    I love watching novices doin a job I do professionally. Over all, a job well done. I was watching to see how long it would take for you to figure out the hole that the front bolt went through. Not too shabby. A suggestion though. One tiny piece of glass in the track rubber around the outside of the window can actually break the new door glass. I always remove it completely, and run my thumb the length of the rubber. I’d rather risk bleeding a bit instead of buying a new glass. I have a tool designed to clean the glass out of the run channel, but I check it afterwards every time with my thumb. Reinstalling the rubber is easy also. The sticky stuff you refer to is butyl. I short cut a lot of things , but I suggest an amateur perform this job just as you’ve explained, while adding the suggestions I made about the run channel cleaning. Seems to have taken you about 40 minutes which isn’t bad at all. I can install this one in around 7 minutes start to finish, but I’ve over 35 years of auto glass experience. Good explanation on the installation overall.

      Thank you for the positive feedback! I had a 2000 MK4 Jetta, so I was constantly replacing the window regulators in that. They would just randomly fall into the doors, lol. I keep finding that Mitsubishi's are so easy to work on. I don't do this professionally. I'm not sure on the exact time, but I figure filming at the same time probably ads some sort of handy cap. Great advice on cleaning out all the glass! I totally get that. It's not worth breaking a second window for sure. I'm still driving it and the windows has done great so far, considering it was just an amazon purchase. Thanks again!

    That was so satisfying to see the initial testing when the regulator put the window up and down. Bravo.

      Oh no! I'm very sorry to hear about the break in...people suck! When our window broke, it created quite a mess, but the repair went well. I never did find the rock, or whatever it was, that broke the glass. We think our lawn mower caused it. I appreciate the comment! When we decided to film it, I had no idea how helpful this particular video would be. Thank you!

    Thank you for posting this video, because I did not have enough money to pay someone to install the glass and I watched your video and was able to do it myself. I felt so proud. Thank you!

    What if thr window don't have thr white clip like your window has can you use the previous one from the broken window?

    • @EricCosner
      @EricCosner  Год назад

      I believe they are glued on with glass glue, but I think it's very hard to get them off the previous window so you most likely have to find new compatible clips, unfortunately. :(

    You removed the window controller. Did you do that with the panel off and was there a screw on the inside of the panel to remove it? I have to replace the whole switch controller but don't really want to take the whole panel off. Any advice is greatly received.

      I believe I left the window controller connected to the panel and just unhooked the wiring harnesses from it. Around 16:16 you can see the back of the panel and it looks like there may be Phillips screws but unfortunately I’m not 100% sure. If you do end up having to pull the panel, a large plastic pry tool may be able to get it started, or if you use a something made of metal just be sure to protect the paint side from scratches. It comes easier once it started but often those clips go flying. Good luck on your project. If you have any other questions, let me know!

      @@EricCosner cheers. Looks like from a quick glance when you're putting the panel back on, theres a retaining screw!! Means i have to take panel off. Will use your vid as ref.
