Hello sir, it's a great advise for me! I have been learning SQL continuously but I think just got an excellent career path advise from your vdo. Thank you so much.
I was hoping the video would've covered how to get into database... any role, really. For instance, how or where to get started when all the employers I've seen on Indeed require experience or some college degree. Do I just keep looking until I find a posting that just asks for SQL? Should I start out somewhere specific in IT and segway into databases? How should I get started?
I was a software QA with strong SQL skills. I was better at SQL than I was at QA! How do I get a foot in the door as a DBA? Everybody who interviewed me said they could see my passion for databases, but nobody would hire me because of my lack of experience.
Hi Christopher, we recommend getting started with the latest Database training, to pair those skills with certifications. The DP-900 course is a great place to start: www.cbtnuggets.com/it-training/microsoft-azure/data-fundamentals
I wanted to travel out to study database administration and return home. The circumstances that surround me make home not conducive for learning. Problem: Couldn't find any vocational institution that will allow one to study this without first enrolling into a university in the considered country. Internet is as rare as you can't imagine. What are my options to grabbing the skills of a database admin even if without certification?
Sir , i am 37 years old ....due to some personal issues I couldn't build up my career as it should be......but I want to re-start my career as database administrator , so if I pursue any DBA course , will it be helpful at my age as a fresher.
Hi there. What do you mean with “SQL server” ? Do you mean the Microsoft one (full GUI)? There is a big fight between oracle (MySQL) and Microsoft (SQL server). Which one to choose in 2021 to become a junior DBA? Thanks.
I have a friend currently working as a DBA and he got me interested in the role. He got an associates degree in web software development and I'm currently in the same program. How common is it to land a role as a DBA with a degree in development? Is there anything I can do now while I'm in the program (certifications, extra online courses, etc.) to have a higher chance of landing a role as a DBA?

The certifications are different now. Would you kindly share your thoughts on the new MS SQL certs? :)
