The Shortcut DOES come with a pivot tool. Completely missed this. I had this pointed out by another viewer and when i checked the original packaging, sure enough, it was there. Sorry about that!

Man I felt the Exceed Designs TIRANT RAZOR V3 was expensive for a box cutter. Though I still saw it could be worth it for the action etc. This thing is on another level. I could never pay that much for something that is basically just a carrier/holder for the actual cutting tool. It's beautiful for sure. But it could never be worth the price to me personally. Same with their OTF tbh. Other brands use the same materials at half the cost. These dudes using the USA manufacturing premium to another level lol

That Wick Deadlock is ridiculous cost wise.
Hawk was taking so much shit for posting this drop. Its so unfair and you nailed it, if you think the $5 home depot knife will do it then by all means do it... i will spend the money for this amazing "box cutter" and i will use the shit out of it like i would anything else. to each their own!

Its the same with Pens, you can get a custom Matthew Martin for $500 or a bic for .10c (or a Mont Blanc for >3k...), they do the same task, but one has materials and design that some people see value in! I just wish there was International shipping options in the drops so far

Comes with both the pivot tool and blade screw tool from Hawk directly. I have an extra of both if you need.
If you watch his unboxing from last month, his also came with these tools. He just seems to have forgotten. Unboxing knives constantly will probably do that 😂
I just like anything designed by the Hawks.
I love my shortcut. If you haven't tried it, remove the pocket clip for a week. Much more comfortable and "funner" to fidget with.
Yours came with the pivot tool, it was in your September video unboxing. Along with the t9.

Hawk has the screw as a T9. I just looked at the email from them..also the pivot tool comes with it
I use utility knives every day. They are my EDC. I have a fixed blade handle, a folder and a Uber cheapie plastic handle.
I want this one so much......

I think reason you need a screw on the blade holder is because it uses most of the length on the razor blade.
I ordered a Stinger Utility Comb for mine whenever I get mine I might have to modify it to fit inside the Shortcut but it’ll be cool to have a comb to fidget
I like those serrated blades a lot. I've started using them in all my pocket utility blade holder knives.
Any idea what brand of serrated blade Hawk includes with the knife?
@@EldenLord84 I'm not sure what Hawk is using but the ones I've been using are Rapid Edge RT00004. That's what it says on the pack. It's a ten pack for about ten bucks.
Hats off to the Pied Piper who has gathered so many lemmings on behalf of the manufacturer. A Base Price of $475 as listed on manufacturer official website is audacious and rapacious treatment of their loyal lemmings. Good luck to everyone of you - especially those of you who charged your credit 💳.
Honestly, because it’s such a small company with a (justifiably) long production time, I wish they would just focus on making more deadlocks. I like the shortcut (not enough to buy one), it’s cool enough, but the world needs more Deadlocks!!!
Knife shows is the way to pick those Deadlocks up.
Evidently these Shortcuts are easier to make. There seem to be much more of them compared to Deadlocks.

FYI: Hawk Knives was not accepting credit cards at Blade West. I’ve always thought knife shows were a good way to get a Hawk knife.

Might take you an extra 15 seconds. That's not really a valid complaint in my opinion. Also you wouldn't carry this on a build site. You'd probably just use a regular utility knife

Higher priced blades are definitely worth it. Stanley art a minimum..... Biut then you can get a 100 blade dispenser with a cheap handle. As with any knife it friend what you are doing.

It looks like it, but I'm pretty sure it's not. It looks like the one side is a separate piece. And I believe I remember seeing a video from over a year ago when it was first prototyped, hawk mentioned it was not.

Around 5:20 he talks about the the backspacer being integral to the show side, then shows the scale with the backspacer as one piece a few seconds later.

Looks very well made but I find it hard to see the value in this over a budget box cutter (Milwaukee for example) or semi premium box cutter (exceed designs tirant razor for example). To me the heart of a knife is the blade, and while I get having premium scales and hardware on a knife, this just seems like buying a Ferrari an putting a Ford focus engine in it.

These aren't really made for value but just so you know they cost 475 and sell for 600 plus on the secondary, seen a couple of them sale for 1395 on az custom recently. I guess that's where the value comes in. There likely will never be enough to go around just like all hawk knives...

@@metal_complex it's the angle of attack....you know the angle that you use on like a crkt CEO? About 45 ish degrees. Once you find it it's easy. Took me a few days to figure it out.... really satisfying when you do:)
