Thank you for this show of yours!I lost my wife of 31 years last week and it just put a smile on my face.Just a simple thank you again and God bless you guys!

So glad to see him make such great progress on Steve's layout! It's looking fantastic! Glad he decided to recycle, rebuild and use various bits of the old layout.

Great to see Steve getting back on the horse doing what he loves . This world beats you down just got to keep fighting. THANKS FOR POSTING BILL TYLER , TX
All these train guys are so busy and creative! I knew a guy who built an entire or scale railroad in his yard as a garden rail road and I’ll be darned if that didn’t work! I love your idea! I have many times taken my G scale stuff outside with the snap track and just put together some track and run trains around and then taking the whole thing down and brought it back in the house just for the Fourth of July or whatever. It’s really a great thing so do it!!
A very pleasant railroad to watch in operation. Also nice to see the turn tables. Not sure why but I never liked watching a steam locomotive forced to reverse to pull a train, always preferred seeing them go front forward.
I had just visited the Texas State Railroad found in Rusk and Palestine, Texas. The TSRR has five steam locomotives. I saw four of them. Tremont & Gulf Railroad 30, Santa Fe 1316, Texas & Pacific 316, and Texas & Pacific 610. And the fifth one that is at the TSRR is Southern Pine Lumber Company 28. And 610 was also the locomotive that pulled the American Freedom Train. It’s one of the three steam locomotives that pulled the American Freedom Train. I haven't seen much of the Bachmann On30 run so this was 'purdy' cool to watch. Good to watch Steve shake-off the notion to move and embrace, once again, the hobby he so clearly enjoys. Steve is such a gifted guy. Great up-date. Greg and Jeanne.
Thank you for sharing what Steve has been up to.on his railroad. I am happy he decided to stay put and rebuild. You two are doing some fine modeling also. Everything is looking great.
It’s always been an amazing rail road and now over all of these years it’s been fun to watch it change. Do you know it started off in his living room! Then he moved it up to the second floor cleaned out approximately 1000 pounds of pigeon poop and put the railroad there
That's turning out so nice! Funny how he went from taking his old railroad down just a couple of months ago to putting a whole new one together. Amazing video!
It’s hard to predict the future isn’t it? And Steve’s case he just wasn’t feeling well and has lost all hope in staying in that house and was going to move in with his kids, then he gets a new hip feels great and tears into the railroad and starts all over again
Steve certainty knows how to make a model structure! They all look marvellous in amongst scant trains!! Well, you roll how you roll! Rolling down the railroad, Regards Stephen. 😀
Structures have always been Steve’s favorite things. Mind you he is scratch built absolutely everything that goes on the rail road including locomotives, but his favorite is scratch building detailed structures with Ford interiors
We assume we’re going to have the backdrop finished this week. And then we’re going to move everything out and put in carpet before we build the bench work
Just like always, I cant thank you guys for making another AWESOME video. My 10yr old and I love watching all the updates while we have been on the road. Cant wait to start rebuilding our railroad using some of the suggestions you've sent us in the past. Thanks again!!
It’s a great hobby and it’s nice to see your 10-year-old getting involved in it. There’s been a lot of kids around here are starting to pick up mobile railroading in large part because the local club is promoting that. But this hobby is just as fun as it’s ever been and someways funner than ever because of the modern equipment.
It’s so neat the way that set a peninsula is coming together. I asked him today what she gonna do when the Center peninsula is finished. He should work on the outside On3 loop.
Thank you for posting, seeing the updates to the On30 layout through the years always makes my day. Narrow gauge of any kind just tickles me pink, I love it. Especially with how much care, love, and attention that is put into the layout with all of the repurposing of older elements into the new layout. Makes me really excited because I've been saving up to make a rather large purchase of Bachmann rolling stock from a local train store as a gift for myself as well as a means of supporting them in these times (Need to check ahead to make sure they are still open of course). Please do keep uploading videos on Steve's layout, it really does make my day seeing the layout grow and evolve over time, and just makes me excited to be adding to my hobby collection little by little every year.
Hi and you’re very welcome we love showing Steve’s. We too have been working on our railroad do you in and day out! We almost have the backdrop finished probably two more days on that and then will be built in bench work again. Oddly enough before building the bench work I’m gonna move everything out of the way and put in some carpet. Otherwise I won’t be able to
Dale, Great to see Steve is keeping busy. I have question for you about last week video on your outdoor section with the wall plaques. You must have found the best ones, Because there's none on Ebay !! Also if you're viewer's are looking for these things Check there local Goodwill or Thrift Store for them.
We picked ours up on eBay and they are kind of scarce. And expensive. About 100 each. The one we showed is broken. But for us that’s fine! We can make it work.
Nice to see again Steve's railroad. Always amazing to see his work. My scratch built turntable is simply man powered, like the prototype, and the small locks are functional (made in brass). I think it is a lot more easy than a motorized turntable, when having just a few tracks. I like Peco On30 track, but the turnout isn't very reliable on my layout, my self made copies are less derailment prone. Next time I need a turnout, I will continue to make them myself, but for the track, Peco is fine.
Actually Steve told me today that only three of the switches are pico the rest are handling. The hand like ones were great with the pico ones can be a little bit finicky
Hi Dave. Indeed!! We totally changed our layout plan to make everything easy to reach. Ther will be one place, about a foot across where the reach will be 40”. Everywhere else the reach is about 18”.
Hi. On to Adams tomorrow. He’s over COVID and back on the layout. He had the antibody blood transfusions and it helped!!!!! Wow!!! Now he’s a donor. With 3 layouts.
Glorious work. It's reminiscent of Harper's Ferry + Sandy Point + Boonsboro + Cumberland , and so many other places, I'm sure. If he put the track through the topography more, he'd have replicated, approximative, aglutinative _Wild Mary_ layout.
AWESOME GOOD VIDEO VERY INTERESTING AND INFORMATIVE THANK YOU BOTH AGAIN FOR YOUR VIDEO AND TIME DO YOU BOTH BELONG TO THE MODELERS CLUB IN THAT PART OF THE NATION . DO WHAT YOU WANT AND LIKE IT'S YOUR RAILROAD ENJOY THANKS AGAIN FOR THE VIDEO AND SHARING THIS WITH YOUR SUBSCRIBERS ALWAYS ENJOYABLE JIM KAMMERER OF PHILADELPHIA PA THANK YOU AGAIN 😷😷👌👌😇🚂🚂🚂👍👍👍
We just had a long talk about that over lunch! We looked at George cellulose is layout on video watch some other videos and commented how John Allen was really the founder of it all.
@@ToyManTelevision My first book on trains as a kid was "So you want to build a Model Railroad" that was like a 1950s reprint. My second was "Model Railroading with John Allen" wow what a contrast for a 12-13 yr old to see. I still think his was the best HO layout ever built. Its just absolutely beautiful. Imagine if he had what is available today it would just be stupendous!
One other thing I have a old book on the Old Moffat Road that climbed the continental divide before the Moffat tunnel was built. Think its called Climbing the Ladder or something. Anyway in the 1970s the tracked was like a dirt road and like the Colorado narrow gauge lines long gone there was rr infrastructure still standing. Im surprised I havent seen you make any exploring videos on the old moffat line and checked out the old left behind water towers and stuff and all the views and tunnels that rr had to offer. Some of those tunnels were really short and ran along a creek if I remember right or maybe it was Moffats competitor the colorado midland. I always liked the rocky terrain and the multiple short tunnels in gorges along rivers. Here in the East the C&O was known to have many like that till they modernized and removed some of them in the depression era improvements they made. Both were really kool to look at. To me it was always like a real life version of John Allens G&D from the photos in those books.
At one time we had the train going all over the apartment and behind the sofa was a tunnel, you have to see my cat chasing the train before went into the tunnel and then she run to the other end to watch the train, but she never broke a piece, she believe we built the layout for her lol lol
Hey im brand new to the channel. And i have been loving all of the videos featuring steves railroads. Old and new. Is there any full on railway tours of his railroads??
Not really. I have a playlist on that where all of those videos are in one place but I have been thinking that it would be nice to put together a long format show. Have you seen the one called Steve Stribel and the O scale guys? Shows the really old rail roads
What a wonderful layout! I would say perfect, but no layout is ever truely perfect nor finished, but stunning none the less. Thanks for another fantastic video! Just curious, what was the bame of the music track you have playing jn the background? It was delightful and really adds to the beauty of the layout and video
That’s really an amazing way out is if you look closely Steve has just about filled in with the new peninsula. A bit more scenery and track ballast. The music I buy from Smartsound. Been using it for 20 years. They sell it with rights so I can use it on RUclips. And I can edit and really change it as it’s recorded one instrument at a time. So I can take some out or remix.
Happy fourth right back out to you yesterday we sang happy birthday to America. We also went up in the mountains to get some fresh air and get away from people who might be ill. As it happens everyone was doing the same thing so that didn’t work out really well we had a grand time exploring
Steve's ever progressing Railroad is a true work of art! He has to be very proud of what he has done, to rebuild his model railroad! You mention other railroads part of this one came from... Do you have pictures/video of them and where you guys had them?
When I say that there’s a link that pops up to a video on our channel called Steve Struble in the O scale guys. Right there!! Let me find the link... ruclips.net/video/fo3t_5-Hwo4/видео.html
Brilliant and interesting as ever. Steve is so talented. At 1:46 - was Sodor Fuel a US company or did that tank come straight off a Thomas the Tank engine set?
As i was watching the video i noticed there seemed to be little knobs around the vertical edges. Were those to operate the turnouts? Noticed them as you were panning around the layout. Thank you
Wow! So much fun modeling. Is On3 bigger or smaller than On30? I assume both are bigger than HO. I assume things get pretty loud in Mom's "Dinning" House. :D
Hi. Same scale. 1/48 scale. 1/4” = 1 foot. It’s the track gauge that is different. O standard gauge is based on 5 feet. So 1 and 1/4 inches wide. On3 is based on 3 foot mountain narrow gauge railroads. So 3:4 inch wide. And On30. 30 inch gauge so a really odd .650 inches wide. Same as HO standard gauge.
Steve is such a wonderful craftsman! He does need to add a racoon walking on top of the power substation grid, then have the lights flash. Sorry , that is the way my mind works.
Ok, so here's the next level of concept: - racoon has a bit of a built-in buckety container - travels a circuit that's something of a triangle in a vertical plain: --- racoon emerges from behind scenery, "climbs" wires lines to the substation. --- Upon reaching substation, an invisible electrical contact is made, and a hidden phosphor charge in the raccoon's "bucket" fires. --- immediately the raccoon drops down into the scenery to disappear for a few minutes. --- while the raccoon is disappeared, it's getting a new phosphor charge, and making its way back to it's point of entry, where the cycle repeats. So Gardener: if you're going to propose ideas like this, you have to be ready to deal with the consequences of your actions, which includes responses like this, which __ are better suited to an outdoor layout anyway. Kindly share the video when you get this worked up!
Steve doesn’t have a lot of train cars on this yet or for that matter a lot of locomotives. He’s mostly concentrating on just building the railroad and structures because that’s his favorite thing
Aidan Backer hum... Steve doesn’t have that. Are you thinking of Danny Olroid? With the 15” gauge in Sanpeat? He has a Facebook page.we covered it in a show or two but just laying track. We have never seen his steam locomotive run.
Remember my comments on the last video; I was curious if building your own 15 inch gauge backyard railroad is possible. Were you talking about Danny Olroid or Steve in the late video?
He was talking about tearing the whole thing down in selling it. And I said all please just leave it where it is. It doesn’t need to run it can just sit there being beautiful
Nice to see what Steve has done on the layout. What a craftsman!
Thanks for sharing!!!!

We almost have the backdrop finished probably two more days on that and then will be built in bench work again. Oddly enough before building the bench work I’m gonna move everything out of the way and put in some carpet. Otherwise I won’t be able to
Like the point ta point peninsula, looks great...
So much easier to design and build. Easy to get to.
@@ToyManTelevision i used an atlas turntable as a base for my o gauge turntable, it had no problems turning a 12lbs engine...
Dale,
Great to see Steve is keeping busy.
I have question for you about last week video on your outdoor section with the wall plaques.
You must have found the best ones, Because there's none on Ebay !! Also if you're viewer's are looking for these things
Check there local Goodwill or Thrift Store for them.
My number one consideration for my railroad is reachability. My hands must be able to reach anywhere on the railroad, plus no duckunders.
Hi Dave. Indeed!! We totally changed our layout plan to make everything easy to reach. Ther will be one place, about a foot across where the reach will be 40”. Everywhere else the reach is about 18”.
Love the layout
Hi. On to Adams tomorrow. He’s over COVID and back on the layout. He had the antibody blood transfusions and it helped!!!!! Wow!!! Now he’s a donor. With 3 layouts.
👍
Thx again
You are welcome
Glorious work. It's reminiscent of Harper's Ferry + Sandy Point + Boonsboro + Cumberland , and so many other places, I'm sure.
If he put the track through the topography more, he'd have replicated, approximative, aglutinative _Wild Mary_ layout.
It’s fun and realistic at the same time. Love the little gully with the mill
Hello and good morning from Detroit Michigan
Hi Detroit! Hope you are well there.
This reminds me of John Allens G&D in larger scale. Very nice
Awesome video liked hope you had a great 4th of July 👍🎆
Very low-key Fourth of July! Hope you two had a good one as the virus is on the move here we just went up in the mountains And explored.
Your friend Steve really need to find a hobby lol, he; is such a skilled Craftsman love his layout thanks for the update 👍👍👍
We’re heading down there and he’s already made big changes and it’s only been a few days! Boy works fast!
nice video
Thanks!! Great layout!! Wow go Steve!
Happy 4th of July. All aboard. 🐢🚂🇺🇸🐢🚂🇺🇸🐢🚂🇺🇸👍
Happy fourth right back out to you yesterday we sang happy birthday to America. We also went up in the mountains to get some fresh air and get away from people who might be ill. As it happens everyone was doing the same thing so that didn’t work out really well we had a grand time exploring
I agree with Tim maroney
Who? Am I missing something?
Steve's ever progressing Railroad is a true work of art! He has to be very proud of what he has done, to rebuild his model railroad! You mention other railroads part of this one came from... Do you have pictures/video of them and where you guys had them?
When I say that there’s a link that pops up to a video on our channel called Steve Struble in the O scale guys. Right there!! Let me find the link... ruclips.net/video/fo3t_5-Hwo4/видео.html
@@ToyManTelevision ,thanks you guys are all very talented modelers! Keep up the screwing around!!
Brilliant and interesting as ever. Steve is so talented.
At 1:46 - was Sodor Fuel a US company or did that tank come straight off a Thomas the Tank engine set?
davie maclean yup. Thomas!!!!
As i was watching the video i noticed there seemed to be little knobs around the vertical edges. Were those to operate the turnouts? Noticed them as you were panning around the layout. Thank you
Yup!!! Cable system on most switches
Steve’s a true craftsman. Thanks for sharing . . . what happened to lunch 🥗 btw?
We sort of invent that every day. Eat at garagemahall. Eat in the car. Stay home. Restaurant? Naw. Sad. We have been out twice in a hundred days.
Great to see Steve happy and back at it, noticed the quietness of the train, by preference? Is Steve dead set against sound decoders?
He’s not that into Sound. I don’t think he objects to it he just doesn’t have any interest in it
Ok, so here's the next level of concept:
- racoon has a bit of a built-in buckety container
- travels a circuit that's something of a triangle in a vertical plain:
--- racoon emerges from behind scenery, "climbs" wires lines to the substation.
Kindly share the video when you get this worked up!
nice
Needs more flat cars and gondolas??? And where did all the people go? Social distanced??? Thanks, Thailand Paul
Steve doesn’t have a lot of train cars on this yet or for that matter a lot of locomotives. He’s mostly concentrating on just building the railroad and structures because that’s his favorite thing
Well another golden spike railroad
So much fun messing around with this railroad. Peninsula is looking really good! And running really well
If this pandemic has done anything good we have all got a lot done on our layouts!
Yup. This staying in for us is like not a big deal! Stay in! Okay. Fine. Now the lack of restaurants is a pain...
Where can I follow #BAL Steve?
Steve doesn’t really do social media. Except here on toy man.
Oh, do you have footage of his 15 inch gauge backyard railroad?
Aidan Backer hum... Steve doesn’t have that. Are you thinking of Danny Olroid? With the 15” gauge in Sanpeat? He has a Facebook page.we covered it in a show or two but just laying track. We have never seen his steam locomotive run.
Danny Oldroyd. Sanpete valley railroad on Facebook
Remember my comments on the last video; I was curious if building your own 15 inch gauge backyard railroad is possible. Were you talking about Danny Olroid or Steve in the late video?
Time stamp 559 buildings in the sky It would be cool if he could put a trolley line or a goose that would go back-and-forth from one end to the other
He was talking about tearing the whole thing down in selling it. And I said all please just leave it where it is. It doesn’t need to run it can just sit there being beautiful
😊
He kind of looks like Bill Murray and sounds like, Goofy!
I am blind so descriptions help
I will keep that in mind as I go.
I have a show idea for you how many trains Shirts do you and the Mrs. Have just an idea you're welcome
Gee lots!! Everywhere we go we usually buy the souvenir T-shirt one for each of us!
