Just got the 2020 dewalt 20v. It seems to have several improvements, including a new non ratcheting cover and no leaking. Be worth to get and compare with revision 1.
He seems to have forgotten to mention that the Makita’s high speed has a downside of not having the torque to drive through tougher cuts. The Dewalt may run a little slower, but it does have the torque to keep going through harder woods.
Chain speed and weight. The Makita cuts like a small gas limb saw. The Dewalt bounces around because the chain is so much slower. I own dewalt drills and love them, but the little makita chainsaw is so much superior. It even has a real chain brake, tiny felling dogs, a chain catcher... well thought out.
I don’t know about a $20 price difference, but I literally just picked up the DeWalt yesterday at Home Depot for $99 + a military discount, got out the door for $97. For that price I’m fine with 3 extra pounds. 😂
@Peter Kay I have used a few times on some smaller trees and branches between 8 and 10” in diameter. Works like a champ from what I’ve seen, no oil leak, and the 5 amp he battery I use lasts a while
Makita is so much better night and day. I had both of these. Returned the missing O ring oil well dawalt. Thank god I got the Makita what a joy to use. Can climb with it too if needed. Makita since 1990 some still going strong from then. Love em. Great little saw !! Thank you for this. They don’t recommend it of course but it’s great one handed and light as a feather. It’s a winner
Makita is high speed but low power.. personally I like the DeWalt better but Makita is two pounds lighter for in tree work. Check your oil cap and see if your DeWalt is missing the rubber O ring..
Sure enough no O ring in the o ring slot thanks !! Wish I got the makita may return it. I almost have to break the oil well cap to open the thing too .
@@matthewpeters8790 I have the Dewalt because that's the battery system I own. I have a feeling the Oregon chain on the Dewalt is not as aggressive as whatever chain the Makita has as well.
dalesworld watch a bunch of XCU06 videos, it’s stall after stall after stall. Makita doesn’t magically have more power. They traded torque for speed. One isn’t necessarily better and both have trade offs.
@@danpatnode6783 the xcu06 is a climbing/limbing saw. It's made to be lightweight so an arborist can climb with it. Totally different application than what we use on the ground.
I wanted a lightweight top handle cordless saw for doing tree work. I watched a bunch of reviews and I saw the dewalt was lacking a little in the speed department but I bought it anyways because of my massive dewalt investment. First thing I noticed was the unbalanced awkwardness of the top handle. But it rips. Somewhat satisfied but still wanting more I was considering the makita but the torque loss has me looking elsewhere. I want something that doesn’t have the trade offs. Maybe stihl or husky? I watched the town workers takedown the top of a big maple with the stihl but I’m wondering if there’s something better. Any recommendations?
You are comparing a tree climbers limb saw to a home owners toy saw... The Makita hangs from professional lumberjack's belts... The Dewalt hangs from your mom's garage hook... Totally different tools. Its like comparing a spoon to a fork, or a impact drill to an electric screwdriver.

I use my DeWalt chainsaw to demo houses where others use sawzall's 🤣

I have the dewalt 12in and the dewalt pole saw. Love them both.
Seems like the dewalt has better torque.
That Makita for its size and weight is a beast.
👍👍👍👍
@@toolboss8410 makita price ?

I have the Milwaukee 16 inch it is great.they should make a smaller one like those.

3 extra lbs half the cutting speed and triple the vibration..
Makita for the win. Thanks for the demo boss!
Dewalt has more power
Mikita more speed - (will Stall if apply to much force down ).

I'm glad I went the extra bucks for the flexvolt.
The dewalt causes board bounce were the makita moving so fast it cuts like butter no bounce on board with the makita
Wow makita killed it 👍

Robert is one good dude. Does he work for Boarshead ? He has been really good to the tool community. We need to find a way to support him.
Yea he is ...yes he is a distributor I believe 👌👌🤙
You need the 9ah amps battery for the dewalt. The 5ah is just too weak
The Makita eats it for breakfast.

If you see any deals for that makita chainsaw let me know asap @TOOL BOSS
Thanks, very informative!
I'll stick to my corded electric chainsaw for now. Don't have that much wood to cut ever so does the job. DeWalt seems kinda weak
That Makita cuts like 🧈
👍👍👌🤙
i have worx 12in but due to this video i would add in to my collection
Mikita seems to be a little lacking in power or maybe slow it down might help
makita 👍

How do you not consider the Dewalt a top handle as well?
because it isnt designed or balanced as a top handle
Makita is impressive
kita lookin good
👍👍👌🤙
Good video Tool boss
Both saws are top handle
Dang, I wish I had Makita battery.
It looks like you get $50 off when you buy 2 makita ope at Home Depot
Yes u do ..just like Milwaukee n Dewalt
*laughs in flexvolt*
Good Evening Boss
👍👍👌👌🤙
Barry both into some oak i bet the makita will stall
Slogan is ... Compromise elsewhere!
Thank you Robert ..been awhile since I seen commercial 👌👌👌👍
TOOL BOSS .... impressed that you remembered. That was like 10 plus years ago... I have a problem remember when I had for dinner last night.
