energy in the atmosphere. I was never tired , i was always energized being there. Btw My husband is Egyptian 🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬
Your reaction when you first saw the pyramids was indescribable ! :)
Just stop putting Israel ( occupied Palestine) and Egypt together in the same sentence
I’m from egypt and i feel so happy that I watched this today , you guys are so cute I’m happy for your happiness, hope you’ll visit us again❤️❤️❤️
by the way it's palestine
oZ_tube egypt its egypt
Please be precise: Occupied Palestine
First of all, when you pronounce the letter P in your language then you may be able to convince.
In Arabic you do not have the letter P, so you use the letter B instead
Your knowledge ... ignorant Muslims.
Nah, it’s Israel dude, you know those guys who keep defeating shitty Arabic armies, showing that Arabs can’t fight
Palestine.
There are two “legal” definitions:
The first one, Palestine, referred to the British Mandate in the place which now called Israel, which existed since the first of July, 1920 until May fourteenth 1948 ( the foundation of Israel). Britain had an authority to rule the Palestinians who lived here and it’s targets was to prepare the nations which lived here for a country. And so they did, the Mandate both helped and didn’t help the people who lived here. For example, the British limited the amount of new comers to Palestine.
Actually, the Palestinians are the people who lived here in the Mandate. As a consequence, there are Jewish Israeli citizens who are also Palestinians.
The second one, is the Roman Syria- Palestina which was a Roman province at the 2nd till the 4th century. It was the merger of Judea and Syria.
I'm happy u liked my country 😊❤️💕
I'm from Egypt 🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬 i rlly love it
welcome to egypt bro , but there is an important thing you should know
there is no country called israel, it's Palestine or as it is now Occupied Palestine
hope you enjoy your journey here in egypt, and hope to meet you if you visited Alexandria here
No it's Israel you prick get over it for
Pete's sake!
Wow! Looks fantastic. Looking forward to seeing more of this trip. Our son was there in May and we did worry about him but he had a great time. People were so friendly and he ended up getting his diving ticket because it was so cheap. One day we hope to get there. Enjoy it all!
Egypt has the honor to visit you
ُEgypt now is very safe
we has the honor to visit you
Welcome to Egypt
do not believe the media, egyption people is one of the kindest people in the world.
“It’s so unfortunate when you go to such an incredible site and it has been ruined by the media”
Exactly.

You are always welcomed to Cairo! We love new members who come see our country! 😊💛
Oh my god girl you are so CUTE! the joy in your eyes when you saw the pyramids for the first time, you made me cry too wtf 😂💛
What is this Israel? I think you mean Palestine.
Because there is no state that calls Israel
Actually israel is listed as a real country.. Palestine is not
Tell that to the IDF :) or the UN
Our Tube not according to president trump
Everyone is welcome here in Egypt. I wish everyone a visit to Egypt😍
You still both look so nice that first day, I can’t believe you look like that on so little sleep haha! Very excited to see the rest of the trip
Egypt is definitely on my bucket list! Thank you for showing us! Super exited to go.
Demi Thompson you are welcome any time
You will love that place. Very mysterious in a way
egypt is waiting for you❤
I'd definitely advise you to go with a tour guide.
But -if you'd already went- how was your trip

I am Egyptian and I wish everyone to visit Egypt, a beautiful Egypt. I live in Giza and I love Sharm El Sheikh
I'd recommend this for a trip in 2020 when the Grand Museum opens. It's near the pyramids & Sphynx so you can do the Sound & Light show.
Tahnk you 💙
Just thank you for showing my country in this beautiful way 💕
Thank you for the Egypt series! I booked with on the go after and had a great time!
Art Vandelay did u go alone? Coz im planning to have a solo tour myself nxt month.
I clicked on this video as soon as I saw Egypt.I live in Egypt so I’m happy you like it!And from my flight to Egypt I went to that exact airport
Searches about egypt: "is egypt safe?"
Egypt: *Y u bully me*
Egypt is the most coolest country ever, i lived there for four months
iam from Egypt 🇪🇬♥️♥️
Egypt is in my opinion one of the most cultured and fantastic places in the world , I'm Russian but I loved 16 years in egypt , it's the best
Yes, Egypt is safe and a must country to visit. They are rich in history and have really really great interesting places to visit.
OMG EGYPT looks amazing!!! That light show reminded me so much of James Bond in the Spy Who Loved Me (enter Jaws ha ha). Super envious of you both right now. Egypt is at the very top of my list for life goals. Have an amazing time xx
Egypt wait you
I am Omar from Egypt and I hope that every visitor will enjoy in Egypt
so excited to watch this whole series!!! amazing amazing amazing
Woop woop!!! can't wait for you to see it!

Thank you for emiting all these positive energy we felt as we were with you.
"Guys"? One guy and one girl.
@@craig9563 I don't know how they speak in your country, but "guys" is used as the "you plural" in most English dialects and when used in that context it is not gender-specific. I'm sure you're aware of this, I suspect that you're just trying to make somebody who appears to not be a native English speaker feel bad.
@@monkiram I've only ever heard the term in North America.
@@craig9563 Really? I've definitely heard young Aussies and young Brits use the term as well, I'm not sure about older generations of English speakers
You two continue to make me smile.
It's not israel it's palestine😏😏😏
Tell that to the IDF :)
Hahahahahaha where’s Palestine, never heard of her
Palestine.
There are two “legal” definitions:

In addition, the electricity and water provision to Gaza and West bank are provided by Israel (mostly without paying for it) . So meanwhile, Palestine as a country does not exist. The nation Palestine does exist but it has no country.
Ahmed Ahmed God called it Israel I’m gonna call it Israel.

Egypt wait you
Nice to have you guys around... I hope you are having fun
Anglo cultures are fear-based. As a European, it always amazes me how scared people from Oz, USA, Uk seem about other countries. As if civilization ends at their borders. 🤣
wow you really talented writer
When I told my family I was going to study in Cyprus they thought I was going to a warzone or something because of the Turkish side. Americans don't like to think about how dangerous the U.S. actually is in comparison to other countries.
Shut up idiot i am irish aussie ive worked in Palestine and live in brazil now. Heard of belfast. Scared Sydney is more unsafe moron i know 17yrs in law enforcement
This whole channel is soooo under rated!!!
Hi

Lolol plantain 🤣🤣🤣 you can't even spell your imaginary country correctly.
I'm Egyptian , but I cried with her when she saw the top of the Pyramids for the first time .. yeah it was amazing !
Woww finally guys
I was following you for 2 years. And I am happy to see u here
Hope to go to Alexandria to see you😍
When I visited the pyramid I literally cried because I’m standing in front one of the very thing that we are all taught in school but never get a chance to visit.
There's nothing called israel
I'm so glad I found you guys! I've been binging your videos for like a month straight and you guys consistently make the best travel videos on youtube! And I say that as someone who watches an unhealthy amount of travel vloggers! Can't wait for the rest of the Egypt videos! More exclamation points!!!
Wow thank you so, so much for your support! It means the world to us!
I love you guys soooooo much keep up the good work
aww thanks so much for your support Lizette!!
I was in Egypt 11 years and it was unbelievable. I cried too when I got my first glimpse of the pyramids!!
Really so happy for you . Please don't miss to visit Alexandria , the bride of Mediterranean Sea as we call it . U will find it different from all of Egypt . Sure u will enjoy it all . It's our big balcony on the sea in the north with Greek , Italian city style , personally it's the best city in Egypt than Cairo even .
in winter beautiful than Cairo not in summer time where its very much crowded streets&beaches , but I recommend tourists to visit North coast instead of Alex in summer time
I’m an Egyptian American ... U guys are super cool /super honest and on point .. everyone should trust u and use your experiences 👌🏼
Jess is so cute! Love your Egypt outfits!
It’s called Palestine not Israel !!!
You guys are both so so sweet, dare I say cute, not intending any disrespect. I love your energy, positivity and how open you are to all the different cultures have to offer. May you always enjoy all your travels and thank you for sharing. 😍😍
