    産業機械の設計を仕事にしてるんだけど、よそ様の装置ってすごくおもしろい。最近は安全基準が厳しくなってきてるし、電気制御が増えてきてメカメカしい機構が見れる機械の製造は減ってきて寂しいね。

    音楽の鳴るメッキ装置、初めて観ました😳。画鋲の製造工程で、丸く打ち抜かれたあとの鋼板はやがて鉄工所に送られてリサイクルされるのでしょう。ともあれ、小学校の頃はああいう画鋲とかクリップしかなくて、クラスの学級新聞などをこの画鋲を使い貼っていたのを思い出します😊。

    I wonder why packaging is done manually.. they could've used an automatic assembly line for packing clips into acrylic boxes and put on the stickers way quickly..

    Would have been nice to see/learn how the tack pin is actually attached to the disc portion. Is it spot welded, adhered somehow, or does magic hold it together? We may never know.

      It is a friction fit. The wire is pushed through the top and the ram pushes it all forward mushing it together and giving the top a round dome.

    These drawing pins (thumbtacks) look to be a lot more substantial than the flimsy ones we get in Europe that, if you push too hard or try to push into hard wood,, just burst though the cap and puncture your thumb.

    How do they count the right number of clips to go in the bag? And how does the machine count the number of tacks that go into the bag?

      It would be either by weight or volume.

      It's done via weight. I work for a scale company and multi bin mass weight system are a common place. Just a thought for you, most of the snack chips (crisps for over seas) you get in a bag are filled that way also.

      @@elanjacobs1 It's Japan. They may have gold-plated thumbtacks as a sign of respect or status. The paper-clips are nickel-plated, which is pretty fancy by itself.

    I think this is impressive, but I have no idea how it is commercially viable for there to be manufacturing for tacks and paper clips in Japan. DOesn't everyone just source them from China?

      Japan makes a lot of this kind of stuff domestically. It's highly automated so they can do it very cheaply. If you wander around dollar stores in Japan, you'll find a lot of those random products are made in Japan, while in North America, similar products would all be made in China. Despite this, they are very cost-competitive.

      1:加工の基本と成る金型精度が高く、金型価格も比較的安い。
      2:機械のメンテナンスを自社内で行う為整備コストが低い。
      3:1、2から製品の不良率が他国より2桁程度低い。
      4:良いとは言えないが日本の労働者賃金が何時の間にか国際水準より相対的に低く成った。
      5:品質の良さがリピーターを呼んで他社より高くても購入される。
      以上が事務用品で日本メーカーのシェアを保つ理由

      〇〇エンジニアリングとか〇〇テック、〇〇設備等の名前の会社の多くが工場設備製造してますよ。
      プレス機、メッキ設備、コンベア等の専業メーカーも日本には結構有って、国内主要都市で展示会も開催されています。
      大きいのは東京で2年毎に行われている筈。
      日本の工場を支えています。

      ペーパーレスなんてしていない、学校や会社なんて壁中画鋲だらけだし、クリップも挟みまくり。
      ダメになるのも多いし、気付いたら直ぐどこかに無くなるから買い足す羽目に
