I'm shocked with the first THREE picks all falling to them!!! I am never happy with the Patriots draft, but not this time, you couldn't keep me from smiling, until Saturday.... I wanted the kicker from Florida, he's a weapon..... And then they waited too long to take a fast WR.... McMath went in the 6th, and has a huge ceiling..... Of course he didn't start ahead of Chase, Jefferson, and Marshall!! Not many would!!! Oh well, I' very happy with their first 3 and then the RB, Stevenson is an awesome player, even if I'd have gone another way. He will just crush the defenses in the 2nd half. But I'd spend a 4th any day to get a pro bowl field goal kicker, and McPherson will be that guy.
The whole defense is gonna be dominant! With getting Van Noy back as well as Hightower and McCourty! Adding Judon in free agency as well as Jalen Mills who has flexibility in the secondary to play CB and Safety! Then adding Barmore and Perkins smh Barmore is an beast! Barmore should have been a top 15 pick imo dude's an beast with a very quick first step as well as very heavy hands! He's a stronger quicker Suh just raw the doesn't have the technique Suh had coming out of college but he's definitely gonna give interior lineman nightmares for years to come and Oerkins reminds me of Jamie Collins a guy who can end up being very versatile has the physical tools to be moved all over the field! This defense alone can make them championship contenders imo just need a QB that can manage games and ain't gonna lose them games which is why I think Mac Jones should definitely be the starter week 1
To put in perspective how good Ronnie Perkins is, Nik Bonitto (OU) finished first in the Big12 in QB pressures with 49.. Perkins finished 2nd with 46. Perkins also missed 5 games!!!!
Why did he miss games? Also, were Perkins and Bonito on the field at the same time? If so, could his production mean he benefited from Bonito's production and vice versa?
@@riczon1056 Perkins was the Sooners best defender by FAR.... He was a projected first round pick, anyone who is against this pick....well, just glad they're not in the room that counts.
And he fits so well with Barmore... Barmore will take that guard away from one side of the other, and with Perkins stunting, I see a lot more pressures and sacks than the D has been getting.
Edge Devin White?? He just jumps off as so much more athletic than the competition. Endless motor, pursuit is unreal. This might be the steal of the draft.
Also a sure tackler-once he wraps you up you're not likely to get out of it. I'm actually really impressed by his gap assignment discipline and his ability to read and react with those option plays too. Speaks to his ability to process information quickly and also play his assignment well. I think this was an absolute steal in Round 3, even more so than Barmore at the top of Round 2 since we didn't have to give up anything for him. His game actually reminds me a bit of Trey Flowers, but with more quickness than the heavy handed strength that Flowers had in abundance.
@@JinghisKhan Well said man. He just has a nose for the ball carrier. He looks like someone that just needs to be on the field. I can’t believe how the team has improved, especially the front of the defense between FA, Opt outs returning, and the draft. Truly amazing job done by Bill for getting some talented looking dudes
He looks like harold landry but hes much stiffer in the lower half. He has above average speed but he plays more like a power player. He reminds me alot of carl lawson coming out of auburn. Thin lower frame generates his power with his upper body. Has enough talent to win but wether or not he will win consistently depends on how much he develops at the next level.
He would look good in our new stripes in Cincinnati replace Carl Lawson, he definitely has a motor and power hopefully early rd 3 but he will probably go mid 2nd to late second. Bengals need a player like that
He was projected to go in the first round. I think it was injury concerns, but I haven't seen a pick this great since they stole Curtis Martin, because he missed the whole season with an injury.....
I was cursing the Bengal Security guard thinking we weren’t getting him for the stupid taping incident that made no sense. Justice prevailed and he fell in our lap anyway.
He isn't elite. He may never be elite. His career sack numbers may never blow your mind and he may be questioned his whole career. Having said that, he does one thing better than almost every defensive line prospect (tackle, end, olb) I have watched this year and that is making the tackle. There are many.. many prospects with better bend or hand control or complete lists of pass rush moves. Players who currently look better but again, He. Gets. To. The. Play. And. Makes. The. Tackle. Which has become criminally underrated for whatever reason. The NFL has become a big spectacle of hard hits and slams but the technical aspect of actually making the tackle has gone out the window. The downside: He only seems to have a kind of rip move. You don't see him deploy other tricks like a push and pull (I suspect he doesn't have the strength for that) and I would really like to see hand control. That is a big deal for smaller edge rushers because it allows a better, shorter route to the QB because the tackle cant control the movement. It also sets the tackle up to try to prepare for it so he over sets and opens up a lane inside. Because of this it is hard to tell if he can ever be taught to learn those things since presumably, someone has been trying to teach him this for years and he still doesn't do it. A one trick pony never wins a race. The upside: When the play does go to him, it stops with him. Again, this is massively under valued. A lot of players enter the NFL with speed, moves and bend and just can't finish the take down (Arden Key comes to mind. Hands on the QB 9 times and finishes with 1 sack.) So really all the ability to get through the line means nothing if you can't make the stop. He MAY be able to get a few moves down if he ends up on the right team with the right coaches and the right players to help, which could really elevate his play by speeding up his development. Ultimately he is a player that will need to be developed. Someone to sit in a rotational role for the first year or two of his career so he can gain experience at that level while also not being dominated and ruined, like so many rookies, while he is still learning. The 2nd round feels a little too rich, even though he has been mocked late 1st once or twice. In the 3rd round seems the most likely. Remember that there are no real sure things this season and teams have bigger needs that can be filled with players that are more pro ready, leaving the edge class to fall. Best of luck to him.
I'm surprised he fell to us😭 go pats!!!!!👀💯
