This is by far the only cover that hits the original style and mood of the song. Everyone else is too slow or plays it even in a happy harmony. Thank you. This right here, is the favourite song of my childhood.
I initially wanted to keep it a little more grounded because the original isn't *that* grand, but the tune just lead me here =P . Once I started embracing the drama it went really smoothly.
I’ve been playing through the legend of Zelda from beginning to end (haven’t played many of them before) I’m now on majoras mask. Around link to the past we found out one of our cats had cancer. So I decided I was going to play as many of them as I could while she was with us since we could lay on the couch or the bed together. She loved seeing link and other characters move across the screen and would paw at the tv. On November 8th we said goodbye to her (I had gotten to Majoras mask). So many of the moments in the games hit hard given the situation but this game really felt the most pertinent. Once I got to Ocarina of time I would whistle Zelda’s lullaby to her when she would lay down to sleep. But this song really makes me think of her. It was a dream, but when I think of her, she is still there :-)
OMG, i love this theme. It always reminds me that night in 2017 I went in Florence to the Symphony of the goddesses concert: at the time I didn’t know this piece bet it was so powerful I just wanted to cry. I wish I could go to another Zelda concert
I love how you made it quiet at the beginning but then upped your performance every timestamp! Wonderful work. You brought out the feeling and increased it.

Was looking for Zelda covers, can’t stand more than 1-2 minutes of most of them, instantly subscribed from hearing this once. Hoping to really enjoy looking through your videos!
I can't believe how good this is. You absolutely nailed this. I'm a huge Will Millar fan and this reminded me of an Irish combo track he did titled "Haunted Kenban" from a cd called Celtic Whispers. This cover has that same amazing haunting magic surrounding it (most of your tracks do, but this one is something extra special). Just fantastic work all around with the arrangement and performance. Thank you for all the music you make.
Dude, I love playing these games, and I've been picking up instruments recently, you've been a role model of where I want to be in the future, keep it up man, I love the covers.
@@trackernivrig I already knew viola and violin pretty well, started picking up guitar again after dropping it for two years, and I've been learning piano since around January.
Literally just practice at least 30 minutes everyday, no specific time, do what ever you want whenever you want, get used to the instrument, it will work, just put in time
Amazing! Normally the upper octaves of the Tin whistle sound like a mouse screaming at you, but if you use it with the right speed and notes it sounds really good 😂
Hello Tim de Man! I have two suggestions that would be pretty cool! I would like to see the Melody of Memory version of Dearly Beloved from Kingdom Hearts and Eterna Forest from Diamond and Pearl!
These are all tin whistles / pennywhistles in differing keys. The low one is a Low D Tin Whistle. They're very accessible to learn but require quite a bit of reverb for maximum effect!
Tim, I’m still wondering, what kind of flute is that? It’s used a lot in your Celtic covers and also in some Pixar movies if you know what I mean. It immediately adds an adventurous sound.
The whistles used on this are Susato whistles, they're quite affordable! Recently I've upgraded to MK Whistles which are a great step up in quality, but in price too.
That's a good question. There's no sheet music for the Celtic stuff. If I would make it I'd offer it for free like the piano stuff :). It's a lot more complicated compared with piano - with all the different instruments' notation methods.

Probably one of the saddest themes in all of Zelda and you really brought out the emotion in it. Well done! It made me emotional 😭
I initially wanted to keep it a little more grounded because the original isn't *that* grand, but the tune just lead me here =P . Once I started embracing the drama it went really smoothly.
For a game that made a first appearance on a hand-held system, the music is without a doubt the most emotional Zelda song in the franchise.
This is one of those covers that actually deserves the word "epic" in the video title. Dude.
Haha, I don't use the word "epic" lightly =P .

Youre getting sort of an idol weirdly. Its so inspiring to Listen to your covers.
That's very kind of you =). I've been struggling with this arrangement for a while, but ultimately all those hours of work paid off!
Tim de Man - Game Music Covers I can tell you spent a LONG time on this. It came out really good.

I hope they bring back the Celtic inspiration from the Wind Waker into a new Zelda game. You're music is beautiful!
Yeah I love that folky angle they have sometimes!

You can do it! Slow and steady does it - and playing music you love certainly helps as well =) .
Which instruments specifically?
@@trackernivrig I already knew viola and violin pretty well, started picking up guitar again after dropping it for two years, and I've been learning piano since around January.

This is honestly the best cover of this song I've ever heard and I've listened to tons of them
I love the tonality transitions
Thanks Angery Bear, when I built those in I finally started to see where the piece had to go =) .
What’s that, no I’m not crying, I just decided to squeeze lemons into my eyeballs.
That's obviously a very normal thing to do.

It's a penny whistle / tin whistle! Traditional Irish flutes.
