    +herbert keks Good ideas! I would argue that harder rubber wont help much with the wheel turning away but a second engine on the opposite wheel would. It's just a question of the power being delivered to the wheel. The shock pads are a good I dea but I have adjusted the tightness of my axles quite perfectly because I used to ride this board downhill before and I don't ever get wheel bite unless my foot touches the wheel. The metal box is a good idea but it's pricey and I would never ride if it's wet outside so waterproofing the system is not necessary for me. You are right the sidestep is a big issue and if someone asks me to build one for them I will get raised axles and bigger wheels for more clearance I might even split the lipo into two to make it flatter and protect it with a hard case or mabe even mount the batteries in the middle of the topside of the board :D
    If you got this far thank for reading! haha
    Never give up your projects you have to start somewhere. Good luck!

      +The Green Bandit i almost want to advice people to "NEVER BUY FROM CHINA" seeing your small pulley is "off centered" . then again ..... a few companies ARE actually reliable . i bought the ENERTIONS SPACE CELL and it is made in china . and i am fully satisfied of its performance .

    • @CHSWEUSA
      @CHSWEUSA  8 лет назад

      +Pak Busu I like buying Chinese products. They make good value for money. this pulley was a big surprise to me. it's the first time something like this happened to me and I told the the seller and we made a deal. so they're trying their best. just don't buy knock offs ie things advertised as being high quality but the price really isn't even close to the market value.

    Great Video, my suggestions to make your board eaven better would be to get shockpads underneth your trucks to provent the wheelbite and some harder rubbers because i see that your truck bends away when you give it power, i would personaly put everything in a metal projectbox and glue the esc fins to the box to cool it, it would also make it waterproof and protect the battery, I think you are not riding down the sidestep with this thick battery behind the truck aren´t you. Dear Herbert. Keep up the projects!! :D

      +The Green Bandit How many Kv has your motor and how many Amps the esc, didn´t get that, would realy hard want to build one, and whats the tooth number of pinion and speargear and the wheel diameter. mybe get a rgb led light strip underneeth, if you like light underneeth it :P

    • @CHSWEUSA
      @CHSWEUSA  8 лет назад

      +herbert keks Hey! Well the engine is 170KV, the energy it can produce is 3200watt and the current the ESC can handle is 80Amps.
      I recomend using a #2 AWG cable for conducting such current!

      +The Green Bandit You could technically put a 10s lipo on this baby
      i.e. 3200[w]/80[A]=40[v]
      => 6s lipo is 3.7[v]*6 = 22.2[v] and 10s lipo = 3.7*10=37[v]

    could you show us how you did the wiring with the ESC?

    • @CHSWEUSA
      @CHSWEUSA  7 лет назад

      Just connect the whole circuit before plugging the battery in. The way the wires are plugged in will determine the direction of the rotation. If it's backwards unplug the battery and try a different wire configuration.

    I hear people say I need two 3s batteries but I see you have the one 6s can you explain what I need to factor in when I go to buy?

    • @CHSWEUSA
      @CHSWEUSA  8 лет назад +1

      Hi Brian! Sure if you use a 3s battery you have half the voltage of a 6s battery. ie if you buy a 6s it will have the same voltage as two 3s. It is probably cheaper to buy a 6s battery then a 3s. I made an excel sheet for price comparison and it is true that you may find it cheaper to buy two 3s batteries. In order to then make them into a 6s you have to connect the red (+) of one to the black (-) of the other which then will double the voltage. DANGER : do not connect the remaining two wires or you will short the batteries and they will be permanently damaged and may explode.

    • @CHSWEUSA
      @CHSWEUSA  8 лет назад

      Yes it is just a metter of cost. it's the same but less costly to repair. But I just replace a bad cell.

    • @MintMacelodeon
      @MintMacelodeon 7 лет назад

      Brian Volk also one 6s battery will be wider than two 3s, with limited height under the board, two 3s may be what you are looking for.

    • @CHSWEUSA
      @CHSWEUSA  8 лет назад

      +Diptais Good It depends on the diameter of your wheel. So if your longboard has at least 40mm radius wheels you'll be fine otherwise it may be too big.

    hello, i'm planning on making my own e board. but i don't know where to start. I don't have much knowledge about electronics or that kind of stuff so in scared of buying the wrong parts. any tips?

    • @CHSWEUSA
      @CHSWEUSA  8 лет назад

      hi I'd recommend using the people that I provided in the descriptions they will be very helpful if you need anything. Also you NEED to read up on the concepts like torque, a bit of electronics physics, and you need to draw the circuit and the board including motor and extras on paper and make sure you have all the parts from your blueprint. then go ahead and order everything

    • @CHSWEUSA

      Hi! Sorry to hear that. It's wobbly because of the Bad Gear not because of the shaft. I bought it cheap online and that wasn't a good idea :( Hope the video was helpful!

    Soo... if you have a 6s Battery you get around 24Volt, which means you have to draw 134Amps ( i doubt your speed controller can handle that) it still gives you 2 Minutes and 14 seconds Batterylife at full power. Check your facts

    • @CHSWEUSA
      @CHSWEUSA  6 лет назад

      +David Rier Hi thanks I'll verify for sure and make changes to the video when needed. the speed controller is rated at 200 amps if I remember correctly.

      +The Green Bandit However you cant slow down right?

    • @CHSWEUSA
      @CHSWEUSA  8 лет назад

      +Adwe STV Hi! well technically you can reverse the current which would act as an emergency brake in case you fall of the board the issue is that it's most definitely not a progressive brake. The motor jams -so to speak- which blocks the wheel. if you're heavy like me it will strip the belt drive (I speak of experience).

  • @filedotzip
    @filedotzip 8 лет назад

    Youre saying with a 190KV motor, (A single motor!) and you being 200Kg, it can carry you up hills just fine?
    Here i was at 86Kg, going to buy 2 190Kv motors!

    • @CHSWEUSA
      @CHSWEUSA  8 лет назад

      +denarius hey! Well no please refer to an earlier posted response in which I detailed how to calculate the right power needed. It is not a function of kv. The kV will determine your speed more or less. Also 220 lbs is 100kg. But yes it goes up hills easy. After having been riding for about a year I would recommend using a chain which will give you more consistent performance over the long run than a belt.

    • @CHSWEUSA
      @CHSWEUSA  8 лет назад

      +denarius wait wait wait! kV is a rounds per volt rating

    • @CHSWEUSA
      @CHSWEUSA  8 лет назад

      +denarius what you need is to calculate how many watts you need and then get as low kV rating as possible.

    Also... this is really 350 bucks? ESC alone is like 100 bucks. Plus motor about about 100 or more. Plus metal rig and pulley about another 100 maybe 50? Plus battery is like 200-300. How did you get it to only cost 350??

    • @twitchviewerboi9751
      @twitchviewerboi9751 8 лет назад

      The motor's probably about 50 and the battery 50-60

    • @CHSWEUSA
      @CHSWEUSA  8 лет назад

      +Vladimir Longrod Hi Vladimir, yes it is ;) Have a look at the links in the description. If you don't have a board already you might have to pay more to get the wheels and board but all the extra electronics and mechanical parts are under 350 USD. You can go to the links and see for yourself ;) The batteries are not 200 don't worry! Just get them on any hobby shop online you will see they are less than 80 new.

    Its not an engine.... it's a motor... engines are combustion based... not electrical. Tesla cars have motors. Fords Have engines. Thank you, by the way your video was great... but "engine" made me cringe the whole time because you seem like you know what you are doing, but u are calling a motor an engine when they are entirely different.

    • @CHSWEUSA
      @CHSWEUSA  8 лет назад +1

      Hi! What do you mean? Would you prefer the word rotor? or motor? The word motor and engine are used interchangeably in English today. Btw you are right as an engine is a machine with moving parts that converts power into motion to be specific. Thank you for your observation ;) I learnt something more today ^^

    • @arvince99
      @arvince99 8 лет назад +2

      lol Giving you a hard time.. but awsome video...gonna build one myself..
      but if you must know:
      an engine uses fuel to create heat that it converts into motion, while a motor uses electricity to produce motion.
