What a difference to hear a coach from msu have answers and a path to what needs to happen
Hearing brutal honesty from a head coach while expressing critical thinking directed towards his team's performance and improvement. What else can we ask for?
Yeah, Mel Tucker seemed clueless.
@@toddfarkman2177lots of buzzwords and catchphrase-type responses from The Tugger. Seemed to talk PAST the media. Smith has his quirks but definitely exhibits a competence that Spartan fans can embrace
@@j_r_juniorexactly
@@toddfarkman2177 Careless more like it. I think there's a decent positional coach/coordinator somewhere in there, he just has way too many other issues to overcome.
You can tell this coach is special, hes gonna do something huge!
Agreed. Not to mention, that his strategic football offensive mindset - is simply solid.
Yes he’s going to be another huge disappointment 😂😂😂😂
Injuries unfortunately is apart of football every team goes through them I liked Coach Smith's comments I believe in Johnathan Smith and his vision for this program and turning MSU into a winner again he's put together a great coaching staff and the energy is already different from the last 2 years going forward in 3 years State will be on top! of the Big Ten Conference again.
I am confident that Jonathan Smith is the right choice for MSU. I like listening to him. People need to remember just how bad MSU Football had become last Season (ie 42-0, 38-3, 49-0, 31-9, 41-7). MD will be a very tough opponent as they looked very good in their first game.
Good point. There is gonna be some ugly before things improve. That wasn't Smith's fault.
@@nathanwinters7822 Next week we will see where we are...If we polish off Maryland, then Coach Smith has already shown improvement.
@@greghawkmannext week we’ll be embarrassed just like we were against FAU only worse and in a loss. And no I’m not a homer.
Next week Maryland will destroy us. You heard it here first. And no l’m not a stinking homer.
@@sammysouth8372 if you don't know ball just say that. 3 red zone turnovers and two missed touchdowns due to lack of chemistry between wide out and qb, all things that are correctable this week. If those things go differently the scoreboard is 45-10 when the final bell rings. Less nerves for chiles @ Maryland, not in the electric home environment that is Spartan Stadium, not his first start, and a CLEAR chip on his shoulder. If you're a true MSU fan why even use terms like "embarrassed" and "only worse and a loss" go root for another school bro we don't need that shit. I don't care how long you've "supported" Spartan Nation. Be positive or shut the fk up
God it's nice to hear a coach actually talk about injuries and timelines instead of "he's sore".
Unfortunate, three long term injuries in the first game. Feel bad for all three.
It seems like a hangover from last year penalties and OL play. Creating lanes for the RB’s has been an issue for quite a few seasons now. I’m confident Coach Smith will get it cleaned up. GO GREEN!!!
Not coping or making excuses. But the officiating in that game was horrific. Substandard, lousy and cost us a touchdown.
@@greghawkmanI agree
Go Green!
Go White!
Go White
I’ll say what Coach Smith has too much class to say: the rule NEEDS to change. Both of Maryland’s quarterbacks had multiple late slides in their game vs UConn. Clearly the intent of these players and their coaches is to exploit the officials who are over reliant on a slow motion replay of a bang-bang play. These runners are NOT defenseless when they slide that late INTO a defender.
Exactly! For a rule that is supposed to be about "player safety" they are putting themselves at risk by dropping their heads and making it harder for the defense to hit them cleanly. That rule is intended to keep them from being hit entirely but late slides not only do not accomplish that but cause them to be hit in the head/neck which puts them at more risk than simply being tackled
Yeah in that Maryland game, 2 players were EJECTED on ONE play. Imagine losing two players on one foul that looked intentionally incited.
Na learn how to tackle better 😂lol y’all crying already
@@Spin95 you’re soft, you don’t know football
@@j_r_junior u don’t ur punk a$$ crying about game before y’all play
MSU has to win the next 3 games. 2 players knocked out for season. Just looking at the stretch:
OSU - Oregon (short week) - Iowa - Michigan. I am just imagining how many players will be missing after that terrible gauntlet. 2nd half may be easier, but not if half the team is out.
Need to win games NOW.
Well put YT Sparty!
Go Green!!
Go green go white
This is easy to see, that Smith is going to be one of our great MSU coaches.
Just be patient, we've got the right coach
We need designed runs for Chile and pass plays with routes across the middle of the field. Eventually, Chiles will start hitting the deep ball.
His opening play deep pass that was INCORRECTLY switched to an INT by the officials hit Foster in the hands. He was already hitting the deep ball-his skill players need to step up
It seemed like every route was to the outside
bro get a steady hand jesus lmao
Need to force some turnovers this week. Maryland will move the ball lets just keep them out of the endzone. Good week for bend but dont break defense. Go Green!
Defense doesn't seem to be the issue, it's the offense. Things will continue in the right direction but it will take time.
@@JackS-u4s Defense actually looked fantastic, incompetent refs took away our first TD - no worries - if they play Maryland close and if they win, then you know we are better than last year, already.
It only makes sense that Sparta kept a lot of their office of sets, Secret for the Maryland game, I’m sure tight ends will be used more
yeah, I am just hoping it was a limited play book against FAU
Honestly guys I don’t think Chiles has the stuff…hope im wrong tho
Camera movement is super distracting
I feel like nobody at Michigan State was ready to play football Friday night. Even the stadium announcer was way off his game. Hopefully they wake up before Saturday.
Oh wow another reality based MSU fan refusing to drink the kool aid.
I noticed that, heck even the marching band was behind they didn’t have time to play shadows. Everything felt squished together was a weird feeling from the start.
Coach Smith needs to ban Chris Solari from having a press pass.
Here comes a loss
This is a decent human being for all I know but in 4-5 years he’s fired with a below five hundred record and maybe one Poulan Weedeater bowl loss to his name. This guy is a typical Michigan State hire: nothing absolutely nothing in his resume to foretell success.
*
This guy is not a winner.
you must be looking in the mirror.
@@jjmckay6man1 I agree with you. It does make you wonder who sammysouth8372 is. Myself, I am not a fan of south, AKA the Confederacy. Their heinous laws, the historic inbreeding has lead to nothing good.
