Probably because PTSD will never be cured. It can be managed. I've lived with it for almost 51 years, and if the police hadn't killed my stepdad and we had our day in court, I'd willingly testify.
Now, part of my therapy is watering the imaginary flowers on his grave for the last 20 years on the anniversary of when he almost murdered our whole family.

@@raintree3383 I disagree. It’s not healthy with the mass murderer in the same room looking at you. Nobody wants to see his squirrely face anymore. It’s stressful for some people to talk in public with an audience so their ptsd plus those two things aren’t healthy. Testifying isn’t for health reasons. It’s to get the truth of the story out there. It’s a necessary evil. It’s not fun but they all know they have to do it because the shooter needs to be punished as fit. They’re all adults now, as it’s been four years. Sone have finished university. I’m sure they want justice more than they want to hide off the stand.

When Nicholas first entered the school building and verbally warned a student what was about to go down... if this interaction could've perhaps spared this young boy's life, then you could seemingly attribute that act on Nick's part as him more so wanting to make a statement of some sort by this mass shooting... rather than being motivated by the pleasure of terrorizing. And this also in turn could reflect his mental health more so in proportion to being addicted to cruelty.

  • @ussfreedom4422

Just so everyone is aware: I’m studying law to become a lawyer and one of the questions that comes up often is what one should do when defending a client who they know is guilty?
The answer is: you have to do your job. It is their job as state lawyers to defend their client. Even if they have committed the worst crimes imaginable.
You can tell the killers defense team is disconnected from him because they do not want to defend him and they came up with a BS motion for appeal which was written half-assed, knowing that the judge wouldn’t go for it because it lacked substance and common sense.
They didn’t even care to get up and speak for their client let alone speak loudly and clearly into the mic. This is a prime example, of how the killers defense team, knows that he is guilty, yet they are forced to do their job by painting a picture of defense of their client.
They have to provide documented evidence that they have done the research into the facts and evidence of the case along with the legalities of it to prove their clients’ defense or they could lose their license to practice.
That’s why the killers legal team looks like a joke. Because they are aware of his crimes and all the evidence points to him as the killer. They are not “pushing” for life in prison.
They are stalling by requesting life in prison so the judge can continue hearing evidence and seeing the reactions of the victims families, that this will only strengthen the judge’s decision to give him the death sentence.
