I actually remember this not being THAT bad. Thought the suit was actually kind of cool. Although I do definitely remember wondering why they didn't just continue the TAS cliffhanger if they still wanted to make episodes of Spider-Man. Good to find out all these years later.
I disagree that this show was bad at all. This show was fire, and I was always so upset that it was cancelled. The great art (especially the shading), banger music, and I was genuinely interested and engaged with the core concept, execution, and all.
In the end, I’m glad it was part of my childhood. About the costume: Outside the cartoon and new spider verse movie I only remember one comic that made reference to it. Spidey used the unlimited suit while fighting Carnage in the negative zone iirc.
Also, if running anything against the Pikachu juggernaut, why not have it be re-runs of the prior show, which is the entire reason they created Unlimited? Automatically, you'd pull in viewers who didn't want to watch Pokemon with a proven winner.

Cool new costume, original villains and characters, a cyberpunk setting and Mary Jane Watson with the voice of Felicia Hardy - this show had a lot of potential. It‘s a travesty that we didn’t get to see more of it.
am i the only one who liked it more than batman beyond?!? seriously people give it too little credit for what it was, an engaging and thrilling cartoon with mature themes and settings, i'd argue this was a more engaging cartoon then most other spiderman cartoons, the High evolutionary was an obscure but great choice in villain and karen being the only part left of his humanity made for a very interesting episode. overall by its own merit i'd say Unlimited its still a good superhero cartoon by any measure.
I hated this show becauese the original one left us with that cliffhanger promising Peter was going to find the real Mary Jane. This show very vaguely hinted that it was a follow up but then quickly changed gears and didn't even try to be. It grew on me as it went on though.
I loved the original TAS. I don't think I ever got that the two were even hinted to be connected since it took me so long to catch Unlimited on tv anyway lol

My absolute favorite design. A venom suit version of this would be vicious. They need this suit in the new spider-man game. His suit was made from nanotechnology, this spiderman was ahead of his time. I don't care what nobody say the nanotech web cape is 🔥
It's not a bad series at all. Just not what people expect from a Spider-man series. But it was interesting seeing him with a nano suit against High Evolutionary on Counter Earth after seeing all those things in the MCU. The art style has a great comic book look too.
So in conclusion it suffered from a prototype version of the Batman embargo that only recently truly died still remember all those CW and FOX Batmanless Batman shows who ice him out the gates.
Its not great but i'll still defend it, its better than every spider-man show after Spectacular. Its worth watching for me because it has that 90's dark cel animation style that we don't see anymore, the spidey suit is easily GOAT and it fixes the biggest flaw with the original TAS, the pacing is just right. Its just 13 eps so i can't be too harsh on it, and the idea of alternate earth evil spider-man is just silly, considering how spider-carnage was the final villain in the TAS. I would've preferred a straight up 2099 adaptation over it.
Bro fr, I can't stand hearing drake bells voice through spider-man tbh, and everything about the is just bad, especially with spiderman have a team , they are just assholes to peter really, the venom crap is just 💀, and don't me started on the dam shading, and how goofy they make some scenes , Peter's stupid Deadpool fourth wall breaking bs, that weird scream that happens when Peter's aboutta get attacked, or bc of random things

Used to love watching this series along with spectacular spider man but didn't know they were cancelled long ago
I always wanted to watch Unlimited as a kid. It wasn't until I grew up that I realized why it was always impossible to catch on tv lol
