Also, most Les Pauls just come in Gibson USA, Dirty Finger, or PAF pickups. ESP/LTD comes in either Seymor Duncan or EMG's, so you get a wider selection.
I have this sone for 3 months and I think it's very nice. Good sound, especially clean, maybe not so perfect for heavy distorted play. It's really great for its prize. ^^
@benkens It's because it wasn't really meant for clean sound, I have one myself and I have to agree, the clean sounds not that great, but for it performs really well on the crunch sound, and it also suprised me that the drop D and C sound awesome!
its got great sound and i have it in this color and this vid, any pictures you may find do not do the guitar justice i think, its like a wet dream come to life, if your just learning to play and are on a budget, this is the guitar for you
this was my first electric guitar and I dont regret, for such a low price really fair guitar. Pickups weren't that great but it's good to play. Excellent for beginners IMO :)
The ESP 401 and 500 are the same, and I believe the differences between those and the 1000 series are just the finishes, (the flame/quilted maple top and the abalone purfing). Besides that, I believe they're the same. Same materials, same pickups, same manufacturing plant.
buy it,i own it and it's a good and cheap axe, and it's also quite versatile...it's perfect for metal(so if you're into metallica stuff you'll be satisfied), but it also suits well hard rock, grunge and punk stuff...
I've never played the Kramer but I hear that the quad-rail pickups in it are fantastic for the price that the guitar is. You get a coil tapping mode with that as well so I'd probably go with that over the ESP.
i have a 15 w fender frontman and my problem is with the overdrive channel, which doesn't sound good at all...however, i think i'm gonna buy a big muff pedal for this purpose...maybe i'll get the marshall within a few years...
1: try to hold it down closer to the fret 2: adjust the position of the string with the tune-o-matic 3: change strings/use strings that are thicker, for example heavy strings or heavy bottom/light top strings
Got it last week in black! Very beautiful guitar with a fat sound and btw ist quite heavy so i have to play with a belt. Nice 4 modern metal and the clean is very sweet to, i love it
the marshal is a great investent dude... if you want something small that screams, get the marshal MG15DFX.. i really like it. you could get combo amps, but it's really up to u
if u r goin for EC-1000 then i would recommend u go for epiphone les paul slash goldtop which is almost the same price... or else go for EC-50 for low budget entry level guitar but EC-1000 wont come close to epiphone slash goldtop sustain, durability, finished etc. i have epiphone slash goldtop, ec-50 (2tb) and michael kelly patriot decree... among all these three i still love michael kelly for the looks :)
i would reccommend this guitar for ANYONE!!!! i bought this for 200!!! and i think its a major steal for how good it sounds, with the stock pickups, i did put zakk wyldes pair of EMG's in it but thats just because i have an exact sound im going for, you will be able to play metallica, sabbath, really anything because i can go from some of my bluesiest licks to my heaviest thrash metal riffs with the switch of my distortion pedal,
I was thinking about getting one of these but in the left handed version. The lefty version won't be poorer quality because there are fewer of them will it?
Well, do you prefer the SG or the Les Paul shape? LTD are great guitars and they are cheap. In my opinion, you should go with LTD, they look whay better than Epiphones (not just the body, the headstock too). You can look for a LTD Viper-100FM, witch is like a SG, for about $300.
im gettin a new guitar in a couple of months should i get the jt 220 cs or the ec 50 i like the sound of the jt 220 cs and it fits my style....but the ec 50 fits my hands better what should i get?
is it worth it? for less money i could buy an epiphone les paul special 2. i think they sound the same. or if you know harley benton l400. cheaper, and i think same sound.
My guitar doesn't have those problems. The only problem with mine is that the input jack's wires in the guitar come off after a few months... But I can always soulder that back on.
thank you!!! a description that actually describes whats in the vid! oh and can we get someone who can actually play to demo the guitar next time. yeah.... and tune the guitar next time
should i get this, or the Epiphone Special II? I am just getting into guitars and have been playing for only like 3-4 months so i dont know a whole lot about this stuff.
Thanks for the demo, JD! World Music should probably disable the video comments, though... "tough crowd". Lol Love the videos showing off the ESP axes! Keep 'em coming.
i own this guitar, lemmy just say, I FUCKING LOVE IT!!!!!!!!! its the best guitar ive ever played on!!! this video, any pictures you may find, the sound in the vid, nothing compares to actually having it in your possesion right in front of you! seriosly! i love it! i highly recommend this guitar! its cheap and awesome stock, i do plan to put zakk wylde emg's in it but hey thats just me, with the pickups it has now its ounds insane, best guitar ever.
Go for the ESP-500 or ESP-401 if you care just about the playing and are on a budget. Get the EC-1000 if you care about the looks and have more money on you.
I've had this guitar 3yrs and despite this video, this guitar really shines pleayed CLEAR or with light compression. The EC-50 is not well suited for heavy distortion types beacuse it doesnt have the "spectrum" of pinch harmonics you get when playing for example an Ibanez of the same price range. For anyone looking for Jazzier tones or Blues/Rock in a tight budget, however, it does not get better than this. Also, this guitar comes w/ .9 strings. I wuld highly recommend .11 or .10 minimum.
I need to know how to set my voloume and tone controls for the ordinary rock setting, right now my guitar(ec 50) sounds like an acoustic sometimes. How should i set the volume and tone controls.
that it does, i have a behringer somethingorother preamp and this guitar sounds sick without my pedals ( the batteries died :( ) and it can do more things than my BC rich warlock can. i would like to get a mesa boogie amp when i am rich.
WOW WOW...two pickups, one here one there, about 24 frets??? It's like Peter Frampton's LP, but without the middle pickup over there. This guitar So awesome, no need to tune it. Yes kids, you can be a guitar god too. Just like this player/luthier.
well i can only speak for myself, it worked for me, but if my methods don't do the trick, your way is the only one to solve this problem, i suppose. =)
you can but its gooing to cost you alot of money and effort you should better buy one that alrady hass whammy try the esp kh206 its an ec with emgs and floydrose trem its pretty cool
wow.... i never knew there was a tone burst version of the EC-50. Oh well I have a F-50 anyway, same pickups and similar hardware (sounds similar anyway). Cant believe I got my guitar right before they stopped making agathis guitars T_T.
why the hell does every guitar this guy plays have a nice cleaner kind of crisp kind of sound when played clean :-P just check out all the other videos.
we got esp pickups
one right here
one right here
genius observation.
Just got one all red and I love it, the tones are rocking
It has about 24 frets- But it varies sometimes
Also, most Les Pauls just come in Gibson USA, Dirty Finger, or PAF pickups. ESP/LTD comes in either Seymor Duncan or EMG's, so you get a wider selection.
I have this sone for 3 months and I think it's very nice. Good sound, especially clean, maybe not so perfect for heavy distorted play. It's really great for its prize. ^^
Now that's a great demo!
Thanks for posting.
@benkens It's because it wasn't really meant for clean sound, I have one myself and I have to agree, the clean sounds not that great, but for it performs really well on the crunch sound, and it also suprised me that the drop D and C sound awesome!
I want an ec-50 with that color, NOW
I have it and i play metal all the time, it's a great guitar!
its got great sound and i have it in this color and this vid, any pictures you may find do not do the guitar justice i think, its like a wet dream come to life, if your just learning to play and are on a budget, this is the guitar for you
I own this guitar and I ocassionaly tune it in C with 10-42 gibson strings and works great... stil has nice tension to play.
this was my first electric guitar and I dont regret, for such a low price really fair guitar. Pickups weren't that great but it's good to play. Excellent for beginners IMO :)

gonna buy it for few weeks, so excited :P

thanks man...i really think it will be my next amp
1: try to hold it down closer to the fret
2: adjust the position of the string with the tune-o-matic
3: change strings/use strings that are thicker, for example heavy strings or heavy bottom/light top strings
Got it last week in black! Very beautiful guitar with a fat sound and btw ist quite heavy so i have to play with a belt. Nice 4 modern metal and the clean is very sweet to, i love it
oh it's a electric guitar ? REALY ?! can't believe it , wouldn't have imagined if you wouldn't have mentioned it xD
i have the ec 200, and it is just awesome! i love esp guitars

There is only one guy on youtube who can demo guitars the proper way --Paul Rario
I have this guitar and its awsome.I also have 2 stratocasters.
@Backbone100 yes it can. the ec series is perfect for post hardcore sound.
I was thinking about getting one of these but in the left handed version. The lefty version won't be poorer quality because there are fewer of them will it?
Well, do you prefer the SG or the Les Paul shape?

The 50 models sound great if you change out the bridge pickup on them. I own the viper-50, and these guitars can really crank!
the bottom and top pickups...yea those are the neck and bridge pick ups.....this guy is a genius
It's nerves dude. Not everyone is a natural
im gettin a new guitar in a couple of months should i get the jt 220 cs or the ec 50 i like the sound of the jt 220 cs and it fits my style....but the ec 50 fits my hands better what should i get?
Yea i have the black one too :D Its pretty good for the price
Yes, Chris Cannella From Jackson Guitars, Rulz!
is it worth it? for less money i could buy an epiphone les paul special 2. i think they sound the same. or if you know harley benton l400. cheaper, and i think same sound.
porque en la pagona esp ltd, no sale la ec 50 color gris?? es que la misma es de otro año o que?? y creo que la madera no es la misma??
can i use a normal guitar cover for the ec-50 or is there some special cover for it..
My guitar doesn't have those problems. The only problem with mine is that the input jack's wires in the guitar come off after a few months... But I can always soulder that back on.
distortion mostly depends on the amp your using my friend
yeah, it has two volumes so it can be done
most useful part of the review with most infos at 3:37

It sounds great! Where can you find it in that colour?
thank you!!! a description that actually describes whats in the vid! oh and can we get someone who can actually play to demo the guitar next time. yeah.... and tune the guitar next time

Thanks for the demo, JD! World Music should probably disable the video comments, though... "tough crowd". Lol Love the videos showing off the ESP axes! Keep 'em coming.

Good entrance level electric guitar...

Are those custom order strings you reccomend??
"The tail and bridge are pretty neat". Yeah those are always good to have. Hilarious.
I need to know how to set my voloume and tone controls for the ordinary rock setting, right now my guitar(ec 50) sounds like an acoustic sometimes. How should i set the volume and tone controls.
I think it's a Marshall MG 100 HDFX, this Amp sounds good!
shit, i love ESP LTD guitars, they have something that is different to other guitars
LTD EC - 50 or EPIPHONE G-400???
help me decide
the only thing ive had wrong with my guitar is my neck pickup volume knob came of and i had to repair it but it was fine.. great guitar
It may be a marshall 30 watt, because its in the background.
i got this guitar and i wish i had a better amp...i want a marshall it sounds awesome on it
This is better than "most" LP shape guitars for its price. :P
I have an ec 50 but it says made in indonesia and the pickups don't have any esp sign on them. and it has a different cutaway. X(
i might end up with this guitar
is that a bolt on neck or set neck./.
Is it better than an esp m 50 ?
that it does, i have a behringer somethingorother preamp and this guitar sounds sick without my pedals ( the batteries died :( ) and it can do more things than my BC rich warlock can. i would like to get a mesa boogie amp when i am rich.
@RawrGuitar1022 You should get the ltd.. I personally prefer the feel of the neck..=)
is this guitar heavy? more than 3.5kg
and can anybody tell me it it's top heavy
the first chord is just brutal... hate that amp but i admit that ONLY THE FIRST CHORD on that particular video sounds brutal
the neck is black pretty glossy. its pretyy good i would get it
WOW WOW...two pickups, one here one there, about 24 frets??? It's like Peter Frampton's LP, but without the middle pickup over there. This guitar So awesome, no need to tune it. Yes kids, you can be a guitar god too. Just like this player/luthier.
I was playing one at a local shop, and it was actually pretty thin.
thanks
for everyone, my friend
@jmsalex239 well you actually got guitar with 22 frets(I).

Does anyone know if a Les paul pickguard will fit on it?

Is the neck thick???

He's using that marshall amp in the backround

Plus, ESP/LTD is aimed more towards metal and heavy music.

If you would chose between ESP LTD EC50 and Ibanez GRG270B wich guitar would you chose?? please help!
The HH Fender Squier.
Definitely the LTD, its way better build than those Ibanez Gio
wow.... i never knew there was a tone burst version of the EC-50. Oh well I have a F-50 anyway, same pickups and similar hardware (sounds similar anyway).
Cant believe I got my guitar right before they stopped making agathis guitars T_T.
thanks...however, i got no hurry to buy a new amp...and i'm gonna try it before buying it
'There's about 24 frets on here'
'All the way on the bottom pickup'
Seriously.. Who hired this guy??
"the chrome, the chrome bridge and tail right here are also pretty neat.... " LMAO
when i played that guitar in stores, i was not playing blues i was playing metalcore/post-hardcore >.>
@tubaeli93 agree!
What is he playing at 2:05 ?
why the hell does every guitar this guy plays have a nice cleaner kind of crisp kind of sound when played clean :-P
just check out all the other videos.
