Naroditsky and Howell are BY FAR the two best chess commentators in the world today. A perfect blend of humor, good-naturedness, insight, likability and passion for the game. While they're incredibly skilled at chess, they never talk down to the audience. And even after you've spent several hours in their company, it never gets old. We're very very lucky to have them both.
Sure, I love that he is always trying to solve things with crazy lines, and he puts a lot of passion, with then a calm voice like David or Hess and finally with a voice of experience like Leko.
"Now there may be a road to equality, but it really is narrow. And definitely more Naro than Ditsky." - Daniel Naroditsky, Round 14 (or 13?) of the 2024 Candidates
Maybe Danya's not a podcast person, but it is an absolute pleasure to listen to him. His openness, joy an willingness to share his thoughts make him one of my favourite chess personalities. Thank you folks for the awesome episode. I'm hoping for the ep 2. :)
whatever the case might be, danya's playing style 'has always been unique and the game is just fresh when he 'is playing! honestly, ive' neverever enjoyed anyones' chess more than danya AND THIS IS THE TRUTH
Danya is superb to listen to - him & Hess make it a nice combo of insight and energy and makes me want to watch more of the "sport" with their commentary on. Thank you for uploading this, man!
Glad you like it! BTW you have a great channel, I’ve watched some of your videos and really liked it. Where can I reach you to discuss a collaboration?
I have started watching all the chess experts on RUclips only in the last couple of weeks . I have to say this Daniel Nariditsky is a great communicator. He is the best commentator I have heard. Chess needs people like him as much as it needs champion players.
Danya is just an amazing person and incredible human being to start with, dont mention the fact that he is by far the best chess commentator. Just have a look how he talks about Alireza, great insights and compassions!!!
Great episode! Thanks for giving us a glimpse of your greatness! I follow these dudes for language learning and for entertainment. Keep doing this great work!!
Superb! Of course, you can't possibly go wrong when your guest is Daniel Naroditsky :) I stumbled on this channel a couple of days ago and am looking forward to catching up. Wishing you all the best.
Yes, full strength Ding is a piece of Tungsten with melting point around 3600 degree Celsius. Let's see if my countryman Gukesh can produce that much temperature on the board.
Danya is a gift to the chess world especially for beginners and intermediate players. his lessons, analytic and commentary is out of this world! can't luv him enough
Fantastic podcast! You did a great job of asking good questions and letting Naroditsky give detailed answers without interrupting or rushing him. I will make sure to watch the other episodes, and hope to see more in the future!
Great Podcast. Love your content especially your video explaining how Gukesh's centipawn loss was around 5 in the second half. It was a point not made by anyone. Kudos!!!
Episode 2 & 3 please! ☀ Danya, you are my favorite commentator, it really brightens my day when I listen to you! Your passion for chess and your kind nature are very inspiring. You always apologize for your 'rambling', but indeed most of us would like to listen much longer to what you have to say (or write) on any subject. You express yourself so beautifully, I learn new words and expressions very often while listening to you (I even have a file where I write down what I love). And never restrain yourself with puns, stuff like 'more naro than a ditsky' is pure gold. I wish you all the best in your journey to the top of blitz! Rooting for you always🎉 Thanks Greg for organizing this episode, we indeed do learn a lot, especially with the game at the end! And the apparition of the kitten was just the cherry on top! 🐈 such a cutie, I could look at her/him? for hours 😻😻
I absolutely love to hear from Naroditsky everytime he is on some podcast. Funny down to earth guy with tremendous knowledge. I would love to hear him speak on topics of chess improvement. Especially I would love to hear tips on how to improve as adult improver at online chess when you do not have 3h+ to dump in online blitz on daily basis. Also I did get the idea that lichess vs chesscom debate could be a longer one. Subscribe and waiting for part two!
19:20 This kind of thing happened with Fabi in the crucial game vs Nepo in the final round as well. Fabi thought for only about 2 minutes and played Ka2 on move 41, ceding the advantage he had built up. Considering this move came right after he had played a series of quick moves to make the time control, he likely hadn't calmed down and calculated accurately like one should on move 41.
A interview with Danya talking about the 70 games blitz match against the gm who cheated against him would be really nice for part 2. That was so strange
Interesting how one tournament changed the narrative for Gukesh. 32:03 Danya is saying Gukesh rarely has massive failures. Really? He dumped 40 elo points end of the last year trying to win an event in order to qualify for Candidates. 🤣🤣 He is a guy take risks, burns bridges to go for wins, goes on 8/8 in olympiad and doesn't takes a draw which would have ensured team gold and loses, youngest to 2750, GM at 12. You don't become these by being solid. This candidates was exception and being at 2730-2750 level for a year and half must have helped him. Interesting how narrative is being copy pasted.
Exactly and even Vishy said that Gukesh of the indian players that were going to play the cnadidates he was the most volatile. Now of course this tournament could be the turning point and he might become mega solid, but we shall see.
Yeah the point Danya seems to have missed is that Gukesh has been a streak player - he goes on small winning streaks and big winning streaks and he is only now beginning to stabilize with age and experience.
Dude that is because he doesn't like draws... Games he lost were either in time pressure or he was over pressing.... He goes for the kill...if he had decided to take draws, he would have stayed there on top...

What about Hess?
@@erickLguzmanI’ll definitely invite him on the pod as well!
Keep commenting peeps!!!
Here for the part 2!!

What about Hess and Leko. If I had to pick a favourite, it would be Daniel, but all of them are so good in their own way.
@@arvidfalk5719 Good commentators, but a little dry for my taste.
Leko
Leko and Hess are also great.
Nah. They're nice, but don't hold a candle to Leko and Judit Polgar
Daniel’s commentary on Chess24 was the best
Agreed!
For sure
Sure, I love that he is always trying to solve things with crazy lines, and he puts a lot of passion, with then a calm voice like David or Hess and finally with a voice of experience like Leko.
now try to be the best in something yourself, instead of simping your way through life
"Now there may be a road to equality, but it really is narrow. And definitely more Naro than Ditsky."
- Daniel Naroditsky, Round 14 (or 13?) of the 2024 Candidates
Danya openly said Gukesh had higher chances to win the candidates on the reddit. He is the new chess prophet.
He is the OG Prophet
He not the new prophet, he was the only prophet
Lisan Al Gaib
Add Judith to this team and i can watch them every day! :D
At Round 12 he was the favorite due to the pairings
We ABSOLUTELY need part 2 & 3. Thank you so much fellas for the conversation
You can see the passion on chess in his eyes and the way he speaks.
every time Danya looks into the camera, my heart melts, and the words "I do" erupt from my mouth
Thank you for publishing this great discussion, I would love to see a part 2 with Naroditsky!
Great interview! Really insightful comments on how to improve one's blitz play.
Please do more episodes with Danya!

His „speedruns“ are probably the best resource to learn chess on the internet
Absolutely. He's so graceful and polite yet also always compliments those he is with creatively
Definitely look up his channel on youtube
Would be amazing to listen to Danial for the second, third time for sure. He is one of the best persons in the chess world :) Always positive and kind
Danya is just an amazing person and incredible human being to start with, dont mention the fact that he is by far the best chess commentator. Just have a look how he talks about Alireza, great insights and compassions!!!

Danya asking himself questions and answering them, looks like he's the one who prepared for his interview
Get Danya for more! I absolutely loved this! He is so insightful and articulate. Pleasure listening to him!
Yes, full strength Ding is a piece of Tungsten with melting point around 3600 degree Celsius. Let's see if my countryman Gukesh can produce that much temperature on the board.

I enjoyed the interview. nicely done
Episode 2 & 3 please! ☀

I think this is a different thing, since realizing there’s a difference between Ka2 and Ka1 is extremely difficult even with ample time to think
danya is a legenddd . , awesome content man keep up
So cool to see that blitz game at the end and completely winning for a moment! The competitive realisation, maybe 45s time Odds next time 😋
Very interesting and informative. Best episode in my opinion
Даня - Душка. Спасибо за интервью
Always love listening to Danya share his insights
Great interview with Daaaaaaanya!
22:55 magnus also defended and its different from Fischer fischer didnt defend as much as Magnus
Danya is amazing. Both his speedrun and also commentry. Especially with Hess.
A interview with Danya talking about the 70 games blitz match against the gm who cheated against him would be really nice for part 2. That was so strange
Great podcast! 👍
danya the man! best commentator along with leko.
his speedruns are my most favorite series on yt.
PART 2 please!

Gukesh eventually will become like every top player unfortunately but that's the only way to stay at the top
would absolutely watch part 2
Amazing interview waiting for part 2 😊
So many intelligent conversations on this channel!
Loved this so much... would love to see a part 2!
Amazing, can’t wait for part 2 :)
Great analysis by Danya about the differences between Blitz and Classical.
Danya is the best. He has all the qualities to make any video awesome. So fortunate to have met him in Dec 2022 in Toronto.
What a great episode hope it gets to 1000 comments soon !
Great guest, really good topics
Would love to see another part with Danya!
I want Kramnik in the next video
Only if he is in a straitjacket
Only if he is not on drugs
Only if he wears a tinfoil hat
We need part 2!
Bring back Danya for sure, great interview
Maurice (during guest appearance) also predicts Gukesh with the best road to victory because of two of the last opponents are either weak/off-form.
Is Hikaru weak or off-form? He was his last opponent. I don’t think so!
A podcast on chess improvement would be nice
Would love a second part!
I loved this episode with Danya! Keep them coming 👏🏼
Danya's analysis on all things chess is awesome!
Lovely podcast, great questions and wholesome guests 😊
Great pod man
Around 53:00 Is it unsound sacs, or, is it unsafe sacs?
It would be great to take up Danya's offer for a second or third podcast.
+1 for 2nd and 3rd interview
The actual potential of these Candidates' players are complex numbers like 1+ i and 100+200i. You can't say which one is greater or which one is less.
It all makes sense that Gukesh had some time management problems considering that he doesn't play blitz.
Danya, please keep ranting, we love it, and we love you!
Mustreader is an amazingly cool surname
Bump for part 2! Great!
great podcast do another one!
Need part 2
Bump for part 2 for sure!
Daniel and chess network have fostered my love for the game
Please do one with David Howell, Robert Hess and Peter Leko soon! ❤
Need as many episodes as you guys can make.
New sub -- great work! Looking forward to many more
