Thank you for this video. I am in the process of setting up my shop and you can’t believe how informative this is. I try to watch the guy from obsessed garage but he freaking rambles on. Your is to the point and direct, so thank you.
Amazing setup Scott. I’m in the process of installing my own permanent pressure washer system and can’t believe how complicated all the fittings are! Lol. I’m a noob at this.
The fittings that carry the water into the pressure washer are from Home Depot. they seemed to have a much better selection of fitting vs Lowes. Not sure where you live and what's around. But I got them in the plumbing section of Lowes. Basically you need to get the 90 degree elbow and two fittings that have a garden hose fitting on one side and then FIP or whatever the other small threaded name is on the other side. It goes from one side of the elbow to the other in this manner: garden hose threads to FIP into the elbow then the other side of the elbow is FIP as well and then back to garden hose fittings.
@@jonasgolden3277 The fitting that goes into the pressure washer is a garden hose fitting. I have the Male quick disconnect in that end and the female quick disconnect on the adapter that comes off the elbow.
Scott, what size lags did you use to mount board to studs, then what size lags did you use to mount the reel to the board ???? I am doing a setup just like yours and this info will help !!!!!!
I do not remember the exact size. I would recommend using what you can find and also keep in mind that you are a mounting them to a 2 x 4 stud in most cases you are mounting them to a standard wall in a home in America
I have two different foam cannons and I don't have a problem running either one. That does not mean that someone else may not have a different issue depending on the wiring situation in their home.
i use a garden hose from outside and bring it in when I plan to use the pressure washer. I usually have the garage door open anyways with the pressure washer hose, water buckets and cleaning supplies so its not a bid deal. The garden hose runs to the piping on the water filter.
Good stuff, thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge. How long is your Kobra Jet? Most people appear to use 100', but that seems like overkill for car washing. I'm also curious about pressure/flow loss. That said, the 100' appears to look a lot better on the reel.
I have a 100 foot hose. The reason I have that is because the pressure washer is stationary inside of the garage and in order to get the end of the hose out of the garage door to the driveway is already about 20 feet of hose so all in all I'm able to use about 75 foot of hose outside. I do have a longer driveway so I have flexibility on where I can wash a vehicle or trailer with out parking it directly in front of the garage door and then have plenty of hose to get around all sides. It's the perfect length for me but may not be necessary for everyone. I would say 75 feet of hose would be ideal for most people, but it just depends on how you use your pressure washer!
@@scottwalker19 Thanks for the prompt and detailed reply. My mounting location is very close to the garage door, so I should be able to get away with 75 (or even 50).
May I please ask what are the dimensions of the wood you used behind the cox hose reel? How thick is it? How long are the lags you used to mount them to the studs? Thank you!
Hi. Can you tell me what the coiled up electrical cord is hanging on under the shelf? I'm going to have to do the same thing since Kranzle says cutting the cord will void the warranty. Thanks.
I just used a little “screw in hanger” from the hardware store. It almost looks like a wishbone if you know what that is. It just has two prongs and a screw at at the end to go in the wall.
Great video. It was great how you walked through each component. Question on the mounting of the coxreel. Is that a piece of wood or 3/4 plywood that you have attached to the studs? I am debating whether to use wood or plywood? Thanks
@@ayodangit I spoke with someone who is very knowledgeable, and he told me that poplar or pine were better options over plywood. I picked mine from Home Depot
Hi, would you happen to have to part number from your Coxreel . It looks like 112-3-100 but I see in your video there is some additional numbers. I'm waiting on my Kranzle 1322TS to come in and trying to source the Coxreel elsewhere since OG is out of stock. I may end up going with 112-3-50 since I' will be running a 50ft hose. Thanks
Are you running the Kranzle on a 20A or 15A circuit? I see that OG recommends 20A for foam cannon use. It would be difficult for me to run a new circuit.
I believe that it is on a 15 amp circuit. I have not tripped the breaker with the pressure washer yet. However if you use the pressure washer and another high output item like a shop vac it does trip. I have used my pressure washer with a chemical guys foam cannon and the new PF-22 foam cannon. I did not put the smaller orfice in the foam cannon, I believe that is what causes the built up pressure and require the most amps. I could also not comment on older 15 amp circuits. My breakers are less than 10 years old. I am sure it could be a different story if you were using a breaker that was 50 years old.
The reel is nice and it makes storing the hose much easier than rolling it up on the ground. Everything is very heavy duty. I wish the handle mechanism was nicer but it is still sturdy.
Do you find you have flow issues where garden hose and pipe is flowing vertical up towards kranzle? I’m debating doing something similar, but my hose outlet/water bib is 2ft off the ground. And would need to flow up towards the pressure washer several feet
Overall that should not be a problem. It is a short distance compared to how the water would flow of the walls to the second floor home. My biggest restrictor is the water filtration system. The water Hass to flow through all the filtration before it gets to the pressure washer so that may reduce the flow output. I have not tested it but I do not notice any issues with my usage. Hopefully that helps!
The incoming water is between 20 and 30 using a TDS meter. I change my resin once a year. It usually gets up to 5 to 10 on the de-ionizing filter by the time I change the resin. From what I understand usually you can go up to almost 20 before water spots are more prevalent.
Very very clean! I am about to order the set up myself. Can you tell me where you got the clamps that you have the 4' inlet hose clamped down with? The ones on the right side of the reel. Thanks man! 🙏🏼
Great setup I'm just getting mine together. I was wondering is it OK to power the pressure washer from the power socket and leave the switch on, on the pressure washer as my washer is high in my garage. Cheers 🏴
I dont think that is the intended way to use it. I dont think they would recommend using it that way either. Since it is controlled with a pressure switch the electronics may not allow that. I have mine mounted about 8 feet off of the ground as I have to reach over my head to switch it on at the unit. I would recommend consulting the manual on that and consider mounting it at a reasonable height to accommodate usage! Thanks!

It sure does get warm. That motor is working hard to pump all of the water and build pressure. The water does not really cool it as far as I know.
