I did actually try it with some Diecast and hella hoops and I quite like it with the triple flanged, but I definitely think thats a video worth making for people to hear the difference too! Great video! Thank you very much for this! I like the snare in your video in all tunings. Interestingly, I don't like the drum in any other video.
    In most of the videos the reso head is clearly too soft. Do you have the reso head properly tight?
    Do you use other snare wires?
    Do you always have all tuning screws at the same tuning or do you tune according to the Masshoff method? :)

    I play a brass free-float that's pretty great and similar in timbre, but that aluminum has a tone that I think I WANT
    good stuff
    Ps.. did you do any post eq? I was surprised to not hear pingy overtones

      @James-Chapman-Drums  9 месяцев назад +1

      I believe the Kompressor drums are manufactured in Sonor's Chinese facility, but with a metal shell that doesn't make music difference as they aren't cutting bearing edges etc etc. The new Beech shell Kompressor is a German made beech shell, so it's only the assembly happening in China. Either way, these are fantastic drums that I use every bit as much as my German Sonor snares.

    • @James-Chapman-Drums
      @James-Chapman-Drums  Год назад +1

      It’s the same throw off that was found on the SQ2, Delite and Benny Greb and Steve Smith signature snares prior to them developing the dual glide. Looks like it’s small because the drum is so big. It’s fully metal and perfectly functional. It adjusts smoothly and stays put. The holes are also the same size as the dual glide so you could replace it with that if you want but this is one way Sonor have kept the cost of these down to make them more accessible for people.
