Everything about this gentleman is brilliant he deserves his moment of greatness.
This guy is awesome 👏🏻👏🏻
Im From Sligo. Love to see it.
GOD bless Martin Dempsey and God bless all the Irish soldiers who fought for America over the last 200 year's who were the most ethnic group who fought for America in fact in the civil war of 1860 to ? The Irish fought more than anyone for black freedom
Thank you. I take great comfort from your last sentence and I hope and pray you are right. I am Irish and my heart has been broken over the last 6 years because of the Irish Americans disgracing their homeland and their Irish ancestors. It appears many of them who have lost their Irish hearts..so despicable and shameful. 🇮🇪 💚☘️
@@eringobragh236 because of ignorance, they very little about Ireland, its history and probably never visited.
@@timlinator I suppose you're right..yet they're happy to trade on their Irish names. Those are the kind of Irish traitors we sing about in our Irish songs. A Parcel of Rogues, ( Scottish 🏴💙 Rabbie Burns, performed by Luke Kelly,) sums too many of them up perfectly. 🇮🇪☘️💚🇮🇪
@@eringobragh236You ever wear A UNIFORM BUB! Four years serving under this great soldier sonny boy including a deployment in Iraq! 🤨🇺🇸

The fighting Irish is real audi Murphy is the most decorated American soldier of all time
COTRECT
Brilliant
after that song...Hooah, Sir. I'm sad I never served under you.
I've not heard this song before but I recognise the melody from the old song 'Hot Ashphalt'
Well, good evening all my jolly lads, I'm glad to find you well
If you'll gather all around me now, a story I will tell
For I've got a situation, and begorrah and begob
I can whisper I've the weekly wage of nineteen bob
'tis twelve months come October since I left my native home
After helping them Killarney boys to bring the harvest down
But now I wear a geansaí, around my waist a belt
I'm the gaffer of the squad that makes the hot ashphalt
Chorus:
We laid it in the hollows and we laid it in the flat
And if it doesn't last forever, sure I swear I'll eat my hat
Well I wandered up and down the world but sure I've never felt
Any surface that was equal to the hot asphalt
The other night a copper comes, and he says to me 'Maguire,
Would you kindly let me light my pipe down at your boiler fire?'
He planks himself straight down in front, with hobnails up till late
Here, says I, my decent man you better go and find your beat
He ups and yells 'I'm down on you, I'm up to all your pranks,
Don't I know you for a traitor from the Tipperary ranks?'
Boys, I hit straight from the shoulder, I gave him such a belt
And I knocked him into the boiler full of hot asphalt
Chorus
We quickly pulled him out again and threw him in the tub
And with soap and warm water we began to rub and scrub
But, divil the thing, it hardened and it turned him hard as stone
And with every other rub sure you could hear the copper groan
I'm thinking, says O'Reilly, that he's looking like Old Nick
And burn me if I'm not inclined to claim him with my pick
Ah now, says I, it would be easier to boil him till he melts
And to stir him nice and easy in the hot asphalt
Chorus
You may talk about your sailor lads, ballad singers, and the rest,
Your shoemakers and your tailors, but we please the ladies best
The only ones who know the way their flinty hearts to melt
Are the lads around the boiler making hot asphalt
With rubbing and with scrubbing, sure I caught my death of cold
For scientific purposes, my body it was sold
In the Kelvin Grove Museum, my boys, I'm hanging in my pelt
As a monument to the Irish making hot asphalt
Excelent - best o luck to ya m8
GENERAL MARTIN DEMPSEY ACCEPTENCE SPEECH at IRISH AMERICA HALL of FAME - 20160408
Thanks,we never would have known.
hard not to like u Marti.
haha great singer and outlook on life
People and ceremonies like this make me wonder how my life would have worked out if I’d taken up that green card.
IRELAND AND DUBLIN FOREVER . AND OUR IRISH CULTURE. Typical paddy keeps on hand on pocket in case prods steal from it. That tune is the hot asphalt. Listen to luke kelly singing proper version
Must’ve raised some dough for the ‘RA at this event. Good pub singer though.
Shut up you little tosser, you probably are not good enough to be his boot man, why is it you always get little crackheads like you making comments about a real man , while you hide under your bed like a fart in the wind, just go away, away and fade into non existence where you came from, yours Audie Murphy
President Clinton left and I say "GOOD".
fook you.
@@Roselleg why he's right, clinton is a creep, do you think he was on epstein's jet all those times because he enjoyed flying ? wake up ffs
@@shutup2751 trump is a bigger creep also a buddy of epstein.
Someone is proud of this lad, the irish are not!
not Irish American. Ulster Scots. check your history
What you talking about?
Rice, my god ulster scots are Really Normans, check it out billy - who intermarried with the lowland scots and became the most bitter miserable people on earth would you please just go away, you people just hate everything and everyone, it is your nature to hate, just go and hate elsewhere, Dutch Billy, your favorite king.
All four of his grandparents were born in Ireland. That would make him about as Irish-American as it gets, not Ulster Scots/Scotch Irish. He's also, from my understanding, Roman Catholic, not a Calvinist.
Ulster is Ireland.
@@caedmonnoeske3931 :None of his ancestors are from the Trans-Planted 6-counties of 9-county Ulster.
