I downloaded the patch a little late. Flew around the new zone on my griffon. By the time I did that Lord Hizen had 3 full sets of armor, LOL. I think I'll try the new story tonight or maybe tomorrow.

Ok for those who are new or have never made a legendary, they have always been in steps. We already were aware this is not the complete look. Even if it were, you can transmog legendary gear as much as you want freely. Just think of these as a precursor.

If you look at PvP or WvW Armour, there are two versions. Tier 1 is the "base" armour. After unlocking Tier 1, you can then unlock Tier 2, with Tier 2 having glowing effects throughout the armour, updated visuals, and the WvW version's chestpiece having glowing tendrils similar to the Mursaat

in the raid leggy heavy armor for charr it transforms to cover the tail in armor when your weapon/s are unsheathed. Maybe they were also going for that in this armor set.

Of course there is a chance that you indeed created 3 characters with the same face, for each gender and race.
im warrior lover since start, i have all races chars except asura rats as zerker class just for different looks depending on my mood, literally one ranger that i made on the game launch and quit mid base-game storyline and then 6-7 warriors.. Some people have each race with multiple duplicates for male/female.

Meanwhile here I am, unsure of whether I will finish even one single piece before the end of the season to be able to claim the Astral Acclaim reward, lol.
Look, you could do it in one day. With all buffs and with mounts it didn't take so much time to get all of them. And let's be honest - lanterns were just boring, repeating them again and again 18 times (-1 if you done story achievements). And for farming essences - convergences boosted gathering them greatly + weekly rift hunting. Only problem that was was ectoplasm
Yeah, I had 2 full sets within 5 hours of playing ( maybe 8 hours after release), at that point the third set would have taken me about an hour more (6xlanterns). I did not save up stuff for set no 3, as I already have one set of raid armor and did this mainly to avoid having to kill 600 raid bosses. Although that would have been more time efficient probably.
Not going to lie, My fav concept art was medium, my fav preview was heavy from what they showed, but in game the best looking on everything is light armour somehow for me. So yeah, even though I said I wont bother getting soto armor, light might actually make me do it

You're a legend for getting these so quickly. But yet more bland generic armour skins from Anet. By all means guy get these but they just blend in with all the other bloand armour skins out there.

No, there's no animations on this set. The skins have no effects either. There's a second tier coming in 3 months (another set of skins) but we don't know what that'll look like or how you get it.
This is the thing... people are putting a lot of effort and materials into these armor sets WITHOUT even knowing what the end result will be. So I haven't done this at all. I first want to see what it is and then I'll decide whether or not I want to do it. And considering this is a 3-part process, I'm unlikely to do it at all. Besides, when T2 of these armor sets comes out, we'll have the next expansion on the horizon. I just don't see how that's smart of Anet but then again, I might be the exception. I'm very close to finishing my last legendary armor set and so getting this would be purely for the skins, which is exactly why I haven't started on them yet 🤷♂

since the introduction of the _legendary armory_ all legendary items can be worn by any character on the account who qualifies by level and class. what you unlock is more than a skin, it is the mechanic behind it like changing attributes outside of combat as much as you want etc. if you equip a legendary item the [non-legendary] item which was in that slot gets moved to your inventory.

I love how for the charr heavy set theres an extended piece covering the root if the tail, its so cute!

Some people have maxed out character slots. Two genders of each weight for every race isn't a lot to those people.

GUYS! Check out the guild wars 1 obsidian armors sets. Still one of my favorite armor designs in gaming history! Female Mesmer best one.

Disappointing they went with a mesmer look again for the light set. Not many elementalist or necromancer inspired sets around as it is.

Tier one has no effect or animations, tier 2 will come with the next major update, with animations or effect.

I parked 43 alts at each lantern, then I logged into each of them on a rotation. Ding ding ding DONE
