    As much as I don’t commend the pilot’s actions, I understand them.
    You have an annoying problem that refuses to be fixed, so you try something the engineer showed you. He likely had no idea what the consequences were, and either wasn’t told not to, or didn’t understand what the person said properly.
    He made a terrible mistake that someone showed him, someone who in theory is trustworthy and knows what they’re doing.

      Reset a circuit breaker in the air vs on the ground is totally different story. Reset a circuit breaker in the air is like you driving a 200 mph car cruising speed and all the sudden you pull out the car key. Reset the same circuit breaker on the ground is like you are at a parking lot parked position then removed your car key. A machanic pull circuit breakers on the ground does not mean the pilot can do the same in the air. All pilots have manuals that tells them what they can do what they cannot. You don't try to be a smart ass and think this would work if it's not on the manual.

    i love how this gets posted and im already watching. once again airbus being airbus, they put to much focus on automated flying then once something craps the bed the pilot has little to no room for correction or to save anyone. like i get it was a rudder issue but anything that throws off the airbus a320 flight pc always leads to issues maybe even catastrophic ones. anyone can say anything about boeing and the 737 but id still rather have my pilot have full control and manuvarebility to possibly save us all.

    • @alex_zetsu
      @alex_zetsu 29 дней назад +1

      I don't know what you mean by "no room for correction." The pilots could have saved the plane just by pitching down and the controls would have responded. In normal law an airbus will moderate inputs and refuse inputs that would stall a plane. However in alternate law, a single pilot (if the other isn't interfering) will be able to control the plane like a 737. It will do exactly as the pilot ordered.

    • @ElOsoPadre
      @ElOsoPadre 29 дней назад +1

      @@alex_zetsu true they had all the time but like the vid explained, the FO's focus was lost due to vertigo imbalance and if there werent like 6-8 warnings the FO could have saved it. the point im making is if airbus didnt make all the airbuses reliant on a flight pc to keep things stable at all times maybe there wont be a million warnings. but when u say they had a chance they certainly did i agree, just being overwhelmed like that is a pilots nightmare.

    its funny the more redundant they try to make planes with multiple computers for every little function the more often they have failures, and when the hopelessly over complicated electronics confuse the pilots its always the pilots fault, and they left out the point the pilot asked the maintenance technician if he could pull the circuit breakers in flight and he was told yes. These system they build into planes are supposed to make them easier and safer to fly but sounds to me like they just add andless points of failures and confusion. This is far from the first time flawed avionics caused problems and confused pilots ending in tragedy Pilots can make mistakes, but all this overcomplication just seems to add to the problem in some cases..all it takes is one bad solder joint or weak/failed component and the plane can become uncontrollable no matter how good the pilot is - bad enough we will always have possible mechanical failures but now theyve added endless points of computer control and software failure as well. Heres an idea, how about letting the pilot fly the plane instead of a fault prone computer.

And since pilots don't know how the electronics work they lose the "battle ". Airlines have to hire pilots who studied "every small details" of planes not the ones who gets CPL in a 15 month in some Florida school, which they only care about student money. Or maybe schools have to make mandatory to watch these "Mayday" series 😁. Sometimes it feels flying is miracle my friends knowing these facts😊

      The problem isn't the computers. The computers have saved more lives than it's cost. (in fact, you can see briefly in the re-enactment of the...re-enactment of the flight, when the investigator pulls the breakers, "Alternate Law" appears on the screen, showing that there's now limited protections.)
      The problem is all too often pilots ignoring or misunderstanding computer warnings, or using them incorrectly. Autopilot and other control systems are often referred to as "the third pilot", which isn't inaccurate, but it has to be treated like one.
      In this case, maintenance personnel allowed a plane with a fault to fly; you wouldn't drive on a car that had a fault in a critical system after all. After that, it was somagravic illusion and a PIC whose situational awareness was shot.

    Airline pilots are trained on what to do during a stall. A trained FO should not have been continuing to pull the stick back while the plane is pitching up, and beginning to stall. A trained captain should not even have "pull down" in his vocabulary.
    If Airbus pilots are so automation-dependent that they cannot sufficiently fly manually in emergency situations, they either need more rigorous training flying manual without computers, or stricter discipline to not rely on the highest level of automation all the time.

    Assumptions cause confusion and misunderstandings. Assumptions cause innocent people to be put in jail. Assumptions killed people, like on this plane. That is why God says there had to be 2 or more witnesses. Ground crewman should have explained you can't do this; it can not be done in the air. This is truly a sad ending, but shows people that appearances can be deceiving and he thought it would be okay in flight and solve the problems with this distracting alarm.

    • @CountYourblessings0
      @CountYourblessings0 29 дней назад

      Normally it operates like a 'black box', i.e, the crew doesn't have to know anything about its inner workings. The device operates on its own to record data or cockpit noises. In some cases, though, the crew may need to save a recording before it's overwritten. They're painted orange to make them easier to spot after a crash.

  • @ewathoughts8476

    If this video is accurate, it points out a major flaw in side stick controls where both pilots cannot see the inputs by his opposite. A major problem with fly by wire is solder joints that fracture due to vibration. Also, any computer driven device that ever needs a reset, points to a fault basic design, and almost all large scale integrations are grown with internal faults. They multi layer these integrations to provide redundancy, but these layers do not always work. That is why there are micro processors that have performance ratings even though the chip was grown in the same environment. Just think how often you home PC needs a restart to return to proper operation. That tells you the reliability of the device. Does your cell phone ever mistake your swipe inputs? Think about it.

    • @davesmith5656
      @davesmith5656 29 дней назад +1

      Computers must always have a plug that can be pulled. And every pilot must know how to fly without a computer.

    • @madezra64
      @madezra64 29 дней назад

      This is a bad analogy. Computers on aircrafts are considerably more reliable than any consumer silicon, and those redundancies are nothing to be scoffed at. For an aircrafts internal computers to have multiple failures is almost virtually unheard of. Even in this case we see the computer was working like it should have been. The pilots should have NEVER disabled the computer, and they should have IMMEDIATELY recognized the auto pilot disengaging. This should've snapped them to attention, but it didn't. They were looking for a way to ignore the problem, not deal with it.
      Also, my home computer never needs rebooted and maintains proper operation for months lol. I don't know what computer you're using, or how you're using it, but if you have to keep restarting your computer to make it work right, you're doing something wrong and NOT the computer.
