The dunkaroo thing didn't work because of type of cake mix. Angel food cake has a sour batter due to the different ingredients. I recommend redoing that one with funfetti cake mix from pillsbury. That should work. :3 Also...it is all about that cool up!
Wait... now I want someone to redo this and test it before I go out and spend $ and time. Although I 1000% would if I know it’d turn out like dunkaroo icing.. altho now that I think of it... that’s basically funfetti icing 🤔
Jackie: "I'm pretty sure it's because it's made with confetti cake and not birthday cake." Me: "It says Angel Food cake....which has a sour base.... " 🙃 Hey Jackie, get regular, not the angel food variety!!! It shouldn't say Angel Food on it!!!!!!! If it does, it's always sour. Lol.
The issue with the dunkaroos is because you're using Angel food.... That cake mix is a bit sour... You need normal confetti or birthday cake mix not Angel food
The two ingredient mousse does work, you just have to do it for longer (and maybe use an electric hand mixer). As the melted chocolate cools, you're emulsifing the water into it. You have to keep whipping the mixture and get air into it until it cools completely. It works!
If anyone tried the homemade Reese’s, add a bit of coconut oil into your melted chocolate. It’ll give the chocolate a softer texture so it doesn’t shatter when you bite into it.
You can also do that if youre wanting to make chocolate shell for ice cream! If you put enough coconut oil, it should be runny at room temp, and then when it hits the ice cream, it'll harden up
The reason the chocolate was so melty on the peanut butter cups was because Jackie didn't temper the chocolate. Chocolate chips have less cocoa butter than bar chocolate so they can't be tempered. Tempering makes the chocolate hard at room temperature and makes a snap when you break it. Tempering chocolate is done by controlling the temperature of the melted chocolate as it cools, there are lots of videos that explain how to do it.
Homemade chocolate covered candy can be made with chocolate chips, but you have to add paraffin wax to it. I used to make buckeyes every xmas that way, but now everyone just buys chocolate candy coating. BTW, buckeyes are much better than that recipe for peanut butter cups.

I believe it’s Baking Soda; not Citric Acid. I could be wrong- Baking soda can give off a off taste when not mixed with a acidic thing though if I remember my cooking class correctly
Also not sure if the fact the water was boiling makes a difference? I don’t know anything about patisserie but I would think boiling water and chocolate would have some kind of reaction. Whether it makes mousse? No idea I’m not saying it will or won’t

For the last one i made some research and i found that you actually can make chocolate mousse but you need to be whisking for about 5 minutes and first it will start to thicken and look like whipping cream then yogurt-ish and then after all that it will possibly be how it is supposed to look like. Check out Ann Reardon - she's a food scientist and tries recipes from 5-minute craps, so yummy and others like that, while explaining exactly why they can't work and are just clickbaits
Was about to say the same! She also has some vids about how to work with chocolate, love How To Cook That! 💜
ha, 5 minute *craps*
I love Ann Reardon! 😊
By the way Ann's YT channel name is How to Cook That.
Plus doesn’t she always let melted sugar like starbursts set for at least an hour? That’s why the popcorn was so sticky they didn’t let it set
I'm beginning to suspect that Sika is secretly a food Wizard, that's how she keeps getting snacks out of thin air.
As one of the "art people" I approve of chosing that blue jello with the orange - because yes, they DO complement XD Blue and orange are complementary colors.
Yasao Kenshi ur right
I absolutely love that both Sika and Angel, have a tendency to do hit and runs on a regular basis

For the last one i made some research and i found that you actually can make chocolate mousse but you need to be whisking for about 5 minutes and first it will start to thicken and look like whipping cream then yogurt-ish and then after all that it will possibly be how it is supposed to look like.
If you want to look for yourself you can go to this website sweets.seriouseats.com and search for "chocolate + water = Mousse" and it will be the first one to come up.
Where you can also look at a video that shows how to make it
Either way the tiktoker may have lied about the time it should take but you can actually make chocolate Mousse out of it
It just take some time
and i'm pretty sure they used milka chocolate too which is waaaay better than regular chocolate!
"We got no good stuff in Canada"

Canada has awesome bagels. Delicious, yummy, awesome bagels.
😁👍
@@aravenlunatic9028 i can agree with that ! Its true though that we dont have good stuff, when i see all the flavors in the us, like starburst jello, cream pie cereals...im dying, everything we have is pretty much normal flavors except for some limited edition things from time to time !
@@gloomysunday9534 wait, does this mean you guys don't have rootbeer milk?
@@corinabyrd2047 what is that ? we just have root beer 😆
@@gloomysunday9534 it just whole milk one of the local farms flavours with rootbeer (there's also cotton candy, orange dreamsicle, and some other weird ones). It tastes like a rootbeer float without the carbonation!
The grape story though 🤣 reminds me of when my friend bought this super sour satsuma/tangerine (I can’t remember the specifics), but she kept eating it (and her face was like Homer’s when he ate that lemon lolly and his face inverted). I, being a good friend, took a photo, got it printed with edible ink on this edible paper at a supermarket a few months later, and put them on her birthday cupcakes as toppers.
You’re not supposed to use angle food... just plain vanilla cake 😂❤️ we love you Jackie
#NerdECrafter
Angel Food cake is made with cream of Tartar, which makes it bitter..
That's what I was thinking. Jackie you're doing it wrong! Has to be regular cake not angel food.
This is what I was coming to comment. You are so right. They used Angel Food Cake and that is definitely not the one you are supposed to use. The Vanilla Funfetti cake mix works! I’ve tried it and it was so delicious!!

The reason its sour is because you're using angel food cake which has a sour base to it
This has been my first NerdECrafter video and I am in love! Yall crack me up! I love the relationship between the two of you. You are adorbs! I am a tad jealous lol. Ok, going to watch more saltiness!
That mousse recipe actually is a way of making really good mousse. You just need proper measurements and using an electric hand mixer is easier because you really have to beat it hard! 🤭 to turn it in to mousse. But I have done this myself before so I promise it is possible.
Maybe if trying a tiktok recipe with no measurements you could google a similar recipe and see what measurements are used? Just a thought. Loved this video! You two are so hilarious and always make my day 🙂
Jenn Christ the mousse tiktok actually has measurements. It says 100g chocolate and 75g water. It shows in the tiktok itself, they just missed it.
But wouldn't it be better with milk, or half and half instead of water? I agree that the method is not wrong, here in Mexico we make ice-cream like that. Just takes quite a bit of time and effort
Angel food cake is leavened with the chemical reaction between citric acid and baking soda. The citric acid is why its sour.
The cake mix was sour because it was Angel Food Cake mix, not just a normal cake mix
That's what my mom said to
I was just thinking abt how cake mix tastes good when ur baking it and like when a little kid licks the batter from the spoon or whatever the batter never tastes sour

Angel food cake has a lot of cream of tartar to create that specific texture. That's why it was so sour.
And almost always has some sort of acid in it

My family always made popcorn like that, so here's a tip. When cleaning the bowl, oak it under as hot of water as possible. It will slowly dissolve the sugar. If you stir the sugar into the hot water, it will become easier to clean.
