Just to clarify: ADHD is a serious problem. I do not take it lightly and my intent was not to offend! If I did, I do apologize. I get so many comments lately about going faster, while at the same time many other from users that wish RUclipsrs would take these topics slower. I probably could have said that better -- sometimes my frustration with the whole TikTok 30-second 'hook them fast' thing shines through. I appreciate the feedback and will remember this for next time/video.
Hey, yes, that might not have been very tactical! I did not watch the moment before your comment, so I don’t know how it would feel if I heard it without paying attention to hear it.
But for someone with ADHD, please realize that it’s not all about being fast, but actually mostly about being interesting! And since your video’s are always high-quality and in-depth, and presented in an fresh and entertaining manner, that means I am interested to see them if they fit what I need to know!
So yes, the comment about ADHD might not have been so tactical, but as someone with the disorder, realize that it doesn’t mean I am let down by the length of your video’s, not at all! Your knowledge and style of presenting are so engaging that you trigger the good sides of my ADHD!
Thanks for the clarification was a bit like oof at the beginning. I do multi task with videos because it is hard to give 100% focus but I am also not looking for a ticktok video your content is great the way it is.
@@BTMovieSecondChannel i dont get how people get offended by this. its quite clear what he is talking about. people nowadays...
As I am older, I much appreciate a paced vlog! Specially when learning something new, where you don't forget to tell us about very important points! Thank you for a great vlog about flashes!!!!!!!!! :) BTW I have a NISI flash, they are another great option. Thank you!
@@tris0913 Hey of course it’s clear that it is about those 30-seconds TikToks I also tend to detest. It’s not like because I have ADHD, I like only TikTok-style video’s and dislike long-form video’s. As you can read I don’t want at all to be a ‘Gutmensch’ or act offended, I just called it no so tactical. I think we are more similar than you think
Man I can't believe I didn't notice your channel sooner. I'm a teacher, it's been my day job for over 20 years. I can tell you both as a teacher and as a photographer that you're an excellent educator, your explanations are straight to the point and very clear. This must be a crazy amount of work, seriously I'm thrilled!
This man really deserves a million subs. Keep it up, man! For us amateurs, these videos are really helpful!
I was just thinking, these videos you are producing are like taking a college course on photography, only in snippets and replay-able as many times as needed. I became a photographer for business in 1989, and although develop/stop/fix are long past for me, the principles of photography remain. Nice work Chris, very helpful to many. RUclips has evolved into a great resource.
Thank you, 4 years later i finally accepted i don't know how to use flash. The video was easy to understand and now i got my flash working and taking pictures,.
Just AWESOME…….flash photography has always been very confusing for me…this is sooooooo helpful!
This is what I needed it. I'm so excited for the next lessons! I've always struggle shooting with flash and decided to not bother with it until today thanks to you.
If you own a Fuji camera, Pal2Tech teaches how to use it in the best way. Highly, highly recommend!
I’m so happy that this video came out. I was definitely intimidated with flash and taking bite size chunks to learn helps a lot. I don’t feel rushed and overwhelmed.
Chris, you have no idea how much I needed this video series right now!
I’ve avoided flash as best as possible over the years and while I have a 350f for my Fujis I only use it when absolutely necessary.
Can’t wait for the next instalment!
It's crazy how good this series of videos is. I've been using flash in all sorts of applications for nearly two years - but I'm still learning heaps from these. Thank you!
Great topic, Chris! I consider myself an advanced flash user, and I remember how hard it was to learn. I'm confident that your approach to this subject will make this a lot easier for new adherents. Use of flash just opens up a whole wide world of additional photo making opportunities.
Chris, you are a saviour! I've had my Godox flash for a couple of years and just couldn't figure it all out. I've watched other videos, read articles - nothing helped. Now I get it! Thank you so much. Can't wait for lesson 2.
Amazingly helpful first video. I've had a flash sat on the shelf for a few months now, largely unused. This series and the way you present it is absolutely what I needed.
I cannot tell you what a fabulous video this has been. I’ve looked at so many other vids, read books and I’ve always been so confused and intimidated. What a difference hearing you talk about the speed light I’ve got and camera. Well it’s an XT-2 but the menu is similar. I feel much more empowered and won’t look at #2 until I’ve nailed the first one. Thanks Chris. It’s been a lightbulb moment
My first foray in to flash. Thank you for breaking it down in to bite-size chunks. I can take it as I need, and get a handle on it slowly but surely. Love your work!
Thank you. It is truly appreciated that you are tackling this important subject. Looking forward to future episodes.
Thank you!
I've been doing flash photography since 2016, all I can say is, it never hurts to get back to the basics. Especially when photography is not your full time job.
So excited about this series!
Cannot wait for next lessons!
Oh yeah, I am so very very glad I am a member of this channel, I know the bacic things, to use flash, but I really want to get better at it.
Thank you so much for spending the time on these lessons… I have an X-S10 and a Godox 350 and the pro transmitter… the whole flash thing is so complicated and you explanation fantastic!!! Looking forward to lesson 2!!!
So nice Chris to have this catalogue to refer to. I love shooting with my Fuji cameras and you have taught me much over the journey in an engaging manner. When it's time to try something new (just bought myself a godox flash, prompted by an upcoming party event a friend asked if I would photograph for them), I know just where to turn to get me up to speed. Thanks you again for all of your quality content - it's invaluable.
Much needed. Please keep the series coming uppppp
This is incredibly educational. I bought the Godox 350F flash during the early months of Covid 19 with the hope of learning some flash photography. Never opened the box. Today I found myself turning the room upside down searching for it. Thank you very much Chris.
Hi Pal2tech, I am commercial photography student and this topic are on my 1st and 2nd semester but this are still very helpful. I appreciate you doing this as it help a lot of beginners as well.
I only came across your channel two weeks ago and I’m really enjoying it - I love your quick fire delivery. I’m really pleased you are doing a class on flash. I’ve had an 860ii gathering dust for about three years and coincidentally had just bought a whopping great softbox to learn product and food photography. I’m getting the hang of it but it will be great to share in your expertise. Very much looking forward to the next one. Thank you!
Bingo! So glad to see you covering this topic in depth! I know just barely enough to be dangerous, so getting the details will be great - thank you!
Thank you! I just recently bought my flash and still learning how to use it and this video has been very helpful. I love the pace and the homework at the end. I can’t wait to get better at it too. Flash is no longer that complicated ‘do not touch’ subject for me as this video encouraged me to take it up. Thank you so much
I love all your videos. IMO, you are the best teacher so far. This video explains super clear the basic of flash. Thank you.
Oh and by the way your pace is perfect after all this is technical info and it shouldn’t be rushed. Stay the course. Thanks
This was the perfect first lesson. I got a flash a while ago and have never used it, I'm super excited go grab it and work on my homework!
Excited for all the upcoming lessons
Thank you Chris. Mine is still in the box for the last year and a half 😂 I’ll give it another shot. Much appreciated it 👍🏼
I got into photography a few months ago, and have loved your videos since day one, can’t wait for the rest of this series
You sir are a legend, thankyou oh so much for this very helpful/inspiring lesson! I wish I had found you sooner! Much love from New Zealand!
Chris, Thank you very much for your care and ability to transfer knowledge. Love what you’ve taught about Flash today. Good onya
Just excellent presentation Chris. This series is a great idea. Thank you very much!
Thanks, Chris, I just got my first “big boy /big girl” hot shoe flash and this is just the level of instruction I need to demystify things and make it less intimidating. Homework was very suitable, too … in other tutorials and books I sometimes read a nice explanation but then the practice exercise is the equivalent of “fly to London and take 40 pictures of different scenes at three different settings each, and on your own analyze them for features a b and c, and there aren’t any wrong answers because it is art.” Your assignment was easy to do at home and good for confidence building for the next step.
Thanks for this tutorial. I have to confess that I’m one of those people who owns a flash but it has hardly come out of its box as I have been a bit intimidated with how to use it effectively. As always, you introduce it in a logical and practical way without being condescending. Truly appreciated!
Given the excellent detail, pace and scope of this one video this series has all the potential for being your best yet (and the previous ones were good!). I've used flash for years but I'm fairly new to Fujifilm and Godox so even this dinosaur learnt something. The effort you've put into this shines through. Thank you.
Thank you Chris. Your videos have been of such value to me as a returning to photography amature photographer. I recently got the xt-5 and I am getting used to it, but needed a flash to do a family event. I picked up the Godox tt685 II f and just got started with this video and I feeling much more confident. Thank you and I will be moving on the the second video after doing my homework.
Yesterday I was thinking to get a flash to boost my photos and today I saw your video of flash. This is destiny.
So glad for your video on the flash! Thanks, Chris!!!
Pal2tech IS THE MAN!!!
So excited about this series! Thank you! I love having Homework! Thank you.
For someone like me that English is my second language I appreciate you slow down a bit, believe it or not, it makes it easy to comprehend everything that you are talking about.
This couldn’t have come at a better time!!! I recently bought a Godox flash for my Xt-2! Thank you so much!
Amazing..every new video there is something new to learn ! Thank you !
Thank you ... can't wait for next part...
Great video / tutorial. Can't wait to see the new installment.
I´ve seen so many flash videos, so I was thinking about skipping this, but I´m glad I didn´t. Now I´m looking forward to the next one. Thank you Chris. This was the best flash course I´ve come across. ☺️
Thank you for your great explanations about lightning. That certainly takes away the fear of many. I'm already looking forward to the next episode.
This, right here, is why you are the best. Thank you!
Looking forward to your flash series. What a GREAT idea.
Thanks.
Just purchased a v350f for my xt30, I definitely will be watching this video a couple more times because this was actually a situation I was hovering around.. I have never used flash and know it’s something important to learn for photography! Thanks in advance!
Chris, thanks. I am revisiting using my flash. As a matter of fact I just went upstairs to my office and shot a matchbox car using your instructions and WOW, what a difference. Now, practice, practice. Thanks
I keep learning from you everyday! Your inimitable style of sharing is what makes all the difference in learning- love it. Your passion is infective. Thank you Sir!
Thank you so much Partha!! 🙏
Thank you! Hyped for the next videos :)
Thanks Chris - I now have the XT-3, the TT685f II, and the GPRO f .. I've watched two step through tutorials by other experts on the Godox kit and was left bemused. I have just watched your part 1 tutorial and it has made things 1000 times clearer, and the homework session has worked, the hands-on element reinforces what you are teaching us. I'm now looking forward to basics 2 and 3. Thanks so much for these tutorials, they are an exemplar of how it should be done.
Happy coincidence - today I bought a Godox TT685II to use with my X-T4. Having never set up a flash before, much less use one, I found your video which was way easier to understand than the manual/s. Now I feel like my first foray into the world of flash photography will be considerably less intimidating than if I had tried to make sense of the manuals and in a much shorter time too. Thanks for your always high value videos.
What a Great video Chris, Fantastic!!!!!!!
Chris fast and packed however just the right snippet of time. Now to absorb and assimilate and do my homework! Your right many have been overwhelmed with flash and especially the double menu thing. menu on camera and menu on flash!!! Gish! thank you so much!
Thank you for teaching flash photography, and for going sloooooow. I appreciate your easily digestible lessons and homework is fun😁
I feel enthused now that I have seen your video! I shall use my flash asap that I've had for a few years and not used it!
This is the best Fuji and flash usage ever!!!! Thanks I'm a Nikon guy and never fully understood the Fuji system for flash use.
You have contributed more to the Fujifilm community than all the Fujifilm ambassadors put together. Iam looking forward to getting myself an XT5, thanks to you.
I am so looking forward to this series. I've had a flash (Godox 685) and a transmitter for a couple of years now and I've rarely used them because I have no idea what I'm doing. Thanks for this!
By far the best flash videos I have seen on RUclips. I do have a Nikon but everything adapts very easily. Great Job - Please keep them coming.
Thank you 🙏
Your lesson is awesome!! Very clear in fundamental that I look for a long time.
You really are a gift to photographers everywhere! I have been glued to your channel and learnt so much.
You're a national treasure @pal2tech. This is a great tutorial for newbie like me who's been fearful of 📸 flash photos. Thank you!
I have adhd, people forget that it's not the inability to focus, its really the ability to hyperfocus on what interests you.
I REALLY want to take my photography to the next step and have the flash as an extra club in the bag, do this really wasn't an issue. Thank you so much for breaking this down into chewable pieces!
Subbing for sure. You're a great teacher, sir!
Going to be honest, I'd much rather learn from you, than go to school for this.
Great video, I bought a flash a couple of months ago and gave up on understanding how it works. Thanks to your video I took I out again to give it another try and it was so much simpler:) Thank you so much Chris!
So GOOOOOOOOD!!⚡️🔥
So many questions answered here. thank you so much! Can't wait for the next part
This is so helpful. Greatly appreciate the effort you’ve put into this.
Chris you are my go to ( and Omar G) when I need to understand something. This is something I’ve needed forever, I have a flash just sitting that I need to start using. Thank you!!!!!!
I’m really looking forward to lesson 2, thank you!
Always watched your Fuji camera and lens review then I discover this.... I really appreciate your effort on this. Really helps much for a beginner in photography like me. Thank you Chris.
This video was SO helpful! Thank you!!
This video arrived on my feed at the right time. Literally received my Godox in the mail today for my Fuji XT4 and the “homework” was the best way to start learning what I can do basically with my new toy. Looking forward to the future videos!
Perfect, so needed, thank you!!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS ! i now finally have a basic understanding of flash, its always been overwhelming and ive hesitated to take it on but you made it all so clear. the lesson is greatly appreciated and now i can begin to apply it. thank you thank you thank you!
I was looking for an intro for beginners about how to use the flash and this video is exactly what I needed. Super useful information and clear explanation. Moreover the "homework" at the end of extremely helpful and made me trying different things. This is a fantastic format. I look forward to watching the other videos of this series. Thanks for the great content!
Non voglio perdermi nemmeno un secondo delle tue lezioni perché spieghi benissimo… Complimenti sei veramente bravo, un vero professionista👍📸
in 20 minutes i went from im afraid of flash, to now I understand a glimpse of it. Thank you so much for keeping it straight and simple. Now off to buying my first flash
Thanks a lot pal 2 tech!! This is exactly what I needed I've been so lazy to do the research myself. I wasn't super interesting in flash photography before. Now I got the 685 and this is helping so much!!!
Another great demo/presentation. Look forward to see see the episode.
This is crazy helpful! Thank you so much for making this content.
I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW APPRECIATIVE I AM FOR THIS VIDEO!!!!! Been a decent photog for many years but only do outdoor stuff because I couldn't wrap my brain around how to use my flash correctly, which was so frustrating. This was immensely helpful to me! Also, I have ADHD and found your comment funny :) it was not offensive.
Always superior instruction. No one does it better
Awesome video! This series is going to help me so much! I was giving up on flash already!
Thank you so much! Keep the good job!
Finally! I have been waiting for this video for so long.
Thank you so much for this lesson and your enthusiasm.
תודה רבה אתה פשוט אלוף, ההסברים שלך כל מקצועיים ופשוטים ממש אומן. שוב תודה
Thank you! It's a tough to wrap your head around everything that needs to know. Needs this for these indoor winter months.
You are life saver. I'm trying to learn how to use flashes with my fuji camara ever since I got my X-T3. Thank you so much for this lesson. Waiting for more ❤
What a great topic to start with. You're right the there are so many different flash units they are intimidating, that is why I shy away from using it. Looking forward to the next lesson.....Neil
