  • Why Don't 100% Disabled Veterans Know About This? It's amazing to think that a 100% service-connected Veteran doesn't know about the benefits they are entitled to.
That said, we must remember where they coming from, the pain they endured, not to mention the loss of mobility and other functions.

I was admitted to VA emergency by ambulance due to a cut finger. Upon release at midnight, I didn’t have a ride home, which was 40 miles away. One nurse said they’d arrange a free Uber ride home and within 20 minutes the driver pulled up. 😊

I've been 100% for quite some time and have been unaware of many benefits you've spoken about...such as...being able to go to a non-VA hospital, such as an emergency room. I usually get good results from most of the VA, but the last time I had to go to the ER, the trainee doctor was excellent at noting what needed to be done. The ER doc in charge had the mentality of a janitor, but I wouldn't want to belittle the janitors who would have been more qualified. So I would go to another ER before going to the VA ER again.

I'm over in the Philippines about 60 miles north of Manila when this happened. VA set up 3 different C&P exams over a 2 week period in Oct 2020. So that was 3 round trips, VA told me did not qualify for travel pay even though I was 70% at the time. The good part? Before the first week of Nov I was awarded 100% P&T.
For over 2 years before going to the Philippines, I asked VA what my medical benefits were in the Philippines. Each time I was told they were the same as in the states. After being in the Philippines I need medical so went to the VA. I was then told the only thing they would treat was my service connections. I was on my own for anything else. The funny part? There is a VA hospital that the VA built in the Philippines, but only Filipinos can use it.

Most people on social security disability do it in their late 40s or 50s, you cannot continued to work or be retired and then at in your 70s, or 80s say, hey! I am disabled. Social security and the VA are two different governments entities, or departments. What might be a disability with the VA, might not be a disability with the social security.

You got a $6 deduction every time you file up to three v i s i t s. Your mileage is computed at 41 cents a mile as the crow not following actual roads.
